  We stayed at the Gibson Getaway for two weeks. This beautiful apartment was exceptionally well furnished with so many amenities that it was an effortless stay. We felt at home in minutes. The view is fantastic with a deck all around the south side of the house. We could see from north of Mt. Hood to downtown Portland -- hills and mountains, river, sunsets and sunrises. Very quiet and restful, a garage and pet friendly! The kitchen is spacious, the refrigerator huge, a washer and dryer off the bathroom, walk in closet. Everything was super clean, too. We were lacking nothing during our stay. Highly recommend this apartment!! Though there are stairs from the garage to the apartment, they are indoors, lighted and carpeted and it was never a problem getting up or down. Located near the Portland, OR airport and the Columbia River Gorge.

  Thank you so much for your hospitality. We had a great time staying at your home with the daily visits from Kona and Buddy. It was the perfect size for our family and made us feel like we were at home (except this has a much better view: lol). You were very helpful with places to see and things to do, especially for us never having been there before. We are looking forward to a winter-type vacation sometime and would not hesitate staying there again. Thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.

  Everything about the owners and rental unit was absolutely fabulous. They were extremely generous enough to provide privacy, quietness, and additional accommodation at our request. They're easy to communicate with and very understanding. We loved the coffee cake with a coffee every morning. The jacuzzi was very clean and pleasant to sit in and relax and enjoy the sunset and a million dollar view of Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood. Thank you for your hospitality and we'll see you soon.

  A perfect vacation spot for me and my family. Close to all the activities I needed for my first visit to this region. I wish this was my home. I wish the owners were my neighbors. I am thinking about relocating here in the future. The owners took their personal time to discuss life in this area. Downtown Camas was so quaint. Downtown Portland OR was minutes away, just across the river. The Gorge and many waterfalls and hikes were minutes away. The views were breathtaking. The cover photo of Mt. Hood was taken from this property. You overlook the Columbia River. And there is easy access to the river walk and bike/hiking trails. From the internet information, it took me a little while to figure out that there is only one common bedroom with three beds in it, but that was fine with my family. We all still slept just fine. You could also get another bedroom upstairs with the owners, but we had more than enough room to ourselves without it. The hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of the day. The kitchen was fine, but we spent all of your time trying the different restaurants that we hardly used it. The biggest problem for me is that I am considering relocating to this area. This home is so well sited with great views, comfortably furnished, and of such sturdy construction, it sets a standard that I think will be difficult to meet if I were to be out house hunting in the area. I know I made the right choice to stay here after my wife gave me a big thumbs up. I will and have recommended this place to all of my friends. I will be booking my next stay here without a doubt. Come and stay here, but save room for me on my next trip up to this area. And I really loved their dogs.

  We had a wonderful stay. Much better to have the whole family together in one comfortable place for graduation weekend, rather than in 3 different hotel rooms as would have been required. We only wish we would have had more time to just hang out and enjoy the accommodations. All the beds were super comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. The views from the property are as advertised. The location is a beautiful part of Washington that we had never explored.

  Lois and Kevin were excellent hosts they provided a warm, friendly place to stay with many excellent amenities, e.g. hot tub, wifi, full complement of kitchen (stove, microwave, refrig) items. Also, the morning breakfast deliveries were a real treat and the arrival day cookies were delicious. The neighborhood park with playground for younger kids and multi use field was great. In all, hosts have a beautiful place and have meticulously provided for their guests.

  My son, granddaughter, grandson and I stayed at the Gibson Getaway. The home is absolutely beautiful and Lois and Kevin really go the extra mile. When we arrived Lois has milk, orange juice and homemade cookies for us. She also had toys and a tricycle for the kiddos. The views from the eating area, living room and deck are absolutely stunning. The home is well maintained and very clean. We felt so much at home and I would have really like to spend a day or two just relaxing there as it is so comfortable and they had plenty of books, magazines, games. (TV and wii also) The breakfasts and evening baked treats were delicious. My three year old granddaughter would say, "I like the house" and looked forward to returning each day. My son and I agree. I think my grandson does as well, but we could only tell, by the way he ran around, played with the toys and slept (in the crib they put up for him). We would recommend the Gibson Getaway without any hesitation. Thank you, Lois and Kevin for a wonderful stay, sharing your beautiful home and your great hospitality.

  We discovered this fantastic place out of desperation. After a two day stay across the river in Portland near the airport, I was ready to go home! That hotel was NOT CLEAN! But my kids and husband wanted to extend our weekend getaway so I started searching. When I saw Gibson Getaway I was hopeful. We were welcomed warmly by Kevin and Lois even at a late hour on Sunday evening. The suite was warm and inviting with everything one could want for a comfortable stay. We have three children 12,10 and 8 and they just loved the space. We also had grandma with us. Lois was so thoughtful and set up two extra twin beds for the kids. The sleeping arrangements worked for our family even with gramma although be aware that the beds are all in the same large room. There is a queen with privacy drapes and two doubles. The extra twins were in the living room and there was plenty of space. The hot tub was wonderful as was the large deck. The suite has very high ceilings and large windows to take full advantage of the wonderful views! The kitchen has everything you may need to cook for your family. The bathroom has a large shower and great water pressure with yummy fluffy towels. There is even a washer and dryer in suite which we took advantage of. I am the pickiest person I know when it comes to accommodations and I can tell you Kevin and Lois have done a wonderful job of creating a "retreat". We will always stay here when we are in the area! Thank you Kevin and Lois!!!
