SPECIAL NOTE:
This is NOT a traditional rental property. It is the owner's summer home.
The home took 8 years to decorate. It was home to one of one of Orlando's premier interior artist/decorators. All walls are treated. Many are Venetian plaster. Others are 'faux', 'ragged', etc. Furniture is a combination of hand picked designer pieces, antiques or antique reproductions. Bed and wall coverings are from well known designers, professionally chosen/made to coordinate with the rooms' ceilings, wall and window coverings. The dining room seats 8. Minton, Royal Daulton and Dresden china and crystal. Silverplate flatware and serving set.
The gardens and bird areas are lovingly maintained.
This house will appeal to a single/couple living in an upscale home/apt. in the north or Europe who want to relax for the winter in the kind of home-like setting they're used to.
Plant your own flowers/plants or work with ours. Feed the birds, Bring your own materials and use the lakeside artist's studio. Add your own movies to our collection. And if you want to come back next year, you're welcome to store your things in the attic above the garage,
Home description:
If you love Venetian design and architecture, you will love this home. Our friends describe it as The Venetian Hotel meets 'On Golden Pond'. The artist created each room to make its own statement.
Her specialty is Venetian plaster and 'faux' paint. Her mastery of these art-forms is apparent throughout the house.
To maintain the Venetian theme, most floors are diamond polished, imported Travertine tile.
Foyer.
As you enter the home, the den/office is on the right through a set of french doors. The dining room is to the left. On the floor in front of you is a custom designed Travertine inlay. Ahead is the billiards room framed by two Venetian columns. You look through the double set of french doors in the billiards room out past the pool and deck at the lake.
Office/Library.
New Acer computer, W7, Vizio widescreen monitor and sound system in wall/desk unit. New Brother laser printer/fax/scanner included. Matching ceiling fan with remote.
Dining room.
The Venetian theme is the strongest here. The ceiling and crown molding is 'faux' painted in gold. The walls match with Venetian plaster and wainscot. The dining room set is exquisite. There is an antique reproduction in front of the window. The breakfront displays Royal Daulton figurines and Waterford Crystal.
Kitchen.
The kitchen presents a French, countryside theme. The walls are brick face. The cabinetry is hand-painted solid wood. Most appliances are built-in. The counter top is the artist's own design using colored, slate tiles that coordinate with the 3 colors of the kitchen cabinetry.
Family room.
The french doors/windows are framed with Ralph Lauren drapes. Relax in the oversized, electric leather couches and chairs. End tables and a bombay style Venetian, marble cabinet complete the room. 55" LED Samsung TV with builtin media player and NetFlix. French doors lead to the pool area.
Games room.
The ceiling is a reproduction of the one in the Caesar's Shops. To the left is an antique french fireplace and mirror. To the right is a one of a kind, Venetian, porcelain wall painting.
Master suite.
The sunken master suite's walls are the artist's own personal creation. Linens and coverings are designer. Stanley's, hand painted, black lacquer Portofino collection was chosen for this room. Instead of a King mattress/box set, there are 2 articulating beds with upgraded mattresses and individual remote controls allowing each partner his/her own sleeping or TV viewing position. The TV is a 45" Samsing LED (razor thin) model with a WDTV media player. The suite includes an armoire, 3 dressers and a large secretary desk in the main room. The walkin and straight closets have custom cherry organizers. All of the closet space is available for use.
Ensuite
At the end of the hallway, past the closets, at the front of the house is the sunken tub. To the left is a very large, glassed, frameless shower. . To the right is a dual vanity with individual mirrors. There are 2 sinks built into the cultured marble counter top. The private toilet facility includes a bidet.
Guest area
On the other side of the house is the guest facility. There are 2 guest rooms and a shared washroom that also leads to the pool area. One guest room uses a french countryside design. On the bed is an original, limited edition Ralph Lauren comforter. The bed and dresser are antique french reproductions. The other guest room doubles as an office/work area with an antique french day bed that doubles as a sofa during the day.
Pool and garden.
The pool deck area is very private. Neighbors have no view of this area. Weekly pool maintenance is included. There are gardens on both sides and at the rear of the pool. There is a fruit bearing, Valencia (orange) tree on the lower, left side of the yard. Behind the terrace, on the west side of the house, is a working herb garden. You are welcome to grow your own plants/flowers and do your own landscaping to compliment ours. The landscapers come once a week. That too is included in the rental. The house is surrounded by plants and flowers. Feel free to add to our gardens.
Beach and lake.
The lake is spring fed and crystal clear. Only electric motors are allowed. If you like to fish, you can cast from the pier or head over to the weedy areas in the jon boat. You can see the bass jumping out of the water on hot days.
Lakeside studio.
The owner uses the studio to paint. You can paint or sculpt there or use it as a place to work or even put a bunk bed in there for young guests to camp out.

About the owner: The owners are ex-Canadians living in Uruguay. The husband is a retired builder. The wife is a retired interior decorator.
Why the Owner Chose Ocoee:
The Orlando area is a fabulous place to live with thousands of things to do and places to see. It's so easy to get to with direct flights fly to Orlando from literally every major city in the world.
Ocoee is just outside the city. We're in an upscale subdivision that was built in the early 1990's so it has mature trees and landscaping. That gives it a nice, forested feel but there's a big supermarket (Publix) and super drugstore (Walgreens), 4 blocks away.
