Upon your approach to beautiful St. Simons Island you cross the vast ever changing marshes that connect Brunswick, Jekyll and our island paradise. Drive through the charming village under the canopy of the Live Oaks and Spanish Moss and you feel instant relief from all the stresses of daily life. On your way to East Beach, enjoy the variety of architecture and quaint beach cottages.
When you reach East Beach, continue along Ocean Drive overlooking Bloody Marsh on your left. You will soon arrive at Fifth St; turn right and our home, Curacao, will be immediately on your left. Our newly renovated home is just a short stroll to the beach.
Walk through the beautifully landscaped Mediterranean style courtyard and enter another world inside Curacao, where you will be awestruck by the attention to architectural details and views from every room. This one story home is surrounded by stone patios, courtyards and a very private outdoor entertainment area including a large heated pool and spa. In addition to all the outdoor space, there is an amazing 400 sf Screened Porch with outdoor kitchen, alfresco dining, comfortable lounging and adjacent to the wet bar with icemaker and beverage refrigerator.
All living is on one level and beautifully appointed for entertaining or cozy vacation retreats. The interior boasts vaulted beamed ceilings and travertine floors with a Great Room and Fireplace, 55' HDTV with Surround Sound, Dining for 8-10 and a large Gourmet Kitchen with a Professional Gas Range, 2 Dishwashers and large central Island for friendly gatherings.
There is a large Master Suite including Spa Bath with King Size Bed, HDTV with seperate Media Center and a lovely Office area for your computer needs -all opening to the pool area. In addition, there is a Guest Suite with Queen bed and a Private Bath, plus Two additional Bedrooms with Queen Beds and a shared Jack and Jill bath.
Other amenities include Powder Room, Large Laundry with Pantry, Outdoor Shower and even a Garage for your golf cart, kayaks or beach paraphernalia.
Curacao has expansive, inviting spaces that can handle a large gathering for a family reunion or corporate retreat and still provide very comfortable privacy. Even for a small party of 2-4, this home is very warm and intimate. The designers have thought of everything!

What a wonderful vacation home. Can not say enough good things. We always stay in vacation homes since we travel with a pet. This home is by far the best we have ever stayed in. The layout is perfect. The kitchen is a cooks dream, the screened in porch with the large gas grill was the icing on the cake. The house is so nice it's hard to leave to go to the beach, which is very close. Thank you so much for the use of your fabulous home, it was exactly as pictured or better. We will defiently be back !!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We just returned home from our week at Curacao. Coming home is a real let down after such an amazing week in this dream home. Absolutely a perfect vacation home. They have thought of everything. Beautiful decor, amazing kitchen, the bedrooms and baths are luxurious. We have rented 4 different homes in the last 4 years, two of which here on St. Simons. This one was by far the best. This was especially great for us since we vacationed with our 4 grandchildren all under the age of 4 because it's a ranch style. No Stairs! Yay! The only thing that worried us was the easy access to the pool area with 3 toddlers around. We had to be on our toes... We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for such a great vacation!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Loved the house. It was the perfect layout for my sister and I to bring our kids and still have lots of space.The decor is amazing. We walked and ran the dog on the beach every day. Ate 50¢ oysters at Catch 228. Burrowing crabs, birds nesting at the edge of the marsh, huge egrets. Met the builder. The elegance of it all. What a perfect time we at Curacao! The house is breathtaking...from arrival through the kitchen, sitting areas, great bathrooms and on out to the beautiful pool and garden. You left no detail out and your careful attention to execution was apparent throughout the inside and out! We had a ball and thank you so so much for sharing your piece of paradise with us. Our stay from 10/15/2011-10/22/2011, from the moment we turned the key in the door, we knew this home was special. The home is outfitted to the max, some items and utensils normally brought with us were not needed, as they were already in place. The only issues we encountered was very difficult to operate electronics ( TV, Stereo, Surround system, and speaker zones), and the exhaust fan over the grill on the screened porch was inoperable. The only thing I/we would add, is a flat screen TV on the porch. The whole week including weather and guests, was outstanding!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: We are Gail Cook and Lance Lipman, residents of Atlanta, GA for 30+ years. We purchased this home in 2010 and designed a whole house renovation, including New Kitchen, all New Baths and added a fabulous Screened Porch with Outdoor Kitchen, Swimming Pool/Spa and Golf Cart Garage. Gail is a longtime homebuilder and used her talents to make this home a very unique experience for family, friends and visitors. We have 2 children with many friends and our beloved dog, Bear, so this home is definitely family and pet friendly. We enjoy every minute that we can spend on SSI.
Why the Owner Chose East Beach:
In 2009, on a 'whim', we decided to go to the King and Prince Hotel for Thanksgiving. We had not been to SSI for 30 years, but as soon as we arrived we knew that we had found the beach community that we had always dreamed about. For the next year, we made several trips to the island learning about the various living options and decided that East Beach offered us everything on our wish list. Beach access, Marsh views, and easy access to all of the amenities that SSI has to offer.
