I rented this hose over my wedding weekend and could not have been happier with my experience! The house was spotless and had everything we needed. My sister and I were the first to the house and when we arrived, we were both overwhelmed with the place. They had the place lit up for us and music playing-such a great welcome! It was like they were telling us all the hard work put into the wedding is paying off and now it is time to enjoy it, and enjoy we did (after shedding a few tears)! My friends from out of town were able to enjoy easy access to the beach and loved the huge porch to sit and enjoy the sounds of the waves. The layout of the house also allowed for plenty of space to just hang out without feeling crowded, which was perfect when mixing a couple groups of people that had never met before. After arriving at this property, the only need for cars was to the wedding-all other time spent was on the beach or out to eat/drink on Front Beach. Not only did the house meet expectations, but the rental company was fabulous! They were very quick to answer any questions I had before renting and got back with me in a timely matter regarding questions that had to be addressed with the owners. Their service continued after check-in. With all the rush of a wedding weekend, we locked ourselves out the morning before the wedding and about half an hour before a wedding shower was to take place. I called the office and within 5 minutes, they were there to let me back in. Their quick response and understanding helped us to avoid a major setback and for that I am very grateful! I could not be happier with the rental company and the house! You will not be disappointed! I will surely keep this house in mind for future rental needs on Isle of Palms.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Traveling with my best friend and 2 dogs to get away from snow for 2 months can be a challenge until we came across this home for rent. The house is spacious and pleasantly surprised to have large bedrooms, even the one with 2 sets of bunk beds. The first floor master opened onto the newly screened in long porch. The second large bedroom w/ queen mattress was located on the second floor on the opposite side of house which meant neither bedroom disturbed by walking ,tv or bathroom use. The second floor bathroom is spacious with double sinks and lots of counterspace and cabinets. Staying 2 months requires more storage than a weekly rental and this house had walk in closets and plenty of kitchen cabinet space. The washer and dryer came in handy. The house is comfortably furnished and feels more like a home than a rental. Unfortunately this winter was unusually cool and we did not get to enjoy the porch at all. It is a stones throw from the quiet part of the beach and allowed long peaceful walks. If you would like good food other than Iop places, Mt. Pleasant offers little local treasures like Graze, Five Loaves. Check out yelp. Yobes on Ben Sawyer is a great treat for frozen low fat yogurt with dozens of toppings. Ladies ,check o.ut shopping at Versona close by in one of the Mt. Pleasant shopping centers, needs to be seen and great prices. Living in New England, we don't notice any traffic really here. Getting into downtown Charleston takes 15 max and parking can be found on the streets although garages are plentiful and very inexpensive. Charleston is stunning but day trips to Brookgreen Gardens with incredible outdoor/indoor sculpture, Mepkin Abbey for serene walks by the Cooper river may also be fun. The county parks are outdoor gems for small entry fee and dogs allowed. Best of all, check the trolley on and off schedule and get a ride from Charleston back to IOP . Get tickets for local theater groups for $20 . On your way to the Magnolia Plantation and Drayton Hall, stop in Sunflower cafe and try sweet potato pancakes with pecan butter or eggs Benedict with crab cakes and fried green tomatoes, again a gem hidden in a small strip mall. We're returning for our 5 th winter on IOP hopefully and always discover new things to do. (Learned how to make sweet grass baskets this year) Enjoy, enjoyRecommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, age 55+.

