We (grandparents) spent the week in the Black Hills with an 8 year old grandson seeing the sights, (including climbing Mt. Harney ..recommended by the owners. Our stay was terrific. The cabin is well located and rather quite charming. The kitchen is particularly well stocked with quality cooking gear. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We were thrilled to find this cozy little cabin for Memorial Day Weekend. I stayed here with my 2 month old daughter and 5 year old son and we all had a wonderful time! Connie is a great owner - she literally bent over backwards to ensure we all had a great time. The place was spotless and just enough space for us. Best part is that it was such a value. My only feedback would be that there is no door from the hallway to the bedroom area (this may have changed since then) which would have been helpful when putting the kids to bed. Otherwise, great stay - we really loved it!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

What a great cabin. Tucked away in the beautiful picturesque South Dakota hills. When we arrived, we were graciously greeted by the owner who went out of her way to make us feel at home. She even turned down the bed and turned the heat on before we arrived. When we left, there were a few items that we left behind and thought we had seen the last of them. She mailed those back to us at no charge. Could not have been a better trip. Thanks for you hospitality!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, adventure seekers.

This was a great location from which to explore the Black Hills area. The cabin was clean, pleasant, and comfortable. Connie was friendly and helpful. The Mammoth Site is worth a visit when you are here. I would love to stay in this cabin again someday and explore further.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Our family of 5 spent 3 days here and feel so fortunate to have found such a great place to stay. The cabin was clean and well supplied. It was wonderful to have our own kitchen, where we could prepare food that all of us enjoy, without worrying about our kids eating nothing but restaurant mac & cheese for 3 days! It was very convenient to be close to Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, & Mount Rushmore. We were able to easily visit Wind Cave and the Mammoth Site as well. After spending our days doing "touristy" things, we enjoyed coming back to a secluded log cabin where we could spy deer roaming about right outside our windows. We would definitely return if we made another trip to the Black Hills, and have already recommended this unique spot to our friends.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We recently stayed at this cabin- there were 3 of us, my husband, my daughter(9) and me. It was in a great location- quiet, yet close to town. The cabin was impeccable with great wifi speed! Unfortunately, SD was under a fire ban, so we couldn't grill or use the campfire pit (which was one of the reasons we chose this location). The owner was really friendly and helpful with recommendations to local restaurants and area attractions- everything she recommended that we did was great! She was very responsive and came by to see how we were getting along in the cabin. While this cabin sleeps 6, it was a bit tight with all three beds open in the bedroom. Two of the beds were pull out couches, and when open, there was limited walking space. Based on close proximity to many attractions and activities, and the great price, we would love to come back and enjoyed our stay very much!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

We loved the cabin, very well kept, clean, secluded and quiet, exactly what we were looking for. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. There is a beautiful firepit just across the way for you to enjoy the cool evenings sitting by. There's plenty of wildlife for you to sit and observe, deer, turkeys, hummingbirds, (no buffalo). The owner Connie is such a sweet and enjoyable person to speak too. She has put together a binder of brochures of the local restaurants, things to do & places to see, which is very useful. This cabin is not far from Custer State Park if your planning on spending some time there. This is a great place to stay and we will definitely be back.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This cabin was perfectly suited for our family of five with children ages 7.5, 6 and 1. The location can't be beat as it's just a few miles from the entrance to Custer State Park where we spent two whole days exploring, hiking, swimming and watching the wildlife. It's also close to Mt. Rushmore and all the other Black Hills attractions. Connie and her family made us very welcome and provided a comfortable stay for us. We would absolutely stay here again on a return trip to the Black Hills!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Where to begin? (We are still smiling! ) We brought our young great-granddaughter with us on this trip to the Black Hills so she could experience the beauty and flavor of this part of our great country. Connie's cabin met and exceeded all of our expectations and meeting her and her children was so enjoyable, we didn't want to leave! The fun of "living" in a log cabin surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife really brought the old west flavor to our vacation....it was close to the town of Custer to enable us to enjoy the numerous good restaurants and grab some groceries, but it also offered us the peace and quiet that is very special to us. Our great-granddaughter really enjoyed exploring around the cabin and was very excited and happy we had stayed there, as were we! She couldn't wait to get back home to tell her friends about how much fun she had. What a nice place to relax and contemplate what an extraordinary country we live in. Thanks again, Connie, for everything. We certainly highly recommend staying here. We are surely coming back, with probably two great-granddaughters next time!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
