We had a fabulous time. This place was amazing. We loved the time we spent with Steve and Bailey. I cannot believe how wonderful this place is. We could not stop recommending hie place to everyone on our wine tasting trip. Completely awesome!!!! I have never placed a review before but had to considering how wonderful our time spent here was. Besides that Steve's wine is INCREDIBLE!!!! I WANT TO GO BACK SO VERY SOON.Owner response: Hi Darla, Thank you for your very kind and enthusiastic review, you're very kind. I'm glad you and Phil enjoyed your stay and had a fun time here in Paso Robles. Hopefully I will have my 2012 Zin bottled by your next visit (after Sept). Anyway, thanks again and hope to see you again, Steve

This was our second trip to Paso to attend the Savor the Central Coast event. Steve's attention to detail is impeccable. The room was clean, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Steve is a wonderful host and very accommodating, thoughtful and a good guy. We enjoyed meeting him and getting to know him. Very knowledgeable about wineries and wine making. I would highly recommend staying here above anywhere else. We had previously stayed in a two bedroom house which was nice but did not hold a candle to the ambiance at Steve's place, The room is large enough for two and meticulously arranged as if it were in Steve's own house. It does not feel like a rental, but a guest room in your friend's home. You felt comfortable and welcomed at all times. There were days when we did not see Steve and days when we sought him out because he was such a great host, a true gentleman, and has a great sense of humor. We also loved Bailey. We can't say enough about our stay or about Steve!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Quiet, clean, great place to stay when visiting Paso Robles! Steve is a wonderful host. The guest house is impeccable and Steve provided wine, coffee, and drinks in the mini fridge. It was close to town, yet far enough to feel like a private retreat. The bed is also one of the most comfy I've ever slept in!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Elizabeth, thank you for taking the time to write this review, you're very kind. I enjoyed meeting you and I'm glad you had a fun visit. Hope to see you again, Steve

Recently stayed at Steve’s guest house for a couple of days on our way to the coast. We found Steve very friendly, gracious and interested in seeing that we were comfortable in every way. The guest house was clean, neat, and similar to an upscale hotel suite. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the spacious shower. In the mornings we walked the hills of the Santa Ysabel Ranch which is adjacent to Steve’s property. This location is country quiet with expansive views and just a few miles to Paso Robles. You’re going to like the great sunsets from the deck. We’ll be staying again in the future for sure. Hal & GlendaRecommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Hi Hal, I'm glad that you and Glenda enjoyed your stay here at the Guest House and everything was satisfactory. I also appreciate you taking the time to write such a nice review, you're very kind. Also, it was nice to know that both of you liked my 2011 Zin, the 2012 you saw in the wine room turned out even better!. Look forward to seeing you next year. Thanks again, Steve

We stayed at Steve's guest house for our anniversary weekend and can't say enough of the level of accommodations and his friendly hospitality! A great central location for Paso . . . close enough to downtown, but quiet and secluded as well. His guesthouse was also well appointed and very comfortable (we actually decided to stay and lounge one afternoon instead of venturing out more). We will definitely be back and recommend his retreat to others. Thanks Steve!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Troy, Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review, I appreciate it. I'm glad you and Cindy enjoyed your stay and I look forward to your next visit. BTW, if you want the blueprints to the wine building, I'll be happy to send them to you. Take care and thanks again, Steve

I took my boyfriend to Paso Robles for our anniversary and I couldn't have picked a better place! Very modern, charming, spacious, and clean guest house with a wonderful owner. We went for a morning walk around the property and drove to the wineries that Steve suggested. We felt so welcome! Great atmosphere and overall a wonderful expereince! We already told a lot of our friends about Steve's guesthouse :) Looking forward to our next visit! PS. Thank you Steve for your hospitality!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

My family just came back from staying at this property. We couldn't say enough good things about it and have already started to pass the word to friends who frequent Paso Robles! The room was plenty big enough for my husband and I and our two kids. Our 5 year old fit perfectly on the love seat and there was tons of room for a playpen for our infant daughter. I've been to many high end hotels and this space ranked up there with the best. It looks just like it does in the photos - it's spacious, well-appointed, very clean (I consider myself picky), and quiet. Steve was always really quick to respond to any emails I sent prior to our trip. We won't hesitate to rent this guest house again - LOVED it!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Kristine, Wow, thank you for your kind words and thank you for taking the time to post this review. I'm glad you had a good time here in Paso Robles and enjoyed the wedding at Denner. I look forward to your next visit and hope you can get in a little more wine tasting. Take care and thanks again, Steve

We just spent the Paso Wine Fest weekend staying in Steve's guest studio apartment. What a wonderful experience! What's so great about this place, aside from the fact that Steve is so friendly and welcoming (and has the coolest dog Bailey!), is that it's a 5 min drive into downtown Paso - but you have the experience of being in the country! Enjoy beautiful views of vineyards, rolling hills, oak trees, and pastures, and still be downtown in a short drive. The room feels new & updated and is perfect and spacious for two. We highly recommend and hope to stay here again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Nancy, Sorry it took so long to respond to your review, I was out of town when it posted and didn't see it. Anyway, thanks for the great review and taking the time to write it, I really appreciate it. Hope to see you in the near future, take care, Steve

After spending two weeks at The Guest House, we've decided this is a perfect vacation destination. Steve is a wonderful host along with Bailey his year old chocolate lab. They are very welcoming and along with beautiful surroundings, wine tasting, great restaurants and shopping, made our stay perfect. The Guest House is a great place to stay for wine tasting, day trips and relaxing, everything that was promised in the description and more. Thanks Steve and Baily, hope to see you in the future...........Pat & JulieRecommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Pat and Julie, Thank you for for such a nice review, you're so kind. I really enjoyed meeting you and I appreciate you taking Bailey for her morning walk. I hope you decide to move out here so we can be neighbors. Take care, Steve

About the owner: We have a true passion for wine and winemaking. Paso Robles offers a unique micro-climate and rich soil which provides for the perfect canvas to pursue the art of fine wine making. We love the Central Coast lifestyle and all that it offers. We have opened our guest home to visitors so that we can share our passion for this beautiful area and the serenity that it has to offer.
Why the Owner Chose Paso Robles:
We have been visiting Paso Robles since 1988 and have enjoyed the undiscovered natural landscape of the Central Coast. We watched Paso’s progressive advancements in the wine industry and culinary achievements which have evolved, while still maintaining a friendly local atmosphere true to it’s heritage. Wanting to be a part of the community, we relocated to Paso Robles and took up wine making as our second career. We adore the area, the culture, the people, the local arts & music, and the excitement of continued advancements.
