'Alki-Soundview' is located just 20 min. from SeaTac Int'l Airport and 15 min.(by Car) from downtown Seattle, Guests will enjoy the wonderful views from your apartment of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mtns, Island Views and looking over Alki Beach/Point from this well-appointed, garden level apartment (1200 sq feet) on Genesee Hill in West Seattle. This private facility has one bedroom with a queen sized bed, one bathroom with a large tile shower (no tub). The apartment can accommodate five people. Additional, sleeping beds are fold out beds. The large, fully furnished kitchen includes all major appliances and a coffeemaker and toaster. Parking is available on the dead end street beside the apartment.
Relax outside in your private covered entrance area with your favorite beverage and enjoy the view over Alki Beach/Point, Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and Islands.
'Alki-Soundview' is a perfect home- base with which to explore the Greater Seattle area. Walk down the hill to Alki Beach (.7 mi.) for picnicking, biking, skating ,volleyball and walking or jogging several miles of beach walk, exploring and enjoying water oriented activities.

My new husband and I just spent a week in this apartment for our Seattle honeymoon. It was PERFECT! Quiet, private, peaceful, beautiful and super comfy. We had initially hoped to stay closer to downtown but in the end, we fell in love with West Seattle and Alki Beach. The view from the apartment was breathtaking. We enjoyed some jogging and walking along the beach, eating at local spots and taking the water taxi over to downtown. This was a perfect way to experience more of Seattle without the hassle of parking. Kathryn and John were wonderful to work with. We were thrilled with our stay and hope to be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The home you have shared with us is beautiful and such a relaxing atmosphere & fantastic view of Seattle. We toured my daughter's school - did the water-taxi trip, ate fresh fish & chips at Pike Place Market & bought salmon to take home. We toured Boeing - went to Mohai Museum in Westlake, it was awesome & we ran out of time. We will have to return there. My husband took the water plane ride with Kenmore Air which he really enjoyed. We ate at "La Rustica" to top off our vacation and it was just as good as the first time we tried it. Visiting Seattle and seeing our daughter is wonderful but always so sad to leave. We just had a lovely week at the Alki Soundview. The apartment was spotless and so comfortable. The view was fabulous from the kitchen and living room. The pictures and video were very accurate. We loved walking on Alki beach to Alki Point. It had a beautiful view of Seattle downtown and the mountains. It was an easy 15 minute drive to downtown to see all the attractions that Seattle has to offer. Then, it was so nice to leave the hustle and bustle of downtown and stay in a very quiet, relaxing neighborhood and again, enjoy the view, right from the apartment. Such a beautiful week in this peaceful place. The view is astonishing rain or shine - and although it was mostly rainy - we still had such an amazing time. Our daughter has fallen in love with West Seattle, and we have scouted out a few affordable possibilities so we have been thankful to have stayed here to experience what this area has to offer. Your apartment is so very comfortable and homey - and decorated so beautifully. We especially loved the little office area... as we brought our laptop and could keep up with business emails, etc. The landscaping is fantastic around your home and throughout the neighborhood. As a gardener from Indiana, I covet your climate and lengthy growing season. To see such color in March is such a gift! Also, I was surprised at how easy it is to drive into the city, and to maneuver to almost anywhere we wanted to go. I love Seattle! Thanks again for the opportunity to stay here. For 5 days, I enjoyed the the location to my family, Alki and the junction. And the view of Puget Sound, Olympic mountains just added to everything. The apartment is warm and gives the feeling of "home". I was able to easily connect to the internet, relax on a comfortable sofa and watch occasional TV. The hosts, Kathryn & John, didn't forget anything in providing for the comfort and relaxation of my stay. This apartment definitely requires a revisit in the future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: West Seattle has been our home for about 30 years. We bought this house in 2005 and spent several years doing a 'down to the studs' remodel which added a self-contained apartment on the garden level for family, friends and guests. We live upstairs. We enjoy travel, meeting travelers and sharing our love for this area. Now that we are empty-nesters, we are ready to offer the apartment and to extend Northwest hospitality to our visitors.

West Seattle has a remarkable mix of resources and activities. It is like living in a small beach town yet Seattle's downtown is just 10-15 minutes away.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
This is a large, private, tastefully furnished and decorated view apartment in a great location. We are a 10-12 minute walk from the action at Alki Beach. In the peak summer months it's great to be part of the action, but it's also important to be able to get away from it. We are a few blocks from two different bus lines and a free shuttle to the Water Taxi that travels across Elliott Bay to downtown Seattle. Whether you travel downtown by bus, water or car (about 10 minutes), there is plenty to do once you get there.
