Navona apartment description
Italy Perfect Winner of Trip Advisor-FlipKey's Award of Excellence 2011, 2012, 2013. Travel & Leisure Magazine Italy All-Star 2013.
2 people maximum. This apartment has 7-night minimum. If you need fewer nights please see the link below to our other listings which have shorter minimum booking periods.
The La Giulia Rome apartment is located on a charming, small street just off Via Giulia in a 17th century building. Perfect for visitors who want the conveniences of an apartment in Rome in the historic center with all major sites within walking distance.
For additional information see the URL below for our website.
La Giulia is on the second floor (first floor European) and is entered directly off the lobby of the building. Once inside the apartment’s front door, walk one flight up a wrought iron spiral staircase and you are in the apartment.
As you step into the apartment from the staircase, the living room seating area is to your left, in front of a set of beautiful windows facing over the street. Behind the living area, to your left, is the sleeping alcove. Another set of windows is directly in front of you as you, just opposite the top of the stairs. To your right is the dining area. Just behind you, to the right, is the kitchen and the bathroom.
The windows have picturesque flower boxes planted with seasonal flowers and look out onto the charming street, letting light and air into the apartment. They are set into dramatic arched niches adding an historic architectural element to the apartment. The floors are polished terra-cotta tiles.
The living room seating area has a love seat sofa upholstered in white. (Note, the sofa does NOT open into a sleeper sofa.) The queen-size bed in the sleeping alcove has suspended lamps on either side of the bed for reading. Cheerful linens and a soft duvet beckon for an afternoon siesta after a busy day of exploring the enchantments of Rome. The ceiling above the bed has beautiful exposed beams and stucco. At the foot of the bed is a freestanding closet and storage area.
The kitchen is a small efficiency-style, hidden behind folding louvered doors. It is best for light meal preparation with a 2-burner hot plate, small refrigerator and microwave. Nearby is the Campo de’ Fiori market where you can buy fresh produce.
The bathroom is small, but is completely up-to-date with the latest fixtures and a fully enclosed shower.
About the Location:
The Campo de’ Fiori is the neighborhood of Renaissance Rome where the power mongers built their palaces, such as Palazzo Farnese and Palazzo Spada. We know the importance of location, location, location, and this part of Rome qualifies as one of the best due to its proximity to the major sites and the everyday conveniences of local restaurants, pizzerias, cafes, and the Campo de’ Fiori market.
Soak up the morning sunshine and enjoy an espresso at Caffe Farnese café just around the corner. Or stop off at the end of a full day and enjoy an afternoon gelato or an early evening aperitif. After picking up some fresh fruit or a savory seasoning mix to enhance your pasta sauce from one of the colorful stalls in Campo de’ Fiori, stop into Roscioli, a deli famous for prosciutto, mortadella, salami, cheese, and olives.
Via Giulia is a beautiful street for strolling, window-shopping and people watching, as are Piazza Farnese and Campo de’ Fiori.
Only a few minutes walk and you’re at Piazza Navona or the Pantheon. Cross the Tiber and you’re in scenic Trastevere. The Vatican, the Colosseum, the Forum, the Spanish Steps are reasonable walk if you want to work off that pasta and wine from the night before. If your feet are crying for mercy, they are an easy bus or cab ride. Just a few blocks away is Largo Argentina, one of the major bus stops where there is bus transportation available all over the city.

We had the best vacation ever!
The La Giulia apartment was absolutely ideal for our Rome stay. We know Rome well and this location cannot be beat. Apartment was nice and clean. Greeter spoke excellent English. Lisa at Italy Perfect was so helpful during the booking process and as we prepared for our trip, answering our questions promptly and courteously. Thank you!

My wife and I were very pleased with this property. It's not as close to Piazza Navona as I expected, but all and all was an excellent choice. As walkers, we found the location quite convenient, and there are a zillion restaurants within a few blocks. We would also be happy to recommend Italy Perfect, as all arrangements were handled quite professionally. Thank you, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. It is an 8-minute walk to Piazza Navona.

