Why the Owner Chose Hammondsport

We have been coming to Hammondsport for over 10 years and last year we moved here full time. We are retired and we want others to enjoy Hammondsport as much as we enjoy it. Living in a small village has many advantages and we enjoy them daily. The Finger Lakes Trail passes by Hammondsport and is a well-maintained hiking trail that Wegman's Food Markets has indorsed. It provides an opportunity to explore the hills and streams that surround the lake and enjoy nature’s beauty.

The Unique Benefits at this House

The Wine Trails in the area are very famous. There are over 100 wineries in the Finger Lakes Region. Several Breweries are close by. The Curtis Museum is an experience that you will not want to miss. Great stay at this house!!!!

Guest: Anusha (Oxford, OH)
Date of Stay: 05/18/12 Review Submitted: 05/22/12

Rita and Wes greeted us when we arrived and gave us a personal tour of the property, including their phone numbers in case we wanted to reach them for anything. They were warm and friendly and the house was the exact same way! Everything was clean, comfortable, and cozy and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house is just walking distance from Hammondsport Square and we could walk to the lake, bistros, and wine bars. This house is great for two couples staying for a long weekend (which is what we did) and a perfect romantic getaway! I would highly recommend this vacation property :)

We had a fabulous girls' getaway at Wes and Rita's house! Everything is as described and Wes and Rita could not have been easier or more pleasent to deal with. The shops and the lake are an easy walk from the house and multiple wineries are a short drive away. We hope to make it a yearly event!

Amazing Hammondsport House!!

Guest: Jen (Pittsburgh, PA)
Date of Stay: 04/13/12 Review Submitted: 04/16/12

I just got back from our stay yesterday and I have to say I can't wait to return!!! The house was amazing! Very cozy, centrally located, and all the touches of being at home......extra blankets, orange juice, fresh pastries from a local bakery, fresh fruit, games, DVDs and so much more. We had a girls weekend, so there were four of us and we all loved our stay. We have stayed at other places in Hammondsport and can now not think of staying anywhere else. Rita and Wes even were flexible with our arrival time and didn't mind meeting us for a very late check in on Friday. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, close enough to town to walk to dinner, with amazing attention to detail, this house is for you!!!!

My girlfriends and I came to Hammondsport to visit the Bully Hill winery and participate in the The Switz polar bear plunge. The guest house was absolutely beautiful and very very clean. Rita and Wes were such wonderful hosts. All of us were so happy about the house and our stay. Rita and Wes recommended places to eat, and provided us fresh goodies from the local bakery and fresh fruit. Special touches such as Dove chocolates and some fresh oj were also provided. Rita, Wes - thank you. We had a wonderful time and your house is absolutely perfect. Planning to bring my husband and son to visit sometime. Your house and your hospitality were such a pleasure!!! A rare gem to find! Love it!!

Retreat at the beautiful town of Hammondsport

Guest: Dana (Lewes, DE)
Date of Stay: 08/04/11 Review Submitted: 02/09/12

We stayed at the Hammondsport guest house for about four nights this past summer and had one of the best times that we have had in a long time. I must say, what a comfortable place to stay! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had lived there for years with everything you could possibly ask for right there at the house! The town and beautiful area surrounding are breathtaking with picturesque views of the lake, fabulous wineries, restaurants, and all kinds of fun things to do. I would highly reccomend this house as a unbeatable place to stay to get away and relax! We can't wait to get there again this summer!

The house is absolutely beautiful, if you are looking for a home away from home this is it. Wes and Rita roll out the welcome mat the minute you arrive. Fresh fruit, Pastry's and coffee in the cupboard are just a few of the warm touches added for our arrival. Would highly recommend renting the Hammondsport Guest house to anyone traveling to Hammondsport. Thank you again Wes and Rita for a wonderful home to spend our weekend in.

Idyllic Getaway in a great rental

Guest: joecutus (Pottstown, PA)
Date of Stay: 10/09/11 Review Submitted: 10/20/11

My wife and I, who are long time visitors to the finger lakes area, were looking for a house rental for a fall week, ideally in the Keuka Lake, Hammondsport area. It was just the two of us this time, with maybe another couple for a few days, and the Hammondsport Guest House was perfect. This is a historic home that was recently lovingly renovated, and it is beautiful. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath home was the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing retreat. Rita and Wes were great hosts, and added all kinds of little extras from drinks and snacks to having the house stocked with every imaginable item for cooking in or providing info on the area. From Dish networks to DVD players, to soaps and shampoos in the bathroom, to extra blankets for a cool evening. If you want to have a relaxing pampered get-away at Keuka lake, AND at a very reasonable price, this is the place.

Lovely Cottage in the Village

Guest: Anonymous
Date of Stay: 09/30/11 Review Submitted: 10/12/11

We so enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage, the house had everything we needed from cooking our own breakfast, to an outdoor grill that was easy to use. Everything was high end, from lots of fluffy towels, to a super comfortable bed which was like sleeping on a cloud. My husband and I had the upstairs suite, my parents were very comfortable on the ground floor. I loved the many window dining room, watching the changing of the leaves and listening to the falling rain. Rita and Wes where super hosts, greeting us on arrival along with a few thoughtful items for tea and coffee, and fresh fruit. We loved everything about the cottage and look forward to going back. Definitely a "10".

Wonderful, charming house

Guest: JBM (Pittsburgh, PA)
Date of Stay: 10/06/11 Review Submitted: 10/10/11

Our Finger Lakes trip was certainly enhanced by choosing to stay at this immaculate and charming house that we used as our base. There is so much more to the house than the photos show (a porch and grill for dining al fresco.) Just 2 short blocks from the village square it is ideally situated for a stroll to dinner or a quick drive to many of the Keuka Lake wineries. The hosts, Rita and Wes welcome you with open arms and fresh fruit, beverages and pastries from the local bakery! The kitchen is very well equipped and spacious and the beds are very comfortable. To top off our trip we could not possibly have asked for better weather. Do your self a favor and book your stay here as you will not be disappointed!
