It was for us a great time in this wonderfull house! Everthing comfortable ,nice, clean! Excellent place for vacation for a family!! The owner is very helpfull. When we have any extra order he helped for us immidietly. We can suggest this big nice house for everybody!

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers.

It took 42 days for us to finally receive our deposit even after multiple reminders by phone and e-mail from me to the owner and after several "the check is in the mail" responses from him. When he finally did send us the check, he withheld $200 citing "missing bath towels". There were never any bath towels in the house, only a few giveaway beach towels with company logos on them. When I questioned this (as we certainly did not take nor damage any bath towels) the owner then proclaimed a missing hair dryer, a broken towel bar and blood stained towels. At this point I am doubting the intentions of this owner as those are outrageously false accusations to us. We brought our own hair dryers, there was no destruction of property and nobody in my family was injured thus no clue from where the blood stain comments came. Seemed a bit dramatic. Notice that two of his previous guests complained of not having hand towels / linens but he passes the blame onto us. While I'm giving honest feedback he is falsely advertising his house as there was no "theatre room and excersize room" in the house that we could get to. They had some locked rooms in the basement, I can only speculate that these two rooms in his advertisement were behind those locked doors. The house is worn (e.g. cabnet doors falling off their hinges) and seems that the only thing cleaned are the floors. Finally, be very careful around the dock as there are some loose planks which are not stable at all. It's old and needs to be replaced. Good luck.

Our family spent a wonderful week at this beautiful home in September 2011 and had a great time. The pictures don’t do it justice – it’s very nicely appointed, beautifully decorated and can accommodate a good sized group very comfortably. Nice bedroom privacy for those who like a quiet place to sleep in. We were there for a relaxing family gathering, and we were treated to a nice luxurious week here at this wonderful place. The lake view and deck made for a relaxing time anytime of the day. We would strongly recommend this home to others.

Family Summer Vacation

The house has a lot of room. The lake view is beautiful. The house was clean. The house location is private and also close to Mound...groceries, and restaurants. There is no beach at this rental and many stairs to get to the water, not so good with small children (definately not handicap accessible). There is a nice, public beach about a mile down the road. The rental worked well for the 8 people we had staying in it. A few complaints were that it was not well stocked with kitchen things (silverware, only 6 plates...no bowls, 1 knife...that kind of stuff), and when you have a big rental, there should be more of these. Also, not well stocked with linens either. No extra blankets, bath towels or hand towels. The yard is small, but private. Again though, no chairs to relax on in the patio area.

Elegant living on a bluff above Lake Minnetonka

Congenial service made the arrangements to gather our family in this elegant lakefront home very pleasant. We'll definitely try to stay here again if given the opportunity. The layout and finishes of this home make it very comfortable for all types of gatherings. It is spacious and gracious! We caught some beautiful bass off the end of the dock, too. This home could easily be a five-star with a little more attention to the details. The home needs some kitchen utensils and kitchen linens, though the Portmerion dishes were very nice. There were no hand towels in bathrooms and inadequate hot water. Bedrooms are spacious with king beds, but pillows and bedside lamps were inadequate. There was no theatre or exercise room as mentioned in the listing, though cable television was available in the great room. It should be noted that the fourth bedroom/loft space cannot be closed off for privacy and does not have a shower convenient to the room. The listing should be corrected to say three full baths and one powder room. Improved maintenance, cleaning and a railing to warn of the steep drop-off in the backyard would be wise. The large garage was very nice. This home is lovely and in a quiet location with breath-taking overlooks of the lake. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The pictures could be updated to reflect current decor and better show the elegance of the home.