Great apartment for 2, terrific location. I note that a couple of concerns we noted when we stayed here 2 years ago were addressed. We recommend this property to others. The only concern I have is the required practice of dumping our garbage in a street side trash bin outside the apartment. I find this offensive and just plain wrong. Reply from Italy Perfect: Thank you for your repeat stays at the La Giulia apartment. Unfortunately the Rome trash system is beyond our control which requires one to walk to a dumpster to dispose of trash since trash service within the building is not provided by the government trash service.

We had a wonderful stay!
La Giulia was perfectly situated for everything we wanted to see and do; just across the Tiber from the heart of Trastevere with Piazza Farnese and Campo Fiori around the corner, the Piazza Navona a further five minute stroll and Castle St. Angelo and the Vatican a mere 20 minutes away. The apartment itself was comfortable and cosy, a perfect place to return for a late afternoon nap before going out to choose a restaurant for dinner. If you go, you must have the cheesecake at Ar Galletto on the Piazza Farnese. It seems that Romans do not go out for breakfast, for it is difficult to find a place for coffee and a pastry before 9:00 AM. We recommend laying in tea &/or coffee, sugar, milk and cookies or pastry and eating in in the morning before hitting the cobbles. Highly recommended!

Exceptional ExperienceGuest comment entered by owner
Amazing experience. Great location within walking distance of the Forum, Vatican, Piazza Navona, Trastevere, and most major sites. Close to Campo do Fior with daily vegetable and fruit market but on a quite side street in an elegant neighborhood a block from the Tiber. Many excellent restaurants nearby off the tourist beat. Small and cozy but much larger than a hotel room. Well appointed. Italy Perfect did a great job with logistics, arrangements and advice regarding car service, restaurants and guides.

Great Location for Exploring RomeGuest comment entered by owner
Great Location for Exploring Rome
The La Giulia apartment was great and my wife and I had a great time. It was nice to be able to cook our own meals from time to time and relax over some home made ice tea after an afternoon of exploring the city. The apartment is right in the middle of Rome and we were able to easily walk to the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, or the Vatican. The nearby Campo de Fiori and the surrounding area is filled with great restaurants and the city is magical. There are a number of guidebooks at the apartment but we found the cards of City Walks: Rome: 50 Adventures on Foot to be really nice and helpful exploring the city for the first time. I recommend tucking a few in your pocket for whichever area of the city you are visiting that day.

A Rave Review
I am just back (very reluctantly) from Rome, and wanted you to know that La Giulia more than fulfilled my expectations - it was, simply put, ideal. This was my third visit to the city, and by far the most satisfying. I can't wait to go back, and I will plan my dates around the availability of "my" studio. Stupendo!

We were so delighted
We were so delighted with our little studio apartment. It was clean, providing the comfort that we find at home. Especially with my husband being in Afghanistan, finding it most appealing. The bed was comfortable, kitchen efficient for preparing meals, which we did! The location was so perfect lending access to a small local market, public bus, walking to Vatican City only a few miles away. Many many walking locations. All easy to get around and about. We certainly would recommend this apartment

Great location to savor RomeGuest comment entered by owner
Great location to savor Rome
This was our third stay in La Guilia. It really feels like home. With the improvements, the new shower and air conditioner it was even better. The location is just perfect, we walked to all the sites from here. Campo diFiore is just wonderful for fresh fruits and veggies every day. DaBufetto is great for pizza. Alfredo e Ada is the best Restaurant we have been to. Via Banchi Nuovi 14, closed weekends. it is near S Angelo Bridge. Trastevere is a five minute walk, lot's of sights and good food. Piazza Navona, 10 minute walk for nightly entertainment and gelotto. This is a great location to just savor Rome and to be part of the experience, rather than just a tourist.
