Assisi apartment description
Located at the historical center of the medieval old town of Assisi, a few steps from the famous Piazza del Comune where the city's main activities are held. It is simple but beautiful. No telephone, no Internet, no TV. You will enjoy how life is in the old days with simplicity and elegance.
You can cook your own simple food with fresh ingredient from the market. Or simply walk out to the Piazza and nearby streets to get whatever you desire. Watching the crowd like a local and going back home like a local after a day's excursion in town or outside of town.
You may use this flat as a base and take daily excursions to nearby Italian Medieval towns and return to a place where you can rest and call home for the time being. There are plenty of musical festivals in nearby towns, wine and olive oil producing villages to explore, taste, or just go to any beautiful Italian towns. Nothing can go wrong there!
You may also just sit around and read in the open living room or watching the crowd go by down below on the street level. You may take a nap during the siesta in the quiet bedroom, or eating out on the small balcony watching the beautiful light of the sunset and the marvelous colors of the Medieval walls and roof tops.
One of the great things is driving up from Perugia at sunset and watch Assisi glow in the golden pink color. It will take your breath away! The magnificent Basilica of Saint Frances is filled with famous art. There are many museums to visit and learn about the history, The temple of Minerva, Church of Rufino, Santa Maria Delli Angeli,...... A few steps from our apartment is the Piazza del Comune where famous poet Gothe was so very impressed with the now two thousand year old structure of Temple of Minerva and the underground museums of the ancient town is literally opposite side of the street where you can see the entire ancient ruins beneath the surface of the Piazza Del Commune.
Go to the cafe next to the fountain in the square in the morning. All the locals are here enjoying their breakfast, espresso, croissant and watch the day get started. You can also take the train to Rome and Florence, each are only about 2.5 hours away.
Assisi is most centrally located in Umbria where most of the famous towns are within 100 kilometers, Todi, Montefalco, Terni, Perugia, Foligno, Spoleto, Gubbio, Arezzo, Magione, Orvieto....you will need time to explore Assisi itself. So come and enjoy the stay!

Year Purchased: 2007
About: We totally fell in love with Assisi when we first visited in 2006. So instead of taking home many souvenirs, we took one big souvenir - the apartment we now own since 2007. We love travel and learn about different cultures. We each have our own countries where we are from, but deep down we both feel Italy is our home town. We simply love Assisi. Each time we drive up in the evening at sunset from Perugia where Assisi is in view, we are reminded why we fell in love with Assisi so much! So please come and stay and enjoy life the way it supposed to be with simplicity and elegance.
We fell in love with Assisi when we first visited in 2006. We rented a large villa in Perugia with 6 other couples and daily we visited nearby small towns. When we saw Assisi, it took our breath away. We then decided that we want to have a place in this very special town. We wanted to have a flat near the historical center in the old town. So we found this one. We love it and we hope others will enjoy it as well!
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
It is right around the corner from the old medieval historical town of Assisi, a short walk from the famous Piazza Del Comune. Even though very close, the bedroom is on the quiet side. If you close the windows and door, you can't hear anything. But if you want to, you can open everything and watch the crowds go by down below. There are so much to do in Assisi. It is within walking distance to all the historical monuments, churches, activities, restaurants and shops. You can cook your own food here and can experience a real Italian life style of simple elegance. You can also rent a car and drive to other towns nearby as we did for two weeks, or take a train to Rome and Florence for the day like we did and still can come back to a homelike place. It would be your home away from home for a while. We just bought all new furniture, new Queen size mattress and sheets, new sofas, new cookware and serving ware and utensils.
