  We stayed for 3 nights. The unit was very clean and well decorated. The entire resort was very lovely but we found the pools were on the cool side...maybe it was quite windy during our stay. Nonetheless we were happy with our choice and we will come back to Honua Kai next time we are in Maui.

  Just back from a week in this wonderful piece of paradise. Brooke met us at Honua Kai, even though we arrived after 10 on a Sunday, and introduced us to this fabulous spot. The pictures do not do it justice, and my family loved it. My two young sons spent hours in the pools, we swam with sea turtles just off the beach, and watched humpback whales breaching (from the beach, and from the lanai!). The suite is new - and perfect for an extended stay. No complaints at all. Thanks Brooke - we'll be back!

  The condo is very nice. The resort is very nice. Maui is very nice. Brooke brings it all together. The condo has everything you nedd including starter items like soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. Great location with semi-nice view. Very quiet. Impossible to say anything but good things about the condo and Brooke.

  This place was great!!! The resort is new and the 1-Bedroom suite was very nice. I rented through Harris Hawaii and they were very professional and handled everything perfectly. The snorkeling in front of the hotel is very good (saw two big turtles) and is much less crowded then the hotels next to Black Rock. Overall, a great experience.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

  We stayed for 4 nights at this condo. Everything was as stated in the listing and more. Brooke provided great customer service from the start! He made sure he knew exactly when we would be arriving and was there to meet us with the key and show us around our lovily temporary home. The condo was beautiful with all top of the line amenities. You felt like you were at a hotel with all the amenities of pools, beach rentals, restaurant by the beach, service by the pool, but you also had all the comforts of home. My kids slept great in the pull-out sofa and my husband and I enjoyed the very comfortable king size bed. There were beach towels and some boogie boards and beach toys in the condo. The condo also provided all the pots, pans dishes and basics that you need, as well as laundry facilities. The pools and hot tubs were great, not crowded and warmer than the average pools. The beach was also nice. You are at the north end of Kaanapali beach. We liked it because it was a little more quiet and less crowded, but you can walk all the way to Kaanapali if you want. We loved the location and the condo. It was very relaxing and we would definitely stay at this property again. We would also recommend Brooke Moore as our rental agent, as he provided great customer service and made sure that we had a wonderful stay!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

  A really nice place for a family. Ther bifold doors out to the porch really expanded the living area. It was great to have the laundry right there. The resort is really gorgeous. The pools wonderful. We will definitely stay here again.

• Great Condo Value With Kids

  We have been coming to Kaanapali for 5 straight years, 2 weeks each time. This was our 2nd straight stay at Honua Kai - Hokulani Tower. We prefer Honua Kai as it is one of the newest resorts in all of West Maui with decent amenities. Our first stay was an inner courtyard ground floor unit which was fine for the kids to come and go, however we never saw the sun facing North and there seems to be more wind in the courtyard. We discovered Unit #418 on the property managers web site and knew it was facing South which was preferred and it turned out to be much less windy on this side as opposed to the couryard. The view from #418 offered a nice combination of the ocean, palms, mountains, and the island of Lanai off in the distance. The construction site next door is at least dormant for now, so was very quiet, no road noise despite highway being close by. The Unit was very comfortable and well furnished (nice king bed) and the kitchen included high quality appliances, although we used the common bbq every other night (note that common bbq's are hard to light in the wind, but very handy). We already knew we had to bring our own food & supplies (can you say Costco run) - really depends on how you are going to want to use the condo (eat in or go out or a little of both). The sofa bed worked out well with our 2 kids and oversized full bathroom. Storage space is minimal as the lanai is off limits, but you figure things out soon enough. We would consider this Unit again or other similar Unit facing South or West in Hokulani. The adjacent Konea Tower is slighlty newer, but again, not sure about the wind issue on Konea. We found Brooke and Harris Hawaii very professional and organized and would consider them again in the future. Enjoy & Mahalo !.

  While the property was nice, we were very disappointed that there was not ONE condiment left in the cupboard or fridge.Our friends staying in another room had salt, pepper, oil, mustard, ziploc bags, foil wrap....same as what we have had at other rentals in Maui. If you're not going to supply even the most essential day to day products, say so in your rental story. To have to go and buy all those things is ridiculous, considering the price paid to stay there. We were supposed to have some long distance calls available, not true either. The glass on the small round lanai table was missing, Brooke said he'd get it asap. Didn't happen in the 2 weeks we were there. In the future we will make sure we rent from an owner that is Canadian, they seem to be more accommodating to fellow Canadians. Like having an umbrella, coolers..., that can be used when going to the beaches.

This suite is pretty darn new and many of the guests that have stayed in this suite did not cook so they did not leave anything behind, and if the item looks old I have my housekeepers throw out those items so it doesn't get someone sick with someone else's germs.   This was a exactly what we had hoped for in our Maui vacation! We have two kids under 5 and Honua Kai couldn't have been a better place to spend an extended period of time. The facility was immaculate and yet incredibly kid friendly. Brooke and team made the check-in and departure seemless even meeting us late on a Friday evening to check in. There were no negative surprises. The condo itself couldn't have been easier to live in and was perfectly adorned.

  My boyfriend & I went to Maui this past October for a friend's wedding and chose to stay at the Honua Kai Resort. We ran across this website and felt that it was trustworthy after having all of our questions answered on the phone. We didn't just call one time, but multiple times to make sure we were making the right decision and their entire staff was patient and super nice on the phone. Our flight was delayed and we arrived in Maui later than planned, but someone was there to greet us at the hotel and get us situated with ease. We got in late at night so we couldn't get a grasp of what the hotel and view was like, but the next morning we both agreed that everything was PERFECT! The balcony offered a huge table where we had breakfast every morning and although there was construction going on across from us the partial ocean view was calming. The room has all the conveniences of home: dining area, washer & dryer, full kitchen, and sitting area to relax and watch TV. I love to cook so was very happy to find the kitchen well equipped with all the necessary appliances and cookware. *Make sure to stop by Costco near airport before checking in to save time. If we go back to Maui, we'd definitely use the same company for lodging and maybe this time splurge for a full ocean view. ~ Aloha

Additional information about rental rates

We charge either 20% or $500.00 which ever is greater at time of booking and if you make that booking within 21 days of arrival then the entire amount of the reservation is charged at that time. We charge the balance 21 days prior to the arrival date. There is a 3 night minimum and if you book your stay with us for only 3 nights then the total amount of your stay is charged at time of booking.

Additional Fees and Taxes:

1) There is a parking fee of $12.00 per day, per vehicle that is paid to the Honua Kai Resort front desk upon check in.

2) There is a one-time out-cleaning fee of $190.00 including tax on every stay with us. If you needed a mid-stay cleaning that is billed at $40.00 an hour with a one hour minimum.

3) There are applicable Hawaii State Taxes of 13.42% on nightly rate (9.25% TAT & 4.167% GET)
