Located at the end of a one of Port Ludlow's most beautiful streets, this charming cottage is the perfect place for your vacation getaway and to use as a base for exploring the area. Situated on a gated private acre, the property features mature landscaping and gardens,and a view of the Puget Sound, Mount Baker, the Olympics, Whidbey Island and the Port Ludlow Marina. There are also steps to a private beach. The cottage is beautifully furnished and decorated to make your stay feel extra special and comfortable.
Port Ludlow on the Olympic Peninsula is a vacationer's paradise as it provides visitors with the experience of staying on an island, and at the same time easy access to Seattle, Port Townsend, the Olympic Rain Forest, Whidbey Island and Victoria on Vancouver Island.
The cottage has two bedrooms, one room with a queen-size bed and one room with two twin beds. There is a comfortable sofa and satelite TV. Enjoy your meals at the dining room table, with cloth table linens. There is a roomy kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and electric stove. We can also arrange for dinner during your stay.
Walk down the steps for hikes on the beach (at low tide) to go crabbing or clamming (when in season, permit is required) or hike the numerous trails in Port Ludlow.
The private Bay Club in Port Ludlow is available at no additional charge to our guests. Its facilities include indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, library, fitness center, tennis courts and pickle ball courts.
The cottage is ideally located for day trips in all directions and is just minutes from Highway 104 and the Hood Canal Bridge including the Kingston and Bainbridge ferries to Seattle, Port Townsend, and the Keystone ferry between Port Townsend and Whidbey Island.
Head north to Port Townsend and enjoy the numerous art galleries, antique stores and restaurants in Port Townsend, where you can also enjoy historic Fort Worden, the wooden boat festival and the Port Townsend Film Festival. If you are like the outdoors you are only an hour away from Port Angeles, the gateway to Hurricane Ridge and the ferries to Victoria.
Enjoy the wonderful galleries, restaurants and world renowned gardens on Bainbridge, or take a ferry from Bainbridge to downtown Seattle. You can leave your car at the ferry terminal since the ferry drops you off just a couple of blocks in from Pike Market and Pioneer Square. Busses are free within the city of Seattle.
Of course there are many things to do in Port Ludlow as well. Rent a kayak or bicycle from the Port Ludlow Marina or enjoy the world renowned golf course and hike the many trails throughout Port Ludlow, or take a walk along the beach. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the famous Fireside Room at the Port Ludlow Inn. In the summer you do not want to miss a concert in the barn at the world famous Olympic Music Festival - bring your own picnic or buy lunch at the festival.
Poulsbo, a Norwegian town, is only 20 minutes away and offers numerous shops, galleries as well as fine dining. Tour the navy ships at Bremerton or visit the Undersea Naval Museum in Keyport. All are within 45 minutes from your cottage.
If you need larger accommodations, we also have a three bedroom waterfront house (sleeps 6)with large covered deck on the Hood Canal in Port Ludlow VRBO 39697. This house is only 5 minutes from the Cottage and a combination of both houses is ideal for multiple families or large groups.
