Surprise Valley Ranch is a 400 acre family owned equestrian guest ranch with cabins for rent. Our ranch is surrounded by 1.8 million acres of the Santa Fe National Forest and Pecos Wilderness Area. Each decorated cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and woodburning stove and at least one bedroom. A Full bathroom with tub completes each cabin.
These cabins are adjacent to stocked trout ponds, lakes and streams. Fishing for rainbows, native brook and cutthroat trout is a favorite pastime of our guests. The cabins also have individual horse corrals, outdoor barbecues and a rustic but comfortable porch. Sit back enjoy a drink and unwind at the end of the day while enjoying the mountain views. Outside your door are hundreds of miles of pristine mountain trails for hiking and horseback riding. We offer day trips for golf, whitewater rafting, and excursions into historic Santa fe and Taos, New Mexico.
In addtion, Surprise Valley Ranch has a full service Saloon with a commercial kitchen, pool/ping pong table, flat screen TV, wet bar, and outdoor deck with a firepit. This facility can accomodate up to 34 diners. Saloon is available for private parties, weddings, reunions and groups by advance reservation only.
Our equestrian facilities and programs are avalable for day trips and lessons by the hour or custom applications for individuals or groups. Our expert wranglers and resident horse trainers offer everything from trail rides for beginners to barrel racing or even a rodeo! Full service boarding is available while you stay with us if you would like to bring your horse.
Whether it is a romantic weekend, family reunion, a vaction with friends and family, or a girls getaway weekend, let us help you plan a special event or occassion at the ranch. More than 60 weddings have been performed here!

Me and my wife spent a week here in October. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We hiked and fished everyday. Sat out on the deck every night and played cards and looked at the stars. We were literally in the middle of the wilderness mountains. The cabin was like a four star suite with a full kithchen. Coming back next summer to go horseback riding and golfing with our friends..Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Rates
May through Oct: $3,250/mthly; $1000/wkly; $205/night dbl occupancy (2 night min.) Each additonal adult (19 & over):$500 per month/$200 per week/$50 per night. Each additional child (18& under):$250 per month/$100 per week/$25 per night. Horseback riding is $80 per hour, $50 each additional hour, per person.
