As promised, The Little Yellow House is loaded with charm. The layout allows for privacy, and the small square footage of the house belies its spacious feel. This house is very clean and well-maintained, and was a pleasure to stay in. The kitchen is adorable, sunny, and bright. North Coast Adventures Redwood Canopy Tour is one to add to the "to do" list.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Although this was larger than we needed, it fit right into our budget for our 10-day stay. We arrived in the evening, and walked into a cozy and inviting living room, warmed by a gas fireplace insert. The house has been extensively remodeled, but the owner took great care to maintain the wonderful character and charm. Everything was very clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked with pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, blender, microwave, a great gas stove, dishes and utensils, etc. The downstairs bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were nice. All the little extras were there, just in case you forgot anything. Beautiful tile work in both bathrooms, and the kitchen area. It was nice to have a washer and dryer right there. There were games, a flat screen TV, lots of information about the area (magazines, brochures, etc). Even though the house is on a street that borders commercial businesses, we would stay there again because it was priced so affordably and was so well-kept and pleasant! We chose to just stay "home" a couple of days. We didn't bring our dog this time, but the owner welcomes them - just let her know! Thanks for a wonderful stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

If you decorated your very own vacation cottage with pieces of this and that from your home plus really comfy couches, soft wool rugs, lots of artwork and cozy bedding it would turn out just like this cottage. The only hesitation we felt on arrival is that the neighborhood surrounding is not as nice as this little home, but it was quiet and there were no issues. Eureka is a classic beach town with a boardwalk, sandy beaches and interesting wetlands. Some of our crew enjoyed a trip to a local zoo to see the Red Panda and our resident knitter found two yarn shops downtown. After a chilly trip to the beach it was great to come back to this place with its cozy fireplace. Not recommended for young kids due to the steep stairs, but wonderful if you travel with a small pet. We will rent here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, girls getaway.

A very sweet little place. More spacious than one might imagine. The only heating source is the gas fireplace which takes some skill learning to operate. Otherwise a wonderful place to stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Perfect house for a family with kids. As stated by others, the stairs are steep but manageable. My almost 2 year old and 6 year old did great with the stairs. A baby gate might be helpful though, if you have young kids. The rooms are spacious. Enough room in the two bedrooms upstairs for a pack-n-play. Even with six people in the house, we never felt cramped. The only bummer part was that the kids couldn't play in the backyard as there isn't a fence around the yard. The police department is down the street, so you feel extra safe. As you often see patrol cars coming and going. The neighborhood is quiet minus a few cars coming down the street. The house is within walking distance of downtown. Also, Costco is a few minutes away which is great for stocking up on supplies and gas for your sightseeing adventures. We would definitely rent this adorable house again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
