- Waves is known as the best parasailing and windsurfing area in the world! The Outer Banks has many marinas to rent or charter a boat. You can also cast fish on the beach. The house has private access to the beach. You can fish,swim, surf, or just look for shells, or even watch for Dolphins. Outer Banks beaches have been rated in the top 10 beaches in the country, the last few years. There is also a ship wreck nearby, approx 2 miles from the house..Fishing also off pier at Rodanthe Pier, 5 minutes from house, where the movie "Nights in Rodanthe" was filmed. There is also bird watching at pea Island, and nature trails. 4 museums are located in the area. Hatteras lighthouse is located 10 minutes from the house,which is the most photographed lighthouse in the world.There is lots of shopping, restaurants, and great seafood! Why the Owner Chose WavesFell in love with the Outer Banks fist time we visited. Love the relaxing atmosphere and the 'beach feel' of Waves and Hatteras Island. The Unique Benefits at this HouseWe love the private beach access and the ocean views from the top two decks of the house, and from the living room every morning enjoying my coffee watching the waves roll in and the dolphins swimming. Quiet tranquil area, not a loud noisy beach, most of the beach goers are people who own the homes in the neigborhood or are guests. Perfect spot to do some cast fishing or if tired of the beach can relax in the private pool or hot tub. Pool is also great for small children. House sleeps 14 so we usually have a house full when we go . House is great for large family gatherings. The house has plenty of room with 6 bedrooms, den, living room, screened porch, a table that seats 12, den and rec room and 3 levels of decks, everyone is somewhere having a good time. House is located at the end of cul-de-sac, which is great for walking, or riding a bike and private for children, no traffic. Located near restaurants and convenience stores, and a fish market. Lots to do in the area. If you want to spend some time relaxing, great place to enjoy a book on one of the 3 decks. For those of you who like to workout or enjoy physical fitness, 14 guest passes per week are included with your rental. We are from Massachusetts and love the Outer Banks! We love the warm ocean water and the beautiful wide beaches which up north, you don't find too often. We also love the laid back, relaxing feel of the Outer Banks. The house is fun and very comfortable and there is easy access to the beach. Our favorite things to do is to swim and my girls and I love to collect shells.I love to watch the dolphins off the deck in the morning while sipping my cup of coffee, and to read on one of the many decks. The pool is private and a great place if you just want to take a dip and relax. Our family enjoys exploring the beach, visiting museums, and looking for ship wrecks. I actually found a part of the 'Oriental' off Pea Island, buried in the sand! We love to horseback ride on the beach in Frisco and also love to eat at the various restaurants on the island. There are also great places to buy seafood to cook on our outside grill . There are also many places to just grab a cup of coffee, or get an ice cream cone and shop! We have a large family of 5 kids, and there is always something to do! My kids enjoy playing pool in the evening , or just sitting on the beach by a bonfire. The 6 person hot tub is also great place for relaxing after a long day. We also bring our two dogs along with us, Sooner the Bassett Hound and Galway, the flat coat retriever/ Corgy mix.They love the beach too!

Great place for a family vacation

Our family stayed at Hatteras Jack during the first week of May, 2012 and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The house is just as depicted, very clean and well maintained, as are the pool, hot tub and the surrounding patio and picnic table. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms and livings areas are nicely furnished and very comfortable. The decks are great and provide a nice view of the dunes and the ocean as well as incredible star gazing. We would definitely recommend this property. We also had very good luck with all of the carry out food we purchased from Atlantic Coast Cafe...and if you take a ride down to Buxton definitely give Angelo's Pizza a try. Kids might also enjoy their arcade games. The Food Lion in Avon was a short drive, about 15 minutes, and had very nice quality meats and veggies, etc., for reasonable prices.

Words really can't begin to describe the amazing time we had on out trip to Hatteras Jack!! We spent a week at the house and it was perfect!! Being so close to the beach was so nice. We spent many hours sitting on one of the decks listening to the sound of the ocean. The house was so well equipped for our stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with all items needed to cook any meal you could imagine! We had a group of three adults and three children ranging in age from 1 to 7 1/2, and they thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. We were so thankful we had the pool heated, and we spent a lot of time enjoying the warm water with our children. It was so nice to have the option for pool to be heated as the ocean was much too cold for the kids to enjoy. The majority of our days we had great weather, and loved being just a few steps from the beach. And it is such a beautiful beach! Not very crowded, which was great. The kids loved playing in the sand, looking for shells, and flying kites! I also can't say enough about this house and it's owners. The house was spotless when we arrived, and all communication with the owner was so helpful and friendly. We will be looking into coming back to Hatteras Jack in the future and we recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful location for a relaxing beach vacation!! Thanks again!!

Our experience was wonderful! This is the first time we have ever rented a vacation property or visited the Outer Banks. The owner's description and photos are just as they appear. The property is located right on the beach- all you have to do is travel the path over the dunes to be on the beautiful beach. The house and living space is very large. We comfortably fit four families in the home. The house was clean and kept up. The kitchen is fully stocked with many gadgets to cook with. The weather the week of our stay was not perfect (late March/early April), but we still enjoyed the beach and hot tub. Next time, we'll get the pool heated. The kids played in the sand and freezing water, the guys played football and made seafood on the grill, and the girls enjoyed shopping in various locations along OBX. We went to the aquarium, which is on the small side, but nice for kids and a great activity on a day when the weather is undesirable. We also brought our two mastiffs. They had a wonderful time as well! The owner is very quick to respond to any questions. Not only would we recommend this beach house, but we're looking forward to renting it again in the future.

Stayed at this home in June and it was the best vacation rental property yet. The beach is just outside your door. Nice wide, clean beach not crowded at all. The house is very well kept, nice furniture and very comfortable for after dinner gatherings. A lower rec room is a great spot for the kids to gather and play pool. House is equipped with everything you need for a great vacation in OBX! Hatteras Island is beautiful and less crowded than other areas that we have rented. Several shopping areas and wonderful restaurants are close by. Hatteras and Ocracoke are close and good day trips.
