"Mind Massaging Experience" at RiverWoods Cottage Retreat.
We come up to our special place several times a year to enjoy the peaceful river sounds, unwind and enjoy the wonderful people in the Dahlonega area.
We recently added a large screen porch for relaxing and napping. Enjoy the newly installed bar on the outside deck for eats and drinks, where everybody has a view of the river.
Our home was built in 1992 and comes wiith all the expected amenities, Wifi, dish TV etc.
As you walk the property you will see nature at it's finest!

Let me begin by saying I personally know the property owners. I may be biased, but I am also quite honest. My husband and I have not been able to vacation at the home as much as we'd like due to scheduling conflicts, but in my opinion, it is definitely home away from home. The peacefulness and serenity is so refreshing that even a few days at this property is worth it! I am also a clean-freak and have severe allergies-and I can honestly say I would eat off these floors! The house is spotless, decorated with coziness, and the beds are incredibly comfortable! We are reserving our dates in August to take advantage of the great kayaking on the river and drink our fill of the wine at Wolfe Mountain winery...plus I love browsing the shops in downtown Dahlonega, the candy store has the best taffy ever!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

Stayed for the weekend while visiting the North Georgia college campus. Had two teenage sons, and grandfather along, and all had a wonderful time - was peaceful, but also adventurous, as the boys had their grandfather (84+) hiking and climbing around the property. Very close to the square for restaurants, but would have been just as happy staying put and cooking. Super location, great house, beautifully decorated inside and out, and the screen porch and outside firepit were two favorite gathering spots. The river is beautiful, amazing and relaxing. Our only complaint would be that our stay was too short to enjoy it all!! Thanks!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

About: My Bride of 39 years and I are very excited to share our special place with you and yours. We are full time residence of South Florida, near Ft Myers. We have owned RiverWoods Cottage Retreat since October 2005. The property has all the ammenities necessary to make my Bride and I want to return time and time again. We are so close to everything yet still in a wonderful private secluded location. We have the best of all worlds. We visit Dahlonega several times and year and really enjoy ever moment on this property. The local people of Dahlonega and surronding areas are outstanding. They are full of kindness. Have fun and enjoy all that RiverWoods Cottage Retreat has to offer.
Why Dahlonega:
My Bride and I searched for 8 years before selecting this location. We searched all of North Geargia with my Brother and Sister-in-law, countiued into North and South Carolina. We stayed at Bed and Breakfast locations in most towns visited. The first town visited was Dahlonega. I told my Wife, this is my choice but we continued on. Later returnning to Dahlonega and making Dahlonega our choice. The decision was based on the waterfront property location,privacy, great fishing, unbeliveable view of the river and surroundings, the people, food,wineries, festivals, and great shopping. This is the "Biggest Little Town" I have ever visited. So much to see and visit. Enjoy!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The trip to RiverWoods is very unique. The drive from the main road is beautiful. You might see deer, turkeys, beaver and birds of all kinds.
When you arrive, the firist thing you hear is the roar of the mighty Chestee River. As you explore the property you will find areas where the water is calm and quite,. You continue along the 600 foot frontage and you will hear the that wonderful sound at the "Big Rock Bend", located convinently at the back side of the house. There you will find the fire pit for those marshmello/ hot dog roast in the evenings. For those looking for quite time, follow the walkway at the side of the house and you will find " Leaning Rock" with a beautiful view of the Chestee River. Have a seat, relax, enjoy. Don't forget to look for "Hammock Beach", a nice sandy area at waterside.
