Alarka Creek Log Cabin (10435 Lower Alarka Road Bryson City, NC 28713) is located just three miles from Bryson City - voted by National Geographic as the best gateway-town to the Smokies! We are easily accessible to all major highways and activities. The cabin is located on three acres with a large trout stream dividing the grounds that are beautifully landscaped with large trees, lush flower gardens, water features and rustic charm. The sounds of the rushing river will soothe your senses and awaken you to the beauty of the mountains! Whether casting a line for trout or just sitting in the rocking chairs on the creekside deck, you'll soon be enveloped by the natural serenity of Alarka.
The Serenity Suite
The Alarka Serenity Suite is quickly becoming the most popular of our rentals not only for couples but by families also. Though not a cabin ... the Suite offers the very best views of the creek. It is set down very close to the river ... and there are so many windows in every room that you literally feel surrounded by the serene drift of the water all around you. The decor is inspired by the old mountain life, using 'rescued rustics', mountain antiques and special touches to make the Suite 'the most charmingly decorated' of our three rentals. The Serenity Suite has a King size bed in the bedroom with beautiful linens and quilts, a very comfortable full-size pull-out couch in the living room, a breakfast table in the full-size kitchen, a writing desk for inspired moments and all the other ammenities listed for our rentals below. The porch looks out over the creek and will make you want to linger on it with rocking chairs, a cozy swing and whimsical accessories. Candles are provided in every room for a romantic ambiance that will soften the heart and relax the spirit. There is a freshly landscaped scene by the creek with fresh grass and beautiful flowers where you can have a fire at night or you can cook out during the day. A little ramp that leads into the creek lets you get your feet wet while watching the ducks float by. The Serenity Suite has been well named and once you have stayed there you will know why too.

We decided to make a last minute trip to the mountains after the holidays and found Serenity Suite and it was perfect. It feels like you are worlds away from the hussle and bussle of life and you can really just enjoy the mountains. The suite was just perfect for the four of us and the kids loved feeding the ducks and just being outside next to the river. Bryson City is minutes away and we did the Polor Express Train Ride which was wonderful and a great experience for my 6 and 4 year old. A wonderful trip and look foward to coming back soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

We wanted to make the Suite a special place to stay and just had it repainted and redecorated along with the outside relandscaped. I know I have heard a lot of our guests say that since the suite is surrounded by windows it feels like you are floating on the water expecially in the bedroom. I am so glad that the children had a good time and I hope they were able to feed the ducks. They will come right up to you if you feed them bread and take it out of your hands. My wife and I love the mountains. we have explored a large portion of the carolina mountains and have stayed in numerous cabins. The Alarka Creek Cabins were, without a doubt our favorite. It was wonderfull to bring our dogs and have them made welcome! It was a great invironment for them and us! To try and put things in perspective about our stay at Alarka Creek: everybody vacationing in the mountains arrives with plans to see or do certain things. But when you get settled in at Alarka it is so incredibly peacefull and picturesque and the proprietors are so nice that it becomes very easy to just stay right there at the cabin and enjoy! Don't get us wrong there are tons of fabulous sights and things to do right around the corner from your stay at Alarka. Its just so pleaseant and welcoming there that you may find yourself just hanging out and smiling alot! Would we recommend them to friends or family? Yes! We can't wait for another opportunity to go there again! We are not looking for another part of the mountains to explore right now. We have found the spot that we want to go back to again and again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Alarka Creek Cabins are an excellent way for an individual, couple or family to see the quiet side of the Smoky Mountains. Over the years we have satyed in all three Cabins/Rooms. Located on Alarka Creek right outside of Bryson City the place is wonderful. Full accomadations (kitchen, pots/pans/dishes, washer/dryer, linens and so on means that mo extra packing is necessary in that department. The grounds are lovely to walk or sit. Bob and Sherry are excellent Inn Keepers. They are warm and friendly as they welcome you to the mountains. If you are there in the Summer, be sure to wave to the Smoky Mountain Railway Train which passes on a bluff across the creek at 11 o'clock sharp. A+++Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

About the owner: Hi my husband is Bob and I am Sherry. We came to Bryson City from Florida but we both spent several years in the military and were blessed to spend a lot of time overseas. This has been our dream for years and God has blessed us to become the owners of Alarka Creek Cabins for the past 4 years. We are pet friendly because we have 4 small dogs and 3 cats, and we know how difficult it is to find nice places to stay when traveling with you pets. We love people. We love meeting new people, getting to know them and enjoy watching them have a wonderful vacation and hopefully becoming part of their family when they come back year after year. We love making the perfect vacation happen for our guest. We enjoy making special experiences for honeymoons, birthdays and reunions. We like to make sure that the cabins and grounds are clean and that we make everyone feel as if they were at home. All of that combined makes it all worth while. God has blessed us beyond our dreams and when you visit us you will know why. Alarka creek is truly one of God's grand creations.
Why the Owner Chose Bryson City:
My husband and I visited Bryson City in April of 2007 and stayed 3 nights in the River Birch. After the first night we knew that this was the place we wanted to live. The suite is secluded but close enough to town to get the things you need. The towns people are charming and make you feel like you are a part of something special. There are so many things to do in the surrounding areas that you would have to come back year after year to experience everything that this place has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
As soon as you pull into the parking area for the Serenity Suite you will be surrounded by the coloful gardens, the green grass, the old tall trees and the sound of the creek as it rushes over the rocks and sand. We have several gardens on the property which you will want to walk through and enjoy and are surrounded by so many trees that you feel like you are in a forest. As you enter the suite you will be welcomed by a basket of homemade bread, local fruits and chocolates. You won't want to unpack before going out to the porch where there are rockers to rest in and the creek just feet away to dip in. The children will have no trouble entertaining themselves as they play in the water, climb trees, look for rocks or just explore. Trout in the creek are calling you to catch them and a grill awaits for the dinner you will cook and eat at on the table by the creek. There are up to 90 ducks a day which will come right up to you in hope of some crumbs of bread and sometimes you will even catch a glimse of their babies floating or waddling by. Pick a rocker, sit back and relax while you watch the groundhogs and their babies play and roll down the hill as they put on their show in the late afternoon. We have 4 small dogs that love to roam the property so with your permission they might just come for a visit too. There are waterfalls down the creek you can walk to through the creek which is a challange if you are up for one and a bridge on the other end of the creek you can walk under if you have not had enough for the day. God has given us a wonderful property and a wonderful place to live and we know once you have been here you will feel the same way.
