  Stayed here with a group of six for four nights. The house is great, exactly what we were expecting. The property manager was a total pro, and gave us a great recommendation on a personal chef who cooked for us one night. This is a great jumping off point to explore the north shore, including the hike to Hanakapi'ai Falls, which I think should be mandatory for any able-bodied adult visitor to the island. Would also be a great rental for a family that just wanted a quiet (and beautiful) getaway. If you're planning on exploring the whole island, on the other hand, this would not be the place to stay. Even the commute to Hanalei for dinner is 15 minutes of winding roads each way. Stayed on the south shore at a hotel in Poipu for the second half of our trip, but preferred our time at Hale Hina. Beautiful.

  We have done 12 rentals in Kauai--this house was the nicest. Very high-quality furnishings, down to the smallest detail. Very nice beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. Beautiful lush grounds. Very quiet area. Responsive management--the dishwasher stopped working and we had a new one within a day. One thing you need to know--the house is NOT on Tunnels Beach, which is a few blocks away. The beach opposite the house is nice for sitting, but NO swimming, and the sand is VERY dense, so that it is virtually impossible to walk down the beach to Tunnels Beach (which is beautiful, and okay for swimming and, surf permitting, snorkeling). You need to walk about a half mile down the road, or drive, although parking spaces are few. One suggestion for the owner: It would be nice to have more light on the lanai. The only light goes on with the ceiling fan out there, which is not always desirable to have on, during slightly chilly evenings. It would be nice to have the option of light without the fan.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

  This house was the perfect way to wrap up our multi-island honeymoon.We have very much enjoyed this beautiful and truly immaculate home! We really lucked out to have absolutely divine weather everyday. We got in a couple of great snorkeling days at Tunnels before we were greeted by 15-foot swells - equally terrifying and beautiful! This was our 2nd time on the island, and the goal was to relax and take it easy - this house provided just that! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

  Dear Mike and Deborah, We loved, loved, loved staying here. Your home is so beautiful and comfortable, with everything we needed. Kauai is paradise, and the Kalaulau is the most beautiful hike I've ever been on. Loved the beaches, kayaking, paddleboarding and hiking. Also, I'd recommend stargazing under the night sky on the beach! Shooting stars! (But be wary of rogue waves...) Thank you for sharing your home.

  We had a truly wonderful vacation on the very lovely island of Kauai!!! It could not have been nicer - waking up each morning to the sound of the surf and the tropical birds was so special. We were searching for shells and found some pretty ones - love the Pukas! Such a lovely home - how we enjoyed it!!! Alaho from a very appreciative family!

  This is a beautiful house, and we enjoyed our stay very much! Each visit to Kauai makes it harder and harder to leave and to return to our "normal" lives. Someday, if the Gods are willing, we'll make Kauai our home. We were also lucky to celebrate our daughters 9th birthday this trip, because it made it a very special birthday for her.   This doesn't feel like a rental home - it's such a well-kept house that makes one feel at home and relaxed in all of the rooms. We are so privileged to spend the first weeks of our married lives here. We hope to revisit soon one day.

  Two families met here in Kauai for a getaway, and this home has facilitated that effort perfectly, be it hanging out in the great room, enjoying dinners on the lanai, or walking down to the beach taking "secret" passageways to all these little slices of heaven. Many thanks to you for opening your beautiful home for us to enjoy and to build some amazing, sunny, and fun-filled memories. We love this island and anticipate a return visit in the future.

  A lovely, truly relaxing place to stay on the north shore! I have to echo some of the previous review - this home is immediately welcoming, comfortable, and definitely 'feels good' from the moment you walk in. I honestly think the pictures don't do it justice - one of the few times I've booked something online that turned out to be even better than the photos. The house is spacious and furnishings are beautiful and interesting. The split layout of bedrooms made it perfectly private for a couple and in-laws to stay without feeling like you were on top of each other. Super convenient access to an interesting (and, of course, beautiful - it's Kauai!) stretch of beach, and we loved relaxing downstairs among the yard and wildlife - birds, butterflies, a chicken(!) - that came to visit. Try hunting for fallen coconuts around the edges of the yard, and keep an eye out for the adorable gecko guardians on the front lanai and in the garden. Thank you, thank you, for making our first trip to Kauai and Hawaii something amazing. :)

  This house is a gem! Well appointed interior and exterior, with spacious living area, beautiful furnishings, fully equipped kitchen, large bathrooms, ocean views from living area, two bedrooms and lanai. Very clean and comfortable. The beds are great... wake up to birds singing and the gentle ocean sounds. I showered daily in the stone mosaic outdoor shower. A great experience! This house feels good the minute you drive up. It is fully landscaped and very private. The location is perfect with a quick, 3 minute walk to the beach (I had my coffee there each morning). A short walk to Tunnels beach for great snorkeling, and a short drive to Hanalei for shopping, dinner or drinks. Lots of great places in Hanalei. I cannot think of any problems I encountered at this beautiful, well cared for home. It was a perfect experience, and I would highly recommend this house to anyone. I will go back as soon as I can!

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
