Welcome to our elegantly furnished 1890s cottage, conveniently located in Downtown Colorado Springs at 18 North Corona St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, just 5 blocks from everything that historic Downtown Colorado Springs has to offer! We also have a sister cottage at 20 N Corona St (VRBO #355182) available to accomodate larger parties!
Pets are welcome, too...
This light, bright 750 square foot one bedroom cottage is the perfect spot to explore and experience all the wonders that Colorado Springs has to offer! It has classic Victorian 10 foot ceilings!
The cottage is located on a quiet non-through street so there is not very much traffic and easy on street parking is always available.
The bedroom has a queen sized thick, comfy mattress. We also have a comfortable futon couch that opens into a queen bed and a twin size size air mattress which can be set up in the living room, so we can accomodate up to five people (6 if someone sleeps on the couch).
The property has a mix of antiques and contemporary furnishings. The living room has an antique armoire for hanging your clothes, as well as a smaller closet in the bedroom. There are new sofas in the living room and the dining room. There is a new, dark wood dining room set that seats four.
There is a new flat screen 22' television in the bedroom and there is a 40' Sharpe Equus High Def Flat Screen TV in the Livingroom. Both TVs have full cable TV service. We are also set up for wireless internet access so you can surf the web and there is a phone in the cottage with free local and long distance service, as well.
There are fir wood floors throughout (no carpeting at all), a full kitchen, complete with everything you could need for a fun vacation! There are air-conditioners in the bedroom and the living room (which cool the whole place),
The kitchen has a dishwaster, but is not an eat in kitchen. It's a nice size for preparing food with a large pantry, as well as the doorway leading to the back porch. The washing machine and drier are in the kitchen as well.
The bathroom consists of a large shower, a small sink and a toilet. It's a little tight but is quite functional.
The small (approximately 10 feet by 20 feet) fenced in back yard area has a gas barbeque, as well as a patio table and chairs on the small covered porch for al fresco dining. It has a mini-view of Pikes Peak. There is a chain link fence in the back yard with an empty lot behind it. This is an urban yard isn't that isn't landscaped yet. Because there are no neighbors behind you, it's pretty quiet. I also own the cottage next door and there is a lovely, quiet person living there.
We allow pets, but please let us know if for some reason you need a kennel or some type of help with your dog during your stay and we will try to accomodate your pooch.
From our cottage, you can walk to downtown boutiques, restaurants, clubs, and antique shops. We are also less than ten minutes from historic Old Colorado City and fifteen minutes from exciting Manitou Springs with their wonderful restaurants, shopping, supermarkets and galleries. Garden of the Gods park, with its exquisite red rock formations, is a must see and it is less than 15 minutes away with a fantastic visitor's center. The Broadmoor Hotel is just a hop, skip and jump away, as well, less than 15 minutes... The Air Force Academy is about 15 minutes north of us, and Colorado College is about 15 blocks away. The Olympic Training Center is east of us and less than a five minute drive.
Bear Creek Dog Park and Bear Creek Nature Center are less than 10 minutes west, and are wonderful places to take the kids! There is also a beautiful zoo less than 15 minutes away. There are many fabulous day trips less than 2 hours from us, including the drive up Pikes Peak, marvellilng at the Royal Gorge, rafting on the Arkansas river, soaking in hotsprings, exploring Cave of the Winds, and visiting the Cliff-dwelling museum, all great entertainment for kids.
Cancellation Policy: 100% refund if cancellation is 60 days or more before arrival date. Cancelling 30-60 days before arrival date will result in forfeit of deposit. Cancelling within 30 days of arrival date is non-refundable unless we are able to re-book those days. There is a $50.00 processing fee for any cancellations

Very comfortable, quiet, clean cottage that was a fantastic home base for our stay. Walking distance to great restaurants and shops. On street parking right in front was never a problem. Lots of movie channels to surf when we had worn ourselves out! Washer and dryer in the kitchen. Back porch is adjacent to an alley, but we never saw a soul during our stay. Tiny fenced back area made us wish we had our dog along on the trip. Mark was very welcoming.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

About me: I lived here with my wife and dog for 3 full months while on business. Location: Great. Walked to work, walked to the bars. A nice little cigar shop on the way home. Sonterra Southwestern Bar and Grill has a nice happy hour, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Amenities: It has just about everything to make your life convenient (except a dispose-all... hint-wink-nudge). Furniture is aging a bit. Everything is in the kitchen, but the kitchen isn't built for serious cooking (not something you have to worry about unless you're staying a really long time). Backyard for the dog, yay! (...sorry about all the potty) Cleanliness: It's old. Not dirty, but not clean if you're used to living in a newer apartment complex. Pet hair on old hardwood isn't fun. This facet really put my wife off, but it didn't bother me too much. Owner: Mark is awesome. Extremely friendly and helpful. We had some plumbing and weather related internet issues and he fixed them quickly even if we called him at inconvenient times. Conclusion: If you're checking out the Springs for a weekend, it's got everything. Eat out or keep your meals small and oven friendly.Recommended for: Pet owners, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Wow... I'm sorry you weren't totally pleased with your stay! This is a lovely cottage and we strive to make it as wonderful for any guests as we possibly can. We've had other guests who stayed even longer than you did and they loved the location and amenities. I guess you can't please everyone all the time.

