An Teach Ban, Irish for 'the white house' is our own vacation home built in the traditional Irish Cottage style but with all modern conveniences. It sits at the waters edge on beautiful Kingstown Bay, fifteen minutes drive from Clifden along the scenic Sky Road. The house enjoys spectacular views of the Bay and Atlantic Ocean beyond and looks back to the majestic, heather covered Twelve Pins Mountains.
The living and dining area are furnished with Irish Country Pine furniture and comfortable chintz sofa and easy chairs. There is a cozy fireplace with gas fire. Two bedrooms have queen size beds and the third bedroom has twin beds. Both bathrooms have showers, one bathroom is en suite with the master bedroom. There is a superbly equipped kitchen.
The house is the perfect base to explore Connemara and the surrounding areas, take long walks or relax and admire the panoramic view of the Bay, Ocean and mountains. You can take a sea angling trips nearby or stroll down to the jetty to buy fresh fish when the boats return each evening and don't forget to watch the sunset. You can golf at the 18 hole Championship Links Golf Course at Ballyconneely or enjoy any of the other many activities which abound in the area. Clifden is known as the 'Capital of Connemara' and is full of interesting shops, good restaurants and pubs with and without Irish music.

Nichée au bord d'un petit fjord paisible, il faisait bon rentrer "chez soi" dans cette belle maison après une soirée musicale aux pubs de Clifden. Nous passions immanquablement par la superbe "sky road".. si les moutons voulaient bien nous laisser passer. Le matin, installés au chaud derrière les grandes baies vitrées le soleil inondait le salon, un cheval broutait sur le champ d'à-coté, en face, de l'autre côté du fjord, des moutons et un âne et nous repartions pour les nombreuse excursions alentour, gorgés de lumière et d'air frais après un bon petit-déjeuner "à l'anglaise",oups, sorry à l'irlandaise. Nous avons sejourné 2 fois (2008 et 2010) dans cette maison en tout point conforme au descriptif, lumineuse, équipée de façon moderne et personnalisée et y reviendrons encore pour faire découvrir à d'autres amis l'Irlande que nous aimons. La dame propriétaire est très agréable et s'est montrée très flexible sur les dates de location. Je vous souhaite donc un beau séjour.

We arrived home safely having spent perhaps one of our most memorable holidays in An Teach Ban. The cottage exceeded our expectations in terms of location,layout,comfort,furnishings and cleanliness. It had everything we needed for a relaxing and most enjoyable holiday. We hope to return next year should the cottage be available. We have also shared with members of our family,our experience and I should not be surprised if you do not receive further enquirys. Once again many thanks for making An Teach Ban available to us. We've spent a wonderful time at your lovely cottage from 14 to 21 august. Thank you! The location is really beautiful and we appreciate all the comfort that An Teach Ban brought us. Fresh fish (mackerel and lobster) from the local fisheries,prepared in a well equipped kitchen,it was all an exceptional experience. This year we were only the two of us but we would like to share with our family this absolutely fabulous place.
