  Let me start off by saying that Nylda, the owner, was great! She was extremely easy to connect with from the beginning to the end of our stay. Yes, even my late night text asking the location of the grocery store was given a speedy reply. Across the big intersection was Walgreens, Burger King, KFC, a gas station, a grocery store and much more. All of this is walking distance. My boyfriend and I chose the location of the apartment because our plans for the east coast of P.R. included El Yunque and taking the ferry to Culebra. The 1st morning we went to El Yunque it was a simple 10 minute drive and well worth it. We also went to Luquillo Beach which was a few minute drive from the apartment. Great beach! Then we hit the kiosko area for dinner which had so many little restaurants it was hard to choose which one to eat at. The 2nd day we left for the ferry dock at 7am to catch the 9:00 to Culebra. The drive took literally 13 minutes and was painless. We returned on the 5:00 ferry. The apartment had everything needed for cooking our meals. The washer and dryer were a bonus for us to have everything clean when we left for the next leg of our adventure to drive to and stay on the west coast of the island. I would recommend this place as a great location and place to lay your head to sleep. We rented a car from Charlies / Ace in San Juan and management for the apartment met us there with the keys and rental agreement. We took the senic route 187 out of town instead of the main highway and I would highly recommend that as well.... put yourself in island mode, slow down and enjoy!

  We stayed in this Luquillo rental for 3 nights. Nylda, the property owner is the best ever! She was always available to answer questions and was extremely responsive and always helpful. The unit itself was clean, well situated, safe and well equipped. We used it as a base for traveling to El Yunque and taking a snorkeling charter on a catamaran (Salty Dog- good.) from Fajardo to the Cordillera Keys, including Icacos (very nice day trip). For our purposes, it was perfect. Can't beat the price thats for sure. The bed would be my only complaint. Mattress covered in plastic and plastic covered pillows. In a tropical climate, even with A/C -makes for very sweaty sleeping. The sheets felt like a cotton/poly combo, rather than pure cotton. I understand that it is probably more hygienic, but it is definitely less comfortable, and other rental units seem okay with just washable mattress covers. So that would be my only suggestion for change. The unit has a DVD player, which was nice. We always bring a few movies with us, since we don't go out clubbing or that type of thing at night. Apt. is one block from beach and we enjoyed just walking 1 minute to be in the sand. One night we brought a picnic dinner to the beach, which was fun. Surf is strong, so caution is advised for swimming, but no problem walking at the waters edge in the soft sand. Nylda thoughtfully provides a book she has created with local info, brochures, phone numbers, etc. which we found helpful. El Yunque is just 10 minutes away - super easy to get to! We spent the morning hiking the "La Mina" trail- just gorgeous. Then had lunch at "El Morro", near La Coca Falls, for an inexpensive and authentic Puerto Rican meal. You are also very close to the famous Luquillo Kioskos at the beautiful Luquillo beach, where you can choose from many spots to have a great meal. We would highly recommend this rental.

  We stayed here for two nights. We primarily used it as a place to sleep and shower. Location was excellent, right a short walk from the beach and near enough to food. We were looking for place close to El Yunque and Fajardo, and this delivered. It was nice to have a full kitchen available, although we did not end up using it at all. I did really appreciate the gated parking since I did not want to see a rental car damaged by a falling coconut. The only real issue we had was the bed. We are spoiled at home with a Tempurpedic. The bed was a bit plasticy feeling and we both found we were sweating on it a bit. I also understand why places put plastic covers on mattresses, I'm just not a fan. Overall we were very satisfied with the price, location and space. Thanks to our owners. They were easily accessible via email for checking and when we had questions.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

  Owner response: Accommodations in the apt. are standard for rentals. Although adjustments can always be made for issues such as the removal of plastic covers on mattresses and pillows. The apt. and the bedroom are fully air-conditioned which should avoid or reduce discomfort. If advised before or during stay we always do our best to accomodate any particular requests.

  I stayed at the unit for about a week and it was perfect to relax. The unit itself was located in a perfect area to walk to nearby restaurants and the beach. The unit also is VERY comfortable and has everything you need to live and enjoy your time in Luquillo. The area itself is great. There grocery stores, a Walgreens and numerous restaurants nearby. There is a small restaurant nearby called the El Flamboyan that has an amazing breakfast. There are also kiosks down the road that offer everything from local food, gifts, and even a Cheesesteak shack! Overall I was very happy with my rental and felt safe in the area. The owner of the property (Nylda) was very helpfull in every way and I would highly recomend to rent this unit from her. Thanks again Nylda!!!

  this condo was wonderful! it had everything that you would need if you want a relaxing vacation. the beach is a few minutes walk. the building is gated and everything locks so we never worried about not feeling safe. the ac was great, we definitely needed it. everything was great! especially Nylda! she was the best. definitely have already recommended this condo to others, and we will be back! thanks so much.

  I had a great stay in Luquillo! Nylda was very helpful and the location was fantastic. Beach was a short walk as were several bars/restaurants in town. Also walkable was Amigos (wal-mart) and several fast food places. Short drives to hike the rainforest and take trips out of fajardo. Definitely recommend renting a car. Locals were all very nice and helpful. I felt very safe my entire trip. Condo was open air which I loved given the great climate. The do have air-conditioning if you so choose to close up the windows and doors. I LOVED Luquillo!

  Nice condo with mostly everything you could need for a great vacation in Puerto Rico. We had enough room (2 adults, and 3 small children) to eat and play in the condo. Owner was easy to contact, and very willing to assist with anything we needed. Left a few things for others to use at the beach (kick boards, and floaties) for kids.

  The owner was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and comfy. I didn't give it a full 5 stars because the surrounding neighborhood didn't feel extremely safe. I felt ok out at night with my boyfriend, but if I were traveling alone or with my girlfriends, I'm not sure I would have been comfortable heading outside at night.

  The apartment was clean and OK. The A/C was sufficient and the security was very good. The owner, Nylda, was friendly and fair and she is bilingual. We enjoyed our visit and, Lord willing, we will return and acquire the same place. Beautiful beaches around, and the tropical rain forest was close by.

  Loved Loved Loved the location of the property. The beach was within a 1 block walking distance, which we took advantage of and walked several times. We truly enjoyed our 2 weeks in Paradise visiting family & friends, and this property made that possible as its was centrally located. Nylda was great in meeting up with us even though we arrived on Christmas Day. We are already planning our return trip for December 2012.