Perfect location, especially since we were on a road trip and did not want to use the car to get to resturants etc. Close to Garden of the Gods, a must see! Size was perfect for 2 of us though the pull out couch was not a good substitute for a bed. (only one bed and 2 women who didn't want to share) Everything else was lovely. Dishes and all the details were great and well thought out. Parking was easy right in front of the house. The building was more like a cottage, but perfect for a few nights. I would love to go back. We had 2 dogs that the owner was happy to let stay. Lots of site seeing you can do with dogs. The place is kept well, clean the perfect size for 2 or a small family. Very sweet.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful! We had a couple requests and Mark very graciously met those requests. We took children ranging in age from 1-8, and we are slept and lived comfortably for five days. We loved having all the amenities we have at home. It made the stay with children so much easier. The place was very nice and exactly like the pictures show. This was way better than any hotel room stay would've been. It was nice to be mintues from away from so many things. Anytime I had a question Mark responded in a timely mannor. Loved it and would highly reccemend it.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

My husband, three dogs, elderly mom and myself enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is in a very quiet neighborhood and close to the downtown area as indicated. It has all the amenities of home. The owner's have it tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The only two complaints that we had was that somehow the floors were not cleaned after the previous tenants left so we had to mop the floors ourselves which were very dirty and loaded with dog hair. However, the landlord was very gracious and apologetic, along with compensating us for this being overlooked. Also, we were not able to let our dogs use the backyard to do their duties as there was nothing but fine dirt out there and this made our three white dog's paws turn gray and sooty which tracked into the kitchen so we had to leash them and bring them out on the streetside where there was some grass and leaves. So if you have a longhaired dog, this may not work for you. It was alot of work leashing our three dogs everytime they had to go out and this was one of the reasons I chose the rental because of the fenced in backyard. Overall, everything else was neat and clean, but as indicated, a very small bathroom which you had to walk through the whole house to get to from the bedroom, so if you need to use the bathroom during the night, this is an inconvenience. Otherwise, it really is a nice place and we probably would have enjoyed it more had we left our dogs at home!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+.

Our vacation was really nice and the house was exactly as described. The property was really quiet and relaxing. Virtually everything you could need during your stay is furnished in the house. We were really impressed with the hygiene and cooking items that were there. The sleeping arrangements were adequate and the entertainment that was provided was great. I highly recommend staying here and would do so myself again. The home owners were very helpful with all the questions and concerns that we had.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We stayed at the house for one week with two adults and two dogs and it was perfect. The bed was delightful to sleep on and while the house is not huge it was the perfect size for us. There was off street parking, wireless internet, full size washer and dryer, grill, and a nice tv with cable in the main room. There was everything we could ever want! We were located just off downtown and we walked to dinner and ice cream several times as it was an easy walk. We enjoyed the Phantom Canyon Brewery as well as Josh and John's Ice Cream as well as the walk itself. For dogs it was about ten-fifteen minutes from several dog friendly areas including our absolute favorite Bear Creek, trails in North Cheyenne Canon Park and Garden of the Gods. Also a very short drive to the Olympic Training Center and pretty easy to get on several highways which take you to Canon City (Royal Gorge and white water rafting) as well as Florissant (fossil beds). The owners were wonderful and very easy to work with(even after we got lost trying to get to the house!) while providing everything anyone would need to stay in the house. The listing description was accurate and everything was exactly as it was pictured. I would highly recommend the owner and the property.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: Pardon the corny photo from X-Mas last year at our daughter's house... We have 3 Corgi dogs of our own, all rescued from the Humane Society, and our daughter has a 4th Corgi, also a rescue... We take our 3 pups with us whenever we can, and they love taking long hikes with us around the many parks in the Colorado Springs area. We have been married for close to 30 years. We lived in New York City for our first 35+ years, and have lived in Colorado for the past 17 years. We love it here! (You will too!)
Why the Owner Chose Colorado Springs:
We lived in downtown Colorado Springs for five years. We had fallen in love with the downtown area when we first moved here and when this unique property came up for sale, we couldn't resist!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Colorado Springs has many open space areas and parks. We have 3 Corgi dogs (all rescue dogs, adopted at the Colorado Springs Humane Society), and we take them hiking up into the surrounding parks and mountains. We loved being in the heart of all that Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City and Manitou have to offer!
