  The location of this rental is very nice. Located in a quiet neighborhood on puako beach. We were happy to have such close access to the tide pools on puako beach. This kept our 4 year old entertained for hours. The swimming and snorkeling at this beach is decent. The rental itself does not have ocean views. I would not recommend this rental for people who might be spending a lot of time in it. It is nicely furnished with everything a person might need and served us well as a place to sleep and clean up. It does NOT have reliable wi/fi. We were able to explore the island and many beaches from this location and will probably stay somewhere near Puako beach when we visit again someday.

  A lovely one bedroom chalet - perfect for 2 people. The furnature and decorations were tasteful and high quality. Everything was clean/immaculate and in working order. The kitchen was well stocked with nice equipment and dishes. We ate in and barbequed on the grill out on the deck several nites and the kitchen was more than adequate for that use and for breakfasts. The deck and deck furnature are well made and comfortable. Is a perfect location with easy access to beaches and Waimea and Kawaihae. The owners live in an adjacant home and are pleasant, unobtrusive and respect your privacy, There are ample beach chairs/mats/towels etc available in the unit for your use. The only item which was a minor disappointment was the wifi, which was slow/weak; for example, was too slow to stream a radio station. Overall was an outstanding experience - we would stay there again witout hesitation.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

  The one bedroom cottage was very comfortable, well designed. We did, indeed, walk to the beach to watch the sunset every night. I would just comment that a deck off the stairway on the LEFT side of the cottage facing the ocean would be a wonderful addition--to have that view! When we complained that the blender did not work the owner bought a replacement that very day. He was very helpful. Puako was a lovely, quiet place to stay. We did many wonderful day outings from there. We had a great stay!

  Very clean, bright and airy, and tastefully decorated, this charming place was ideal for two adults and a young child. Great snorkeling and beautiful views were just across the lawn. The kitchen and linen closet were thoroughly stocked to make home-away-from-home comfortable and easy. There's a little general store a short walk away, in case you forget your toothbrush. The owners went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, supplying us with local info, beach towels, boogie boards and bicycles, but were never intrusive. We'd go back in a minute.
