  We had a Truly relaxing and rejuvenating long weekend in Hahn's Peak Village at this wonderful mountain home overlooking Steamboat Lake. Our host was welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and informed. The local people we met were genuinely gracious and happy we had traveled from Minnesota to experience their mountain culture. Hands down its our "go to place" in Colorado! Will most definitely plan a stay again.

  This is a great property!! We made the trek down to the resort every day with a group of kids and then my husband and I would go back up and snowshoe around Steamboat Lake and Hahn's Peak. The best of both worlds in my opinion!!!

  We had a wonderful time at the Hahn’s Peak Village, about thirty miles up in the mountains from Steamboat Spring. The house was spacious, clean, and well supplied with necessary items. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the family room during our meal times near a fireplace. The house had an underfloor heating system which was very helpful in the winter time. We took joy in snowmobile rides, horse riding and cross country skiing. We won’t forget the beautiful sceneries surrounded us. Kathy , our host, was such a wonderful and kind person. She was very helpful in anything.

  Great place to stay. Owner was very accomodating. Beautiful house and beautiful view of mountains and Steamboat Lake. [My son had one concern- No WIFI is available as listed. Personally, I found that as a benefit so we could visit with him once in a while!! :-)]

  Owner response: As we have learned from our guests, with a smartphone you can make it a wifi hotspot and use your computer. So we have elected to let our guests make the decision if they want to be "connected" here in our rural environment. We have also updated our amenities to reflect the change of status. Kathy

  OUR FAMILY HAS BEEN TRAVELING TO THE HAHN'S PEAK AREA NOW FOR THE LAST 1O YEARS. WE HAVE STAYED AT MANY DIFFERENT PLACES BUT THIS BY FAR WAS THE TOP OF THE CAKE. BEAUTIFUL HOME WITH EXCEPTIONAL VIEWS OF MOUNTAINS. ANY PERSON OR FAMILY WOULD LOVE STAYING HERE. IT HAS EVERYTHING ANY FAMILY WOULD NEED. KATHY IS VERY ACCOMODATING AND WE THANK HER FOR OPENING HER HOME UP TO US. THANKS AGAIN FOR WONDERFUL MEMORIES!!!!!

  I actually think the on-line description did not do justice to the home or the surroundings. The three separate levels of the house, each with bathrooms, bedrooms and dens, means that there's plenty of room and privacy for all. Well stocked, comfortable and elegant, and a priceless view of Steamboat Lake and the mountains. Loved watching storm clouds gather in the afternoons, the lightening and thunder-no rain actually fell! Walking distance to the lake and visitor center, easy car access to the marina and swimming beach. We were cautioned that the house wasn't baby-proof, but there were no problems for/with our 14 month old granddaughter. If we return to Steamboat Lake, there's no other home we'd consider.

  My family stayed in this luxurious home for a week and loved every moment! The isolation and serene beauty of your surroundings will make any stress you have be forgotten! The view from any window captivates the true Colorado experience from sunrise to sunset. The house itself is well-kept and clean in every corner. There are available sheets and blankets for when the weather gets a bit frosty (being from Texas, this was a plus!). For the outdoorsy ones, there are enough trails around that even locals haven't covered all the hikes! I highly recommend to camp outdoors wherever you want to enjoy the milky way closer and more luminous than you have ever seen! If you choose to stay indoors and explore the beauty from a looking glass, there are plenty of activities such as board games, puzzles, and playing cards for the whole family to enjoy. ---I recommend not turning on a television during your time of stay.--- Truly a place to visit! -1LOVE

  Thanks again for letting us stay in your home. This is the second time we have stayed here and plan on coming back many times in the future. The weather was hot and the fishing was slow but we enjoyed our stay all the same. We had some concerns about the house getting too warm during the day but we opened some windows and it stayed remarkably cool inside. My grandson enjoyed the "man cave" downstairs and found plenty of things to do to keep himself occupied. We enjoyed eating at the Hahns Peak Cafe. Overall we had a great experience. Thanks.

  Dear Kathy, Thank you for the use of your spectacular, beautifully appointed home. Everything was perfect. We had a wonderful stay here and enjoyed our days of hiking and activities. We hiked Hahns Peak, the Nipple Trail, Mad Creek and Spring Creek. Another highlight was our afternoon at Strawberry Park Hot Springs. We also recommend the Rodeo and a visit to Hahns Peak Lake and Pearl Lake. Our week here has been one of our most wonderful vacations ever. Thank you very much! Also, loved the frequent visits by the hummingbirds!

  Thanks Kathy! We ha a great time. Three generations making wonderful memories 4-wheeling. The trails were challenging and fun. We found rocks, ruts, bumps, trees, mud, snow and jumps. Perfect (LOL) All accessed from your home. The views are spectacular–especially the one from your deck. It was an awesome week!

  Thank you so very much for allowing us to share your home. The warm and cozy sitting room was perfect for gathering as a family. We especially enjoyed the huge windows that gave us such a bright view of the mountains and allowed us to enjoy the quiet solice of the beautiful star-filled night sky. The games, TV and movies afforded the adults time to enjoy while children were occupied. Your kitchen, laundry, and never-ending hot showers allowed us all the comforts of home. Many Thanks!

