Its quite possible that this house may be overlooking the most beautiful vista in the Berkshires! A freshly updated and painted wraparound porch and deck overlook not only the Berkshire mountains but downtown Great Barrington as well. There is a lush, grassy, lawn with a child’s swing set / climber, a porch swing, and a lovely wicker seating area which leads onto a deck with a charcoal grill and smoker and yet another set of table and chairs, alfresco, with a sun umbrella.
Inside this charming lower level apartment there is one bedroom with a queen size bed and wonderful views! There is window unit AC, a bathroom with a shower, a reading room with wood fireplace, a music room with upright piano, and a large bright open eat-in kitchen with seating for 6. There is a fold out full futon bed in the living room that can easily be used to accommodate an extra guest or two!
Ideally, this is a rental for a couple but a couple traveling with a child could make use of the sofa bed. Wireless internet in the house. Must bring your cell phone. Good service is available!
This house is perfectly positioned on Castle Hill within a 2 minute walk to our gorgeous neighborhood swim hole: Lake Mansfield Park, complete with a sandy beach, free swim access with Lifeguard on duty, picnic tables with grill, and a kiddie park with swing-set and climber. Look out for Mr. Ding-a-ling, daily, selling ice cream. No motorboats are allowed – but feel free to bring your canoe or kayak. The winter brings ice-skating on the lake and ice fishing. It’s wonderful!
Just a quick five-minute walk brings you to the center of Great Barrington for shopping, fine dining, galleries, movies, live music, theatre, shopping at the Farmer’s Market, live “David Grover” concerts every Saturday morning during the summer, and much more. Within a ten to twenty minutes drive, you are in the heart of summer stock theatre, dance, Shakespeare, and Tanglewood. This property is lovely. Feel free to contact me for more information.