My wife and I, my parents and our two black labs stayed here for 3 nights in September to be near Charleston, but not IN Charleston, and couldn't have asked for a better location. A 3 minute walk to the beach, 5 minutes in the car to Poe's on Sullivan's Island, and less than 20 minutes to historic Charleston. The covered/screened deck and enclosed ground floor area were perfect for the dogs while we were off in Charleston, and the pet-friendly beach (off leash before 8am, on leash the rest of the day this time of year) meant we didn't have to leave them shut in all day. Definitely an A+ rental if you're looking for a beach house that allows pets (which can be very tough to find). All the amenities were as described and pictured - not over the top fancy, but very functional. We fixed dinner there two nights and found everything we needed in the kitchen (but be sure to bring your own spices, the cleaning crew is very thorough in that regard). Mt. Pleasant Seafood Company on Shem Creek was a good bet for fresh shrimp and same-day yellowfin tuna. All in all it was a perfect getaway location for us, and we would definitely rent it again and recommend it to anyone looking for a pet-friendly beach house.Did you find this review helpful? We have visited IOP several times over the years and this is the most enjoyable stay we've had yet! The house is in an excellent location: short walk to the beach, quiet neighborhood (seemed to have a lot of families with young kids), close enough to the shops in the center of town for our teenagers to bike or walk there, but far enough that beach was never too crowded near our entrance. We found the house to be clean and well-maintained. In fact, the management called us early Saturday to offer to let us move in early and volunteered that cleaning staff could be called back if we had any concerns (this might have been a response to the earlier reviewer). We went through the house pretty closely on arrival and found all linens in place and everything in good shape, looking very much like the pictures. (I also saw that the earlier reviewer was concerned with bugs; we did not see any bugs or spiders in the house during our stay, although there were some under the house in the garage and outdoor shower area, which is open to the outdoors.) The porch is a great feature of this house, especially the screened-in area that is accessible from the master bedroom. Even on very hot days, the oak trees on the property and the shady porch remained comfortable and was a real pleasure to sit and read. The house even had a nice assortment of books, including severalPat Conroy novels. The kitchen is well-equipped and we found it quite clean. We used all the appliances (except what seemed to be a spare coffee maker) and they worked fine. They also have a bar with a nice assortment of cocktail glasses. The kitchen table and dining room table each could sit our family of 6 comfortably (it would have been tight with 8, if everyone sat down together.) There also is a nice bay window by the kitchen table. Beds were clean and comfortable. Master bedroom is downstairs with its own bathroom and access to the screened porch. Two bedrooms and another bathroom upstairs, including a room with 4 bunks that this young kids loved, although we did have some trouble keeping the vents from blowing cold air on their beds at night. Service was great in booking our visit and during our stay. Duncan was responsive to calls and emails and greeted us at their office when we picked up the keys. A nice extra service is someone brings the garbage cans down to the curb so we did not have to remember garbage days, which we had to do on previous trips. Great vacation!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

5 Stars for the Isle of Palms and Charleston, 2 Stars for this house. I would like to say that I find these reviews very helpful when planning our family's vacations. I like to know what real families think. So, I feel like I would be doing others a great disservice if I wasn't 100% honest. The house is in an amazing beach resort community, and just 2 blocks from the beach, I found the house itself to be an awesome layout with plenty of room, it just seemed to need alot of tlc. When we arrived we were greeted with an ant infestation in the kitchen. We found a can of Raid under the sink so I can only assume management must know of this ant problem. While unpacking groceries we found that everything seemed very unkept. I'm wondering if housekeeping had came in at all before we had arrived. Counters and tables were dirty with food debris, fingerprints, etc. We wound up running all dishes we planned to use through the dishwasher, because the inside of the cabinets seemed so dirty. The coffee pots were left dirty and one even had coffee left in it! Also, the bathroom mirrors, showers and sinks seemed untouched. Although linens were provided, one of the eight beds had no pillowcase, and there were none to be found anywhere in the house. For a house that sleeps 8, I wouldn't think you should only have 7 available pillows. We found ourselves doing lots of laundry because their were not enough towles and washcloths to go even a couple days. The porch areas were a nice place to sit for coffee in the mornings or after dinner at night, but if I could offer one suggestion, it would be that all the eves and railings could use a good blowing off. There were webs and spiders eveywhere, so it made it feel more like camping. Same thing with the outside shower area, you had to put your hands through webs to use it. Overall, I'd say the location of the house, the Isle of Palms itself, and all of the great things to see and do in the very close Charleston area made for a great vacation. I do think however, that when we return to the area, we will find another house/company to rent from as this one didn't live up to our expectations.Did you find this review helpful? This is a lovely house and is in an excellent location! The pictures really don't do the house justice. We found the property to be clean and well maintained. Its just a short walk to the beach and to some of the beach front restaurants and stores (but you have the benefit of being far enough off the beaten path that you don't hear the noise.) . The entire transaction of booking the house, picking up the keys, etc was very smooth and everyone we dealt with was very pleasant and professional. We would recommend this property to others and would love to return for another stay if we get to the Isle of Palms/Charleston area again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

My family came down for the Wildlife Expo and we rented this house for the long President's Day weekend. The location is excellent with great access to the connector and the beach. The house was maybe a little better than advertised and everything was clean and seemed pretty new. My kids and dog loved it and we will definitely return.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children.
Owner response: Glad you guys had a good time and we appreciate your feedback. We look forward to your next stay and thanks again from booking with us!! Hope SEWE was fun.

Don't look at the outside of this house and discount it- it is deceiving and the pictures don't do it justice. It has been recently renovated very nicely and feels more like a home than walking into some place full of junk people pulled together for a rental house. The location is great. Not on the beach but literally a 2 minute walk- you step out the house and look left and there is the water. No major roads to cross to get to the beach- it's right there. You can walk to the bars and restaurants in 10 minutes but feel very much away from it all...came in handy after a few margaritas. The house has great flow and is really comfortable for a group. We loved hanging out on the screened in porch and the old trees gave some great shade in the hot weather. And they let us bring our dog. The attention to detail in this house is great and is really good for the price.Recommended for: Pet owners, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, age 55+.
