My husband and I welcomed my sister and her family to Boston for the festivities around July 4th. This was their first time to Boston, so we wanted to spend some time in the city and in the Cape. The owner was very accommodating to let us stay four days instead of the typical 7 day minimum for most houses in the Cape in the summer (we wanted to be back in the city for the big fireworks!). The house was very clean and tidy, and there was plenty of room for all of us, which included two young children. We had a slight mishap with the hot water the first night, but the owner was incredibly diligent about getting it resolved early the next day and it was! We walked or drove to Craigville beach and it was a breeze! We also enjoyed the very close Four Seas Ice Cream, which is a short walk from the house, among many of the other things to do and places to see that the owner recommended in a very nice letter pre-stay. We had a wonderful time and accrued some amazing family memories that will last a lifetime. We would definitely rent again. In fact, my husband and I are considering renting during the off season to experience the Cape in the winter months!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

This is a very lovely apartment - spacious and clean. We are a family of five and were quite comfortable for a week. The location is perfect - great for day trips to Provincetown or Chatham and for the Whale Watch out of Barnstable. It's walking distance to Craigville beach which saves the parking fee so that's a big bonus if you're planning lots of beach time. We had a wonderful vacation and highly recommend this property. It is a second storey apartment though and might not be suitable for people with mobility issues.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I had a GREAT time on our vacation!! Not only was the house light, bright and spotless, it was so centrally located! We were near the beach, great stores, places to eat and a triple plus being close enough to walk to 4 Seas Ice Cream!! This past week had record hot tempertures but we were not effected by it at all! The 2 ac's cooled the entire place! If all of that isnt enough to get to you stay here, its also pet friendly! Our little Shih-Tzu Patches had a wonderful time staying there too!! I highly recommend you booking your next weeks vacation here to have the best vacation EVER!!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

We had a wonderful vacation at this house and found it to have everything we could ask for. Everything inside is new, crisp and clean. We loved the back deck where we grilled almost everyday and the evening stroll to the ice cream parlor every night became a ritual. It was nice to be close enough to the beach to either ride bikes, or even walk -- the walk is just lovely. This is a wonderful place to experience a real old-fashioned Cape Cod vacation. We will return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2003
About the owner: I am a writer who lives in New York but comes up to the Cape frequently.
Why the Owner Chose Centerville:
I love Centerville--it is quiet and close to the beach. It's a nice walk to Four Seas Ice Cream and to the library and general store. I love that Centerville is so close to Hyannis and Osterville--I find that I almost never leave the area when I'm visiting-everything I need is right here..
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
I love Four Seas, Craigville Beach, the Centerville library. I love to watch a Red Sox game sitting at the bar at Wimpy's--barely a five minute drive from the house.
