Just got home from one of the best weekends in Lake County ever. Four of us rented the house along with our two dogs and we just had such a nice time. The entire property is fenced in so we could let our dogs run free and play in the water without worrying about them getting out to the road, the top deck is also fenced so we could keep them closer to us if we wanted but still outside. Our dogs absolutely loved it, they're off taking naps now to catch up on their sleep! The house it very well appointed, everything you could need. There are ceiling fans in every room which helps keep it cool and an efficient swamp cooler. The kitchen is huge and makes cooking for the group easy. The deck has seating enough for 12 people or more. The views out all of the windows are beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. There are three or so other homes very close by but we never saw anyone our entire time at the house, just peace and quiet for us. The owners were really wonderful to work with, very responsive and flexible. We would rent this home again in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Home is beautiful. We arrived to fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, wine and ducks!! Beds are extremely comfortable as is the sofa recliner (perfect for napping!). We did absolutely nothing for two days, except drink wine and feed the ducks. Kitchen is equipped with every modern convenience, except a dish washer, but that was okay because there are so many dishes available that I only washed on the day we were checking out. Can't wait to come back when the weather is a little warmer.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This Lake house feels like home away from home. It is definitely my # 1 choice for a great vacation. The home is immaculate, and the owner provides more things than you can imagine to make your stay wonderful. The kitchen here has more cookware, silverware, glasses, plates - even China plate set - Much more than my own house !!!! The set up is amazing - LOTS of room and so many amazing view points, its hard to decide where you want to sit!! Great boat dock - fishing from the private pier we were catching 40 LB catfish ever time we put a line out. The ducks are plentiful and they know when you have food - they come running....SO cute. This home is completely stocked with anything and everything you can imagine. So...pack light - you wont need 1/2 of the things you would normally bring. We will be staying every year from here on out.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The owner has done a really nice job in renovating this "cabin" on the lake. The kitchen is very well equipped including a regular coffee maker & a Keurig. The best part of this place is the view & great deck with lots of seating and a great BBQ! There's a dock you can fish from and tie up your boat. The place is clean & has plenty of linens, movies & games for kids. Of course my husband loved the flat screen TV's! Would definitely go back & recommend. A nice touch is the gift of a bottle of wine and cookies. Beautiful area to drive and explore northern CA.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Our family of 6 (myself, my wife, and our four boys: ages 16, 13, 5, and 10mo.) had a comfortable stay in this 2-bedroom home. The living room, kitchen, and dining area are all combined in one enormous room where a family can spend their time playing games, watching TV, eating, and even napping (the sectional sofa has an attached recliner, as well as a fold-out bed). The weather averaged in the low 90's for the week, but the swamp cooler (actually, I would just call it an a/c, because I would have never known the difference) kept the home in the mid to upper 70's without any issues. The home had everything we needed for our stay, especially in the kitchen: it was stocked with every conceivable pot, pan, utensil, spice, and bit of kitchenware that a big family needs. We went grocery shopping when we arrived, and never had to worry about not having the tools we needed to prepare meals for the week. The BBQ rocked - it was a dual set-up, one side propane, the other gas - and it sat on the massive hard-wood deck near the long patio table, all perfectly designed for sunset meals. Overall, I would call the kitchen "modern," because it has a spacious island, trash compactor, stainless steel fridge, huge sink, remote-controlled ceiling fans, and top-of-the-line wares. Bring your Keurig coffee cups, because there's a Keurig brewer just waiting to be used. Blenders, wine glasses, and shakers are present for those who enjoy their special drinks. Outside, there is plenty of space to park. Part of the drive way is covered, and the black top runs all the way down to the lake. The wooden dock shows some age, but if you want your mind blown, go out to the end of the dock at midnight and look up at the sky. There, you will witness a spectacular infinite blackness, bedazzled with a host of incalculable white and silver stars, cleft by the elongated, arcing streak of the milky way, all of which continuously oversee the rhythmic pulses of Clear Lake's subtle waves in their respectable attempt to reflect the majestic portrait of the cosmic glory that hovers above. For those who can pause, and allow the soul to inhale this sparkling wonderment, and thoroughly consider its origin and Creator, will most certainly be enamored by its perfect beauty, yet terrified by the details of the ancient colossus who has always been there, rolling over the Earth, night after night, long before the breath of life entered our nostrils. Bring a boat, and you'll have the lake to yourself.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I had such an amazing stay at the Glenhaven Lake House last September and vowed to make this vacation destination an annual tradition. So we are back, and once again our expectations were exceeded with all the personal touches, amenities, and comforts made available during our stay. The home has everything you need to fully enjoy your stay. Our family enjoyed every aspect of the house and lake. We brought our boat, Sea Doo, and kayak and the kids, adults, and even the dogs had a blast. We cannot wait for our next stay. Thanks Lisa for everything!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The welcome wine, cookies and treats for my dog were very thoughtful and added a special, personal touch. Loved the kitchen, it had everything we needed, even a frappicino machine! We spent most of our time out on the deck. Feeding the ducks was fun too! We loved how it had it's own dock where we did lots of fishing but only caught one fish (by my 10yr. old). The house itself is very updated, clean, well stocked and is a comfortable living space.....like home, is how I would describe it. The owner is very on top of things, I received several emails with updates and felt I could ask any questions. Great customer service! This is a great place to bring your family. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves. Thank you!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners.

