This is a beautiful home and the owners were a pleasure to work with. They are great people and very helpful. The house is very clean and has many nice features. My only complaint is the house is right on Hwy 111. I'm a light sleeper and road noise can be a problem for me. This is a model home for their log cabin business that they also use for a rental property. My guess is it was built right on Hwy 111 to increase the visibility of their business. I didn't see any mention of the homes proximity to the road in the description and I was a little disappointed. Other than than, it's fairly priced and a nice home.

Owner response: We thank you for taking the time to write a review on our vacation home, especially that we are helpful, that our home is very clean, well featured and fairly priced. It was/is in fact a dedicated award winning log model that enabled us to design and build for over 90 homeowners in the area. When the economy took a turn, we opened it to the public as a vacation home enabling us to handle the overflow of people that could not book at Fall Creek Falls State Park. With well over 1 million visitors per year, and Van Buren County being the least populated in the State of Tennessee, it becomes difficult to find accommodations near such a beautiful place. We do not divulge our physical address in order to protect our guests, however, when before we accept payment over the phone, we review the listing, and discuss the fact that it is not secluded. If we have failed to do so, we regret that oversight, and apologize for causing you any discomfort. We are in the process of refreshing our listing, and we will take your advice and try to incorporate this information, while maintaining our guests privacy.

Our family came to spend a weekend together at this cabin. It was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed cooking burgers on the grill and making smores at the fire we built later that night. It was a great place to get together and relax. Would highly recommend this cabin.

Our stay was just a planned change of scenery ... same everyday tasks in a different location... a beautiful log home. The family did get out and see the sights but mostly my elderly mom and I hung out at "home" I cooked three meals a day .... loved loved loved the kitchen ... much appreciated the gas grill. The ramp onto the porch was a bonus for my mom and the wrap around porch allowed her to enjoy outside. The spacious open concept allowed my mom to move around with her walker/wheelchair with ease. The side porch under the ceiling fans were a great place to play cornhole. The cabin was immaculate and beautifully decorated and furnished. Owners were helpful in setting up and revising our reservation. Rachelle, sorry I didn't get the opportunity to meet you and your husband. Thank you for sharing your home. We had an enjoyable time and made some great memories.

This house is large, very clean, and very nicely furnished. Our grandchildren had plenty of room to play inside and out. The common area is very large and open, with plenty of comfy couches and chairs. The kitchen is very nice. We enjoyed the swings on the porch and the fire pit. The location in Spencer made it ideal for day trips to the beautiful state parks in middle Tenn. The owners are friendly and very easy to deal with. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay and had a great time hiking the TN mountains!!

We stayed at the cabin for 2 wonderful days. Once our reservation was confirmed the owners sent us web sites with different activites that were available. We went as a family during fall break just to get away, our family consists of, my husband, myself, and our 6 children ages 4-16. The cabin has ample space for all. The cabin is very beautiful we loved staying there. We did spend a day at Fall Creek Falls and loved it there. Many great hikes for all ages, the only hike our 4 and 6 yr. old could not do was the cable hike, but there was a park nearby where myself and the little ones were able to play while dad and the older ones went on the cable hike. We have already recommend this cabin to our family and friends!

We spent a long weekend at the cabin and were quite satisfied. If you enjoy parks and outdoor activities, there are many to do in the area. The cabin was clean, in good shape, and ready for us when we arrived. As mentioned in the listing, the yard is large with plenty of room for kids to run around. The house is located fairly close to a 4 lane highway (under construction). The construction was not in our area and we did not notice the road noise when inside or around the back of the house. There is a large common area inside the house that is nice for socializing. This comes at the expense of space in the bedrooms, they aren't very big. For a rental place, not a problem. The grill was functional and in much better shape than most rental places that I've stayed. We did not have any problems with hot water or the internet service as mentioned in some of the other reviews. The bed size in the listing needs to be updated. There is 1 queen bed downstairs, 2 full beds upstairs (not queen-sized as listed), and 2 twin beds (also upstairs). Overall, a nice place that is well set up for rental. My only complaint was the large security light that shines directly into 2 of the upstairs the bedrooms. It would be nice to be able to turn it off or better yet, have curtains to block it out. -

