Log Gap Cabin was everything I wanted it to be and more! It is the sweetest cabin with high quality finishes that made our stay perfect. The owners were considerate enough to leave a box of dry firewood under the covered porch, as it was rainy the first night we were there. No worries - we made a cozy fire and curled up on the comfy loveseat and played Scrabble - also thoughtfully provided by the owners! The bedroom is lofted on the second floor and again - the quality of the bedding, furniture, bathroom was more than I was expecting. There is a hiking trail at the back door and it leads to a beautiful clearing with amazing views. We enjoyed reading from the rocking chairs on the porch and from the swing out front. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we could have needed. Take their advice about the 4 wheel drive seriously! The cabin is at the top of a very windy and narrow road. This was absolutely the secluded getaway I was hoping it would be - Thank You!!

We absolutely loved our few days in this cozy cabin!! It was wonderfully decorated, very comfortable and spotless!! In fact, we loved the cabin so much we didn't want to leave. We hiked one day and the other few we sat in front of the fire reading - wonderful! Also, we loved the high quality cookware and the bread maker is such a nice touch. We planned our menus ahead of time and had everything we needed and more! It is rare that a place looks better in person than the photos but this is one of those places! We will plan to rent this cabin again! Definitely need a 4 wheel drive!!

The pictures and descriptions fail to fully capture the character of the cabin. It was the perfect place to get away for the weekend; clean and cozy with lots of charm. As stated in the previous reviews, 4WD is a recommendation. The night we went up it was raining and we were particularly thankful for the additional traction. Will definitely stay again for a weekend away. Thanks Jenny.

We began the hunt for the perfect cabin really just as a dream. Something joking said from one to another about the desire to explore the beautiful area of Asheville. We thought, what the heck, why not this weekend? That's when we realized that it is very difficult to find the perfect getaway that isn't already booked on such short notice. Regardless, we did and we stumbled upon this AMAZING cabin. The owner was really something, and was completely flexible with our last minute reservations. It is truly a beautiful area. We are glad we went during the Fall season, mostly because the sunset is really beautiful due to the lack of leaves. The driveway is pretty legit, check your weather before you go and ensure your vehicle is up for the challenge. If you have some driving skills its not that bad, however if it is muddy/icy it would be very interesting to say the least. The cabin itself is very clean, not overly rustic , and incredibly secluded. It is not far from most of the major attractions. It requires a bit of planning because once your up, you may not want to come down. We wanted to explore so we made the trip up a couple of times. The only thing I wish is we would have brought a couple more bottles of wine and we would have never left. It really was lovely, some of the best sleep we've had in a long time and left truly relaxed. It's an amazing place to go and forget about things and spend some good old quality time together. I won't lie, it is hard to leave and by the end of your stay you'll call it home. Heck, we called it home after five minutes! It was more than we could have expected and would love to visit again, we recommend this cabin strongly... Unless it's when we plan to go back, then don't go! Our challenge to you is to have an equally amazing time. If you do that than you will absolutely have a wonderful stay!

The cabin was cozy, charming and private.no neighbours so no prying eyes on you perfect for couples on a romantic interlude..the owner is just a mile down a steep, somewhat harrowing road to qoute the owner .."it adds to the thrill" traversing that road and I have to agree with him.

It was a lovely, secluded house set way back up a steep mountain road and my AWD Honda made it just fine! We got to meet the home-owner,who was very nice and gave us some history about the house and the local area. We went Whitewater rafting on the French Broad River that only took about 30 mins. to get there.

The cabin is well-stocked, beautifully decorated, wonderfully maintained and a perfect secluded and romantic getaway. Recommend bringing a 4 wheel drive but a 2 wheel drive will make it if the road is dry and you have some skills behind the wheel. Directions up the mountain can be a bit tricky so def arrive during daylight. Insist that the jacuzzi is cleaned before your arrival as it was a little disconcerting peeling back that cover and seeing what was floating inside. Be sure to hike up the trail past the house to find a pristine meadow with a bench under an apple tree. Idyllic! Would def rent again for longer term...

My wife and I stayed at this property for a surprise anniversary trip. First, the owner was extremely helpful and friendly in the planning stages. I would rent off of him again in a heartbeat. This property was perfect for someone wanting to visit the Bitmore and all of the beautiful things Asheville has to offer, but wants something more unique than a hotel room in the city. From the entrance to the Biltmore it probably took 25 minutes to park at the cabin (most of that spent on the mountain road) So for us that was an acceptable distance. The goal was solitude, a romantic setting, and we were not disappointed. Believe what the other reviews say though...you have to have AWD or 4WD to get up this mountain rocky trail. BUT, it was very fun going both up and down, so that all adds to the ambiance. We loved how private the cabin was, and the last home on this road so no one passing by at any time. Its just you, your loved one, and the mountain up there. The inside was immaculate, the kitchen had everything that we needed, the TV and Bose system were GREAT! It was perfect for us to unwind, and enjoy our anniversary. A few negatives: spider webs and ants all throughout the property (probably to be expected that far up) but a little more careful cleaning and maybe some ant traps would help. We were disappointed that the robes as advertised were not there because we would have used them. The water pressure is nothing to be excited about, but I am assuming that is natural that far removed from civilization. And lastly, the bed was very uncomfortable. In fact, one side was very uneven and if you laid flat your right shoulder would be at a higher angle than your left. That could use updating. With those small critiques made, I would still recommend this little slice of heaven to anyone! We would definitely love to stay again, and I think this would be exceptionally beautiful in early winter when you could still get up the road, but enjoy the hot tub and beautiful fireplace more. Until next time...

We spent 4 days here and loved it. The seclusion and privacy of this cabin is just great. The cabin is very comfortable and a perfect place for a couple who want to get away and concentrate on each other. The privacy makes using the hot tub and screened porch a natural extension of the cabin. We even has massages on the porch, which was terrific listening to the birds etc, (though we did have to go down the hill some to get them because of the 4 wheel drive requirement). You DO need 4 while drive to get there, though you can make it to almost there and hike the last couple hundred yards up the road. OK if you arent carrying luggage and groceries! We didn't find the hiking to be that great, but it wasnt really what we were there for. The relaxing porch and the feeling of being totally away was wonderful.

Our trip to this cabin was wonderful. My boyfriend proposed to me on the screened in porch so this will always be a memory I will chreish. The cabin was wonderful. So cozy but had everything we needed. Even got to build a fire in the fireplace IN JUNE thanks to the cool temps... . We will definately return to this cabin again. We loved the seclusion of it and the ride up was a blast. Everything about it was great!!! Highly recomend to anyone wanting to get away for some peace and quiet.