Our family had a great time at this rental. The house was modern, clean and well kept and the location is awesome. It was a very enjoyable vacation the kids loved swimming and feeding the ducks. We caught 3 catfish right off the dock ranging from 4 - 9 lbs. The first and largest we caught only 3 hours after we arrived. The backyard was perfect with the deck, dock, and beach everything is right there, that's where we actually spent most of our time. Thank you for everything Lisa, the stay at your vacation rental was wonderful and we hope to get back over there soon.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I spent a week at the Glenhaven house June 23-June 30 2012. The house far exceeded our expectations. We had friends that were in soda bay at the same time and when they came by for a visit they couldn't believe how nice our place was compared to theirs. This was our first time at Clearlake and we weren't really sure what to expect. The lake is grassy. The swimming area next to the house was the best for swimming. We actually purchased a few blow up boats and rafts on amazon and the kids had fun using those. I would suggest bringing water shoes as the swimming/beach area next to the house has less grass but is rocky. I would highly recommend staying here.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I went to this place with 3 other people...that is really about the max for this place, unless you don't mind someone sleeping on the couch. Having said that, it is very nice inside; all the kitchen and bathroom fixtures have been upgraded, and NOT with the cheapest stuff. The countertops looked to be granite and there are 2 nice deep sinks in the kitchen. The bedrooms are small but who spends time in the bedroom on vacation?? They were certainly adequate. There's a really nice deck - it is huge, and there's nice deck furniture and a grill that has both gas and charcoal burners (charcoal and fluid is supplied). We sat out there and watched some newly hatched ducklings waddling around in the water, along with loons and the occasional fish jumping. They have a great LCD TV with a DVD player and a VCR player and tons of movies, we watched Shrek the Third. There's also an iPod docking station with some decent speakers. We had no problem with the rental itself, we spent an hour or so washing dishes and cleaning up before we left, and we left about 10 mins early, and 100% of my deposit was refunded. Thank you! I would only say that right now the dock is in disrepair, so if you're taking a boat, consult the owners first. Also be very careful - lots of dogs running around without being leashed. All in all, it was great - perfect amount of space for 4 people, nice updated interior, great deck, and free chocolate chip cookies and red wine! I would recommend it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your review. The home consistently has housed more than 4 people at one time, especially if you have children. The couch converts to a pull out double bed with a new memory foam mattress. The dock is rustic and is directly on the lake. At the time of this guests stay the floating dock had pulled away from the ladder in a storm, which has subsequently been repaired. The dock will be fully renovated in the fall during the slow season. There is a private beach next door and on occasion Glenhaven residents bring their dogs. Our property is fully enclosed so your dog can roam freely on the property, but if you want to go onto the adjacent private beach you should be aware sometimes there are other dogs. Glenhaven does have a leash law.