Owner response: We appreciate your wonderful review and for taking the time to help us improve our vacation home. The roadside grass has been mowed, the crews have moved on down the road about a mile or two, and we look forward to benefitting from the improvements to our great TN road system. We will review the mattress sizes and revise our listing accordingly. It never occured to us that we had two different sizes of beds, other than queen and twin. The queen sheets we use are made to fit full/queen, so we did not notice the size difference. The house was designed to be used as a model, which explains the large common area we used for seminars and group meetings. The 3 upstairs bedrooms were sized at 10' x 12' for offices, and they include writing desks and chairs to give our guests extra private space to read or use their computers. Having four bedrooms in 2000 sq.ft. gives us the advantage of accommodating eight guests instead of six for the same price. The curtains on the upstairs bathroom and front bedroom cover the bottom portion of the windows, but the security lights were hitting the 1/2 circle at the top. We have diverted those away from the dormers and the issue has been resolved. Thank you so much, again for helping us make Home and Soul a prime choice for vacation destinations. Rachelle and Peter Talbot

My family and I were able to spend a relaxing 3 nights at this lovely cabin. It was roomy, clean, and comfortable making it easy to relax in and unwind. The owner was friendly, helpful, and willing to meet our needs quickly. It was obviously set up for a family with Christian touches that made us feel at home. The first thing my son's and daughter-in-love did was start playing badminton. In the evening we spent a lot of time sitting on the back porch facing a lovely meadow and watching the rabbits, fireflys, and fireworks both from God and man, it being the 4th with a lighting storm added. We visited Fall Creek Falls State Park and Rock Island State Park. Both were delightful with beautiful falls and wild life. We wished we could stay longer. I would have loved to do more exploring in the area, and hope to come back again.

Couple from Mississippi; Stayed 7/11/11-7/14/11 Heart & Soul is a beautiful cabin. Photos accurately described the cabin. Over the years we have stayed in several cabins. This cabin was the best. It was well decorated, very clean and comfortable. Parking spots for several cars were provided. The highway construction did not hinder our enjoyment of the wrap around porch. We enjoyed our coffee on the front porch each morning. We enjoyed visiting Fall Creek Falls SP, Rock Island SP and Cumberland Caverns. There are many other attractions in the area that time did not allow us to visit. Owners were a delightful couple. They were available to answer questions when we were making our reservations and during our stay. Also, we enjoyed our visits with owners during our stay. We would recommend this property to others. Hope to return for a longer visit in the future.

My family and I had the privilege to stay at Home & Soul over the past 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was much better than staying in a motel and we all had our own bedroom and plenty of space (kitchen, living area, outside, etc.). The wraparound porch was so relaxing in the mornings and a great place to catch a quick nap after spending the day at the parks. We also made use of the horseshoes, badminton, and fire pit where we enjoyed the company of several rabbits. Also, there was a gas grill just off the back porch that we used every night and then ate outside. Heart & Soul is in a very convenient location and close to several of Tennessee most beautiful state parks (Fall Creek Falls and Rock Island). There was road construction ongoing during our stay but it did not put a damper on our stay and we are already planning our vacation for next year. We also had the privilege to meet with the owners and had some inspiring conversations with them and look forward to meeting them again. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

We love to sing and play bluegrass music, especially Gospel songs, and we know many likeminded musicians in the area, that love to get together and jam. Our friends describe our office next door as log home central, where they can be guided to whatever need one might encounter...."there is never a dull moment around here, alway something exciting going on". We have been tremendously blesssed since we came to this area in 1998. You will not find a friendlier, more relaxed place to spend time, where people wave at you whether you know them or not.

Why the Owner Chose Fall Creek Falls:
It was the natural thing to do. Experience what 5500 other people could not: this home was once a model log home, opening its doors to over 5500 people to tour. While they could only dream about staying in the Copper Top Cabin, their dream has become your reality!
