Balboa Island is a charming island perfect for a family vacation. Lower unit of duplex has large patio for entertaining and is located on the water with a sandy beach in front. One of the most conveneint locations on the Island and just a short walk away from quaint downtown Balboa Island shops and restaurants. Take a 2.5 mile walk on the boardwalk that surrounds the Island and view some of the most beautiful boats and homes in California.
A short walk will take you to the Island Ferry for a short ride to the Balboa Peninsula and the famous Balboa Fun Zone. Once on the peninsula you can rent a boat, go fishing, parasailing, jet skiing, visit the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum and arcades or take the Catalina Flyer to Catalina Island. Catalina offers golf, fishing, glass bottom boat tours and a variety of activities.
Close to Orange County activities and attractions including Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Aquarium of the Pacific, Laguna Beach and the Laguna Beach Arts Festival. Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza offer world class shopping and dining. Legoland, San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park are just over an hour away.

Highly recommended, this house is fantastic. It is a cozy 3 bedroom and 2 bath beach cottage. It is perfectly situated on little Balboa Island. Bay beach and boardwalk right in front of patio (easy to watch kids play all day in the sand). Short easy walk to main street. Also fairly easy to walk or drive to ferry to Balboa Pier (and the ocean beach). It has a great patio with ample dining furniture and additional furniture for lounging. Beach home came with a great deal of children's DVDs available for use. In addition, beach toys, chairs, boogie boards, etc. where available as well. Can't say enough. Great home for a family vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car.

We stayed here last summer with my husband and two kids and had one of the best vacations ever! The house is right on the water and has a boardwalk and sandy beach out front. Each morning the kids would head straight to the beach with their buckets and we could sit on the patio, have a cup of coffee, people watch and still be able to keep an eye them. The bay is very calm on this side of the island and they kids can swim and paddle around safely in the water. We barbequed at night, had a glass of wine and watched the kids play on the beach and ride their razors on the boardwalk. We walked downtown a few times for last minute groceries and to go out to dinner - it was so relaxing having everything so close - you really don't need to leave the island at all! We love it and are planning to come back this year!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car.