  From the moment I inquired about this property to rent over Thanksgiving until the moment we left, the owner was responsive, diligent and kind. The views were breaktaking, the home was spotless, the kitchen was well stocked to prepare a hearty Thanksgiving dinner, the hills just out the front door made for endless hours of play for my kids and the neighbors were sweet and thoughtful. Our stay was memorable and amazing. I could go on and on but hands down, an overall A+++.

  This location is terrific for anyone that wants to get to trails for hiking and hunting. My son and I had a great time in this region of Colorado and will come back again next year. This is our third year Elk hunting in Colorado and the lodging made the trip even better. After spending the days hiking up and down the mountains it was very refreshing coming back to such great accomodations. The house turned out to be better then the online picture showed. Well kept, very clean and has all the amenities necessary as if you were back in your own home. However the views send it over the top.

  My wife and I, our 2 kids and 2 grandkids went up for a long weekend. Kathy could not have been more graciouus or helpful. Great views to just sit and appreciate. iktchen was well stocked and rooms were clean and nice. The small beds for the boys were a bit too small but worked OK, would not have worked for older kids. Caught several fish at the lake (a very short drive away) and spent one afternoon walking around Steamboat. Wonderful time!

  Owner response: Steve and his family were great renters and glad they had a wonderful time. The "small beds for the boys" were shown to their mother as a option to the twin beds that were also available, she said the boys had already "claimed" their place. After the rain quit the weather was perfect. Just what we've come to expect in Hahns Peak in September. The fishing was slow but the view from the house was spectacular.   We had a wonderful time in your beautiful home! The view is beautiful and the hike to the top of Hahns Peak was spectacular. We enjoyed the charming village and roasting marshmallows and hotdogs on the fire pit. The lake was Blue's favorite part - he thought it was dog heaven!   If your looking for something nice, quiet and cozy, look no more !!! Five days of peace is what we experianced. From coffee on the deck in the morning over looking Steamboat Lake. Then hiking, horseback riding, fishing and driving the surronding mountains, lakes and parks during the day. Ending the day by watching the beatiful sunset from local resturaunts or doing some ourdoor cooking. We spent one afternoon fishing for trout and picking wild berries, returning home to make a fresh and natural meal, great way to end the day. You will completly forget about where you came from and only enjoy where you are. Cathy was the perfect host by sharing information of places to go and things to do. She kept us entertained, and was never more than a phone call away if we needed anything. If you're like me and go once,I'm sure it's just a short time before you plan a return trip. I know you'll enjoy your stay. ,

  The pictures don't do this beautiful home justice! The view is amazing and the wrap-around deck is spacious - great place to have a coffee in the morning and watch the sun go down in the evening. There is also a nice side yard w/ a firepit for smores - the owner even supplies all the smore fixings. The beds were very comfortable and the house was spotless! The house is well constructed and charming with lots of attention to detail. The kitchen is small, but very well thought out and provisioned. The ground floor has a cozy suite w/ a kitchenette, bathroom, and entertainment area, while the main floor has the living/dining/kitchen & master bedroom. The 3rd floor has a great TV room for kids, bathroom, bedroom, and office space. The owner was so helpful and provided alot of color and information about this quaint area. You can walk/bike to Steamboat Lake & the Hahn's Peak Cafe. In the winter, there are miles of groomed trails for cross-country skiing. Steamboat Springs is about 20 minutes away, but a beautiful drive! We can't wait to go back!

  My husband Raul and I went with our two sons and one of their girlfriends. We has such a relaxing time. Everyone had their own space but the common areas were great for watching movies or playing games at nite. We had a fire at the fire pit every nite, roasted marshmallows, and cooked in the very well equites kitchen. We walked to the lake web kayaking and hiking with our three dogs and had a blast!:)

  We met for a little family R&R. We hiked, we canoed the lake, we took our puppies to play in the water and we had an amazing time. We love to come to Steamboat to snowboard in the winter as a family get away. Now we love to come to Steamboat Lake for a summer get away just as much. We also loved Pearl Lake. Thank you Kathy for an amazing weekend. We loved using your cabin by the lake :)

  Thank you for allowing us to stay in your magnificent home, it was definitely one of the best vacations I've ever had. All that can be said is there's nothing that comes close to how perfect the house was designed and we absolutely loved the floors.   This is one of the most beautiful places in colorado Mountain Peaks in background and Lake in front - with deer and birds to keep you company We were there in July and the whole area was blooming with wildflowers ! The owner, was an admirable host The house is a beautiful base to explore this area.

  We had a great time and this is truly a great place to stay. Rocky (our Siberian Husky) had a blast! The house had everything we needed making our stay so much more relaxing. When we were not skiing/tubing/snowmobiling we enjoyed the views and walks around the trails with Rocky, the neighbors loved him! It was awesome having Jody, with Rocky Mountain Rentals, deliver the snowmobiles right to the house... we lived like rock stars, lol! Hopefully we can work something out for next year though right now I'm ready for spring!! Thx again Kathy!!! The Whelan's (Bob Jr., Paul and Rocky)
