Accommodations:  Apartment, Studio, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)

The La Giulia Rome apartment is located on a charming, small street just off Via Giulia in a 17th century building. Perfect for visitors who want the conveniences of an apartment in Rome in the historic center with all major sites within walking distance.

For additional information see the URL below for our website.

La Giulia is on the second floor (first floor European) and is entered directly off the lobby of the building. Once inside the apartment’s front door, walk one flight up a wrought iron spiral staircase and you are in the apartment. It is a comfortable studio apartment that is in an excellent location right in the center of this elegant, exciting neighborhood.

As you step into the apartment from the staircase, the living room seating area is to your left, in front of a set of beautiful windows facing over the street. Behind the living area, to your left, is the sleeping alcove. Another set of windows is directly in front of you as you, just opposite the top of the stairs. To your right is the dining area with designer lighting over the table. Just behind you, to the right, is the efficiency kitchen and the bathroom.

The windows have picturesque flower boxes planted with seasonal flowers and look out onto the charming street, letting light and air into the apartment. They are set into dramatic arched niches adding an historic architectural element to the apartment. The floors are beautiful polished terra-cotta tiles.

The apartment was completely remodeled in 2002 and is tastefully furnished with a neutral palette of whites, cream and red accent pieces in the living room area and a modern dining table with seating for four people. It has a large, stunning, stone fireplace mantle surrounding a (non-working) fireplace between the dining area and the bathroom.

The living room seating area has a comfortable sofa upholstered in white. The apartment furnishings mix modern touches, set against an antique backdrop, that keep the feel fresh and comfortable. The queen-size bed in the sleeping alcove has suspended lamps on either side of the bed for reading. Cheerful linens and a soft duvet beckon for an afternoon siesta after a busy day of exploring the enchantments of Rome. The ceiling above the bed has beautiful exposed beams and stucco. At the foot of the bed is a freestanding closet and storage area.

The kitchen is a small efficiency-style, hidden behind folding louvered doors. You can fix breakfast or toss together a simple dinner from the fresh ingredients obtained that morning at the Campo de’ Fiori market only a stone’s throw away. It has a three-burner gas cook top, an under-the-counter refrigerator, a sink and a microwave. The kitchen comes with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Along the wall just before the kitchen area is a sleek buffet cabinet that holds serving pieces.

The bathroom was remodeled in 2006. It is small, but is completely up-to-date with the latest fixtures and brass taps. When you enter the bathroom the shower is immediately in front of you and has a shower curtain enclosure attached to the wall that forms the enclosure. The shower drain is in the center of the bathroom floor which is common in Italy for tiny bathrooms in order to make the most efficient use of limited space. When not in use, the shower curtain is gathered against the wall to provide access to the sink. The sink, with a large mirror over it, is on the facing wall directly opposite the bathroom entrance. The toilet is to your right.

About the Location:
The Campo de’ Fiori is the neighborhood of Renaissance Rome where the power mongers built their palaces, such as Palazzo Farnese and Palazzo Spada. We know the importance of location, location, location, and this part of Rome qualifies as one of the best due to its proximity to the major sites and the everyday conveniences of local restaurants, pizzerias, cafes, and the Campo de’ Fiori market.

Step out the door and choose between elegant antique shops and art galleries to your right, only half a block away on Via Giulia . Or walk two blocks to your left and select from the freshest produce for tonight’s dinner at Rome’s most famous open air market, the Campo de’ Fiori, meaning "field of flowers".

Soak up the morning sunshine and enjoy an espresso at Caffe Farnese café just around the corner. Or stop off at the end of a full day and enjoy an afternoon gelato or an early evening aperitif. After picking up some fresh fruit or a savory seasoning mix to enhance your pasta sauce from one of the colorful stalls in Campo de’ Fiori, stop into Roscioli, a deli famous for prosciutto, mortadella, salami, cheese, and olives.

Via Giulia is a beautiful street for strolling, window-shopping and people watching, as are Piazza Farnese and Campo de’ Fiori. Many of the streets are named for the merchants that once populated the area: Via del Giubbonari - the jacket makers, Via della Barchetta - the boat builders, Via degli Specchi - street of mirrors.

Only a few minutes walk and you’re at Piazza Navona or the Pantheon. Cross the Tiber and you’re in scenic Trastevere. The Vatican, the Colosseum, the Forum, the Spanish Steps are reasonable walk if you want to work off that pasta and wine from the night before. If your feet are crying for mercy, they are an easy bus or cab ride. Just a few blocks away is Largo Argentina, one of the major bus stops where there is bus transportation available all over the city.

We really enjoyed it, most of all dealing with you because of your experience. Loved the location, the bathroom not the best, but having a [loaner cell] phone was great and all your tips. Loved Rome. We hired a guide through Rick Steves. Loved the bed and real coffee pot. We will always try to go through you and your service. Lynn M. , California

La Guilia was a wonderful little spot, away from the noise but a few moments to be in the wonderfully upbeat area of Piazza Farnese and Campo dei Fiori. Great people-watching. So many good pizza places. Traveling solo, it was good to feel safe, comfortable and in such close access to terrific eating spots. Piazza Navone was a neighbor and it, along with other nearly all the other sites were so easy to visit twice on foot. Never used a bus or taxi because the walking to nearly every interest was just the exercise needed after a steady diet of pizza, pasta and gelato! Apartment was comfortable and felt like home right away. The terrific Pierluigi, and Osteria del Pesce were moments from the door. Lynn, Ashland, OR

This apartment was a dream come true. It was our first time in Rome and the location and size was just perfect for the two of us. It was very clean and we had no issues whatsoever. We were in the center of everything in the city. We walked everywhere, the Vatican, Imperial Rome, Campo di Fiori, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, etc. Everything was a short walk from this apartment. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Rome. I can't recommend ItalyPerfect and La Guilia enough!! K G, Michigan

We loved La Giulia. We loved the ruby-tiled bathroom. We loved the winding wrought-iron staircase. We loved the deep window wells. We loved the location. You prepared us well. We appreciated having our train ticket in hand to Florence in advance. We appreciated the guidebooks in the flat. The only drawback, if I must list one, would be the European-style bathroom with the shower right in with the sink, but I've lived in Italy and I know that's how they mostly are. The water pressure was great and we had lots of hot water so, really, wiping off the mirror now and then is nothing to speak of. Thank you for running such a delightful flat. When we return, we will seek out La Guilia again, without hesitation. Many thanks. K.S., San Francisco, CA

Thank you for the excellent service you provided. We had a wonderful time in Rome. We loved the apartment; it was cozy and comfortable and perfectly located. It was an easy walk to most of the major sights or we could just hop on a bus without any problems. It was great going "home" to our "own apartment" and started to feel like the locals. Francesca was very nice and we are looking forward to returning next year. Vanessa Gonzalez, Glendale, CA

Haven't had the chance to thank you and Francesca for the wonderful "little home" we stayed in for the week of Mar. 22-30. You're right the location was/is perfect. We walked all over (a total of 75+ miles) between our week in Paris and our week in Rome. I must say Rome was much warmer. Again, thank you for making our stay absolutely wonderful. Hopefully we'll be able to visit you next year. Sheila & Bill Wakida Jackson, California

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay in La Giulia. The location is exceptional. The apartment was actually larger than I had anticipated. The small bathroom and shower arrangement was not an issue. Working with Lisa at Italy Perfect was a pure joy. It is a first class service. Thank You! Sam & Maura, Philadelphia, PA
