A perfect location, close to subway and Central Park for walking. The location was great for walking to the shows at night! The apartment was well stocked with linens and kitchen supplies. Very roomy with TV! It was nice to have a doorman that we got to know! Great place for seniors as there is an elevator! Highly recommend!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to make a last minute change from a different VRBO rental the same day we were travelling to NYC. We had previously communicated with Chich, the property manager, and he immediately called us when he heard of our predicament. We spent 6 nights in this apartment and are convinced the change was fortuitous. The neighbourhood is excellent. The block is noticeably quieter and is populated by well kept apartment buildings. It's a quick jaunt to two subway locations, has a vast array of grocery and restaurant options and is an easy walk to Central Park or Times Square. The apartment was very comfortable for our family of three. We also greatly appreciated having an elevator and a doorman. Chich was very accommodating and completely trustworthy. We would definitely return to this apartment.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The apartment is located close to Columbus Circle, 5 minutes walk from Central Park and subway station. It features a small kitchen, a nice dining/living room with a convertible (and surprisingly comfortable) bed, bathroom and quite large bedroom. It's clean and comfortable, A/C is mandatory during the hot NYC summers! The property manager was very friendly and always available (phone and e-mail) for requests and information about the apt. Also friendly were the neighbors, the doormen (always present). Feels like a safe area. There is quite a large choice of small supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

After many short visits to NYC from our Arizona home, my husband and I decided to stay in the city for six weeks. We had checked out several rental companies and saw this listing, among others, in VRBO. I had read about people being scammed in apt. leases and felt a little uneasy dealing with people I didn't know. We decided on this property because it was close to Central Park, subways and all the action. The property description was completely accurate. It was clean and although the building was older, was well-maintained and in the process of being renovated. We were comfortable and adjusted to the property very quickly as the personnel was always helpful, friendly and courteous. Our building was on a tree-lined neighborhood street with other buildings of the era. Chich, who represented the property to us is a true professional and a joy to work with. My uneasiness about not trusting who I was dealing with, was quickly dispelled. My questions and emails were answered immediately and he helped us out when we arrived much earlier than expected. I highly recommend him and I know he has other properties in Manhattan. We were so close to many fine restaurants, walked to Broadway shows, visited MOMA and the American Museum of Natural History, walked 5th Ave and Madison. Probably our favorite pastime, though, was just walking through Central Park and discovering what was going on for that day. All in all, a memorable trip.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This was our first vacation rental, and were hesitant at first. However, although some small issues arose, the property manager was quick in mitigating them and was very responsive to our questions and concerns. We once requested additional blankets, and were greeted by two new blankets by the time we got home later that day. The unit is exactly as the photos show, and is in an older building undergoing renovations, so if you're OCD or prefer newer establishments, this isn't for you. Having said that though, the unit is clean, and the bed and pillows are stiff and supportive, and good for my back. Wireless internet was quickly accessible, and on-demand TV shows were available on the large LCD HDTV; switching on wasn't a chore neither, and navigating the digital cable box was simple. The building is located on a quiet street (not everyone follows the rules though), while activities were abound half a block away on both avenues. Access to the N,R line is 2 long blocks away, while access to the A,C,E stations are about 3-4 short blocks away. We regularly walked to Times Square and to Columbus Circle, and Midtown shopping on 5th, Park, and Madison Avenues are either a short subway ride or walking stint away. As epicureans, it was important to have at least a few amazing restaurants nearby, and we weren't disappointed, with places like Bocca di Bacco, Soup Man, and Yakitori Totto right around the corner. Other building neighbors were friendly, and a doorman was regularly present in the lobby. There is always a good amount of foot traffic outside as well, so you never feel unsafe in this area. If you like vintage charm in an apartment, this place will definitely suit, and the property manager won't disappoint: he's easy to reach, and quick to help. After this experience, we will definitely consider vacation rentals again, and can certainly recommend this unit and property manager to everyone!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