Owner response: Thank you for your nice review. We recently replaced the hot water heater which caused the low water pressure. My contractor has been to the house and resolved the situation.

This property exceeds our expectation. My son is already talking about our next trip there. Our dog also had a great time chasing after the ducks and walking freely on the dock with the boys. Though we didn't have any catch there, we rented a boat for a day from Indian Beach Resort and had great luck fishing off Rattle Snake Island. The boys also kayaked from the boat rental back to the Lakehouse for lunch. The Lakehouse is clean and very comfortable for 4 people. It is well stocked with a lot of small appliances, dinner wares and misc utensils. It doesn't have a dishwasher though. Safeway is not far. We didn't eat out at all for the entire stay. The towels are thick and luxurious. The bedrooms are small with some cabinets but no closet which we don't need. The beds are comfortable. There are 3 TVs in the house. The poker set and the many movie DVDs came in handy when we needed to stay in due to the rain. The patio is big and furnished with a lot of lounge chairs and a huge bbq. This almost doubles the living space on a sunny day. All in all, we had a great time and we will be back. Lisa, thanks for renting this great property to us.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My family and I had a great time staying here. It was nice and peaceful. The scenery was excellent and more than what we expected. The amenities provided were more than we could ask for. We stayed for a week and never ran out of supplies. The home is beautifully renovated and obviously well cared for. There was something for everyone to do there. Our trip included two young kids and four adults and we all have a great time. Besides catching fish off the dock they enjoyed the board games, videos, and internet access. One of the main reasons for the trip was because Clearlake is one of the best places to catch largemouth bass, and never having been there before, I'm really glad that we choose this location. It made our stay very enjoyable. We highly recommend staying here and plan a return visit.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

It was a wonderful experience to arrive at our destination, not totally knowing what to expect and to have everything we could have possibly needed and more available to us in this comfortable two bed room house with a great deck right on the water.( It is an older fishing cabin tastefully remodeled ) The location has a beautiful view of the lake and the mountain. We were comfortable and happy being in this well ordered and efficient home; making it very easy to relax and enjoy the beauty and the peaceful setting. Entertainment , including three TV,s , video , games etc were all carefully explained, which was much appreciated as were the multiple coffee makers, drink mixers etc. The amazingly well equipped kitchen made it supper fun to prepare meals and special treats. We brought our own Kayaks and went out on the lake, putting in right from the beach and the dock attached to the house. . We also took the kayaks up to Rodman Slough, only 12 miles north, and paddled around seeing all sorts of water birds in the wild grasses and reeds. The owner was very helpful and available by phone or email to answer any questions and some great neighbors sent by the owner offered support if we had any problems. Everything was perfect, we totally enjoyed being there.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The quiet location of this newly remodeled lake front home is perfect with spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The accommodations and amenities were first class with every detail met from a fully equipped kitchen with coffee makers to fit every coffee enthusiasts needs to Wi-Fi, electronics, movies, games, dog treats and even food to feed the ducks. The glass enclosed deck is the ideal spot to sit back and relax as you take in the picturesque view and soothing sound of the water crashing onto the private beach only feet below. The private beach was a perfect way to basque in the sun and take a dip in the lake to cool down. If you find yourself wanting to get a break from the sun, the grass area of the yard is the perfect spot to sit in the shade provided by two lush green trees. The private launch ramp enabled us to easily drop our Sea Doo into the water and tie it up to the dock to board or when not in use. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay and it was perfect for the adults, kids, and our dogs. We plan to make this dream Glenhaven lakehouse get-a-way our vacation destination year after year.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

There was nothing that we had to do without because the house is stocked with anything and everything you could possibly need. It was great to get away and just have the time to laugh and relax and not have to think about anything. We would float in the water or just hang out at the end of the dock and get some sun. Great location in quiet Glenhaven. Beautiful home on the lake with everything you need (including cookies when you arrive, and dog treats for your dog.) After spending years at another location, we had to move because of our new dog (the other spot doesn't allow pets). The reservation process was smooth, the house is clean, bright and has all the amenities you may need (including a coffee grinder, something this coffee drinker was very happy to see).
