The property could be so much more if only there was some additional furniture...neither bedroom has a place to sit. The private roof top deck had no furniture and therefore was not useable. Essentially the sofa was the only seating in the living room. There was no place to eat except on barstools in the kitchen. Other inconveniences were the fact that there was no toaster, no microwave, not potholders, poor instructions for use of the audio/video equipment, and no TV in the MBR. There was no place in either shower for placing soap, shampoo, etc. This condo was ideally located and the owner was very helpful in answering questions. If the absence of all of these amenities, doesn't bother a prospective tenant, we would recommend it solely on the basis of location.Recommended for: Tourists without a car.
Owner response: We added some furnishings to the condo in response to your comments...a new dresser in each bedroom, plus a desk and chair. We were inspired to refinish the floor and design custom drapes for the second bedroom. We feel that the living area is adequately furnished with the large sofa (seats 6), 2 ottomans, and bench by the fireplace (seating for up to 4 people). We bought a new toaster. The oven mitts were in the drawer below the oven (sorry, you did not see them...I wish you would have sent me an email or called as I know the condo and its contents well). We made some adjustments to the TV and surround sound so it should be easier to use (and we added more detailed instructions for future guests). We have ordered new furnishings for the roof deck for the Spring.

This is an excellent town house: --- great location within a walking distance from two T stations (Back Bay and Prudential), points of interest including old churches, various shops and restaurants. The trams will bring you to Symphony or MFA in just minutes; though the parking spot is available, one can easily go without a car if staying in Boston; --- very clean and well maintained with utterly everything a traveler might need, even including some washing/cleaning supplies; --- a perfect blend of modern interior with the charm of old Boston; --- the owner is very responsive and helpful. Elderly people should take into account that the house has stairs both outside and inside which can be somewhat challenging. Though the set of the utensils is pretty much exhaustive, and addition of a kettle (does not matter if it is an electric or a stove top one) could be nice, as well as a microwave (though I cannot rule out that I was thoroughly searching). I would definitely like to stay there again if I make a trip to Boston like the one I just had.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

My wife and I and our 2 girls spent a wonderful time at the Holyoke property. My wife was attending a conference locally just blocks from the apartment. The place was easy to get to, very clean and well furnished. Central location is just great. Bedrooms are large, beds and linens very comfortable. The main living floor was really quite spectatular with a gorgeous high end open kitchen space adjoined to a comfortable spacious living area. We did not venture out on the rooftop deck but it looked pretty cool. We cook a lot and were surprised to see not only high end appliances but professional level cookware and utensils. Really well done. Only negatives for us were all the stairs (from the street it is up 3 flights of stairs to the main living area) and the fact that we needed to childproof the stair area. We also would have enjoyed a simple automatic coffee pot and a microwave. Highly recommended. We plan on staying again anytime in Boston.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

My husband and I moved to Boston early 2012. We decided to rent an apartment for the first two months in order to look for an apartment to rent for the rest of our stay. We rented this one on beautiful Holyoke street. We spent two wonderful months! First, the area is so close to Prudential Center, for everyday shopping. Second, everything in the apartment is high end (really high end) which makes it cozy and functional at the same time and that for us, is the most important since we work from home and spend great deal of time at home. The pictures show to perfection the feeling you get while you are at the house. And Lisa the owner is so professional in dealing with her clients that it really feels very easy to coordinate your moving and you stay at the apartment! While searching for our final apartment, i had to see a lot of apartments, and believe me this one on Holyoke was the gem of the market! Unparalleled!Did you find this review helpful? Do not rent this place unless you are prepared to hate the place you currently live in. My fiancee and I stayed in this two story (three story if you count the roof deck) gem. The owner, Lisa, couldn't have been kinder. The couch? I'm still dreaming of this couch. The bed in the master bedroom? Like sleeping in a giant's hand. Three minute walk from the Prudential Center. Two minutes walk from Back Bay Station. Pancakes and or turkey hash from Charlie's down the street. Really we've been gone for over a week now and we're still depressed. I hate my couch. I hate my bed. And you can't get decent turkey hash in los angeles. This apartment ruined us. Highly recommended.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

Why the Owner Chose Boston:
I bought this property because of the great location and layout of the unit. I lived here full time for 9 years before we moved overseas. We stay here whenevr we are in the US. We love walking with the baby to everything the city has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The 360 degree view of the city from the roofdeck is just spectacular. I completely renovated the property with high end appliances, top of the line fixtures, and imported furnishings. The parking space is an added comfort.
