Bradenton Beach house description
The house stands on stilts and has 3 levels. Ground level contains 2 garages that can be used as storage, and a carport for at least 3 cars (plus 5 more parking spaces). In one of the garages, guests will find all beach gears they need – beach carts, chairs, umbrellas, floaters, balls, etc. Each of the units is 1630 square feet (!) living space (that's more than some single family houses!) and has 2 private bedrooms/2 full bathrooms with spacious living room, kitchen, laundry, spacious porches and balconies.
Both levels receive very pleasant breezes that blow across the island from the Gulf. There are many days in a year when guests find the air conditioner unnecessary.
Eastern half of each unit features an open concept, tiled (upper unit) or hardwood (lower unit) living room, kitchen with breakfast bar, and dining room with a big round table and comfortable sofas. Two french doors lead to a very spacious porch furnished with outdoor furniture. Adjacent to the kitchen is a laundry room equipped with washer and dryer as well as an iron and an ironing board. Kitchen has a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, stove with oven, double sink with garbage disposer and dishwasher. Cupboards contain plenty of cookware, dinnerware and cutlery for gourmet dining and wining. Entertainment center has a big screen high definition TV (HDTV) and DVD player. There are plenty of fiction and mystery books by best American authors provided for avid readers.
In addition, we provide a WiFi internet connection and free phone calls within north America (optional). Guests can set up a cozy office space using provided table and chairs and telework (that might be hard to do in the relaxing atmosphere of the island :-))!
There are two spacious tiled bedrooms on the west side of each unit. Master bedroom has full bathroom, walk-in spacious closet, night stands, big mirror, chest of drawers, comfortable queen bed, and cable TV. Guest room contains a closet, night stands, big mirror and two twin beds. Large glass sliding doors lead from both bedrooms to the balcony overlooking path to the beach along the West side of the house.
Another full bathroom is located off the hallway. In the hallway closet, guests will find supplies of fresh bath and beach towels, linens, blankets and extra pillows.
In total, the two bedrooms provide comfortable sleeping for family of four; however, there is plenty of sleeping space in the living room for two more persons.
We are animal lovers and consider pets family members who deserve a vacation too. Polite pets are welcome to stay for additional flat fee needed to help us cover extra cleaning expenses. Please note, we are charging a flat $100 fee for small to medium pets (up to 2), and an extra $50 (total $150) for large pets (up to 2) or 3 or more small pets. Inquire with owner for special cases.
If you are making a last minute reservation, we will require you to also add a $30 key service fee, so you could pick up the keys at the local management company. For advanced reservations, we mail the keys with prepaid return envelope to your address of choice at no extra charge.
If you have generated a Booking Request using Book Now button, and some fees are not automatically included, we will adjust the final cost by subtracting the missing fees from the $300 refundable security deposit. Please check with owners if in doubt about applicable fees.

Best of both worlds – the bay and the beach! The house is situated in the middle of a narrow part of Anna Maria Island on the boundary of the cities of Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach. From the house’s porches and balconies, guests can see Sarasota Bay to the East and the Gulf of Mexico to the West.
It's close to water on both sides with constant ocean breezes, magnificent Bay sunrises and Gulf sunsets. The climate is temperate with very few cold days even in the dead of winter.
A beautiful, uncrowned white-sand beach is just steps away across Gulf Drive. The warm waters and gentle surf of the Gulf are perfect for wading or swimming.
On your way to the beach you will pass convenience store that is opened around the clock to pick up your cold beer or an ice cream. There are usually fewer people on this stretch of the beach than elsewhere on Anna Maria. Maybe this is the reason why sea turtles prefer to lay eggs in our dunes and birds choose to nest on our beach. If you are lucky, you will catch a glimpse of how young hatchlings run to the ocean after digging themselves from the sparkling white sand after sunset. This is also a paradise for bird watchers: squadrons of pelicans and frigates flying by, colonies of several species of seagulls and shorebirds fishing and foraging in the surf.
In the water, beach goers can observe groups of skates and other fish, as well as occasional manatee and, of course, dolphins. Shell collectors will be surprised to find many species of beautiful unbroken shells in the sand. Some people find fossilized shark teeth.
The house is located midway between two drawbridges linking the island to the City of Bradenton on the mainland. Gulf Drive, a heritage trail, continues to the south through Longboat Key to St. Armand's circle where there is a third bridge to the mainland at Sarasota.
A large supermarket and grocery store, hardware store, drugstores, restaurants and pubs are within easy walking distance, or a quick ride on a free Island Trolley away, in bordering city of Holmes Beach.
The bustling center of Bradenton Beach is 1.5 miles south at Bridge Street with its marina, boardwalk, historic pier, shops and fine restaurants. Just to the south of Bradenton Beach across a drawbridge is the upscale community of Longboat Key, with its ocean-front mansions and high rise condominiums, followed by trendy shops of nearby St. Armand's circle where a drawbridge connects the island to Sarasota.
Many famous Florida attractions are within easy driving distance:
Sarasota - 35 min, Tampa Airport: 1hr, Disneyworld - 2.5hr, Bradenton - 10 min, Longboat Key 5 min.
Recently Manatee County introduced a Trolley Service, which runs about every 20 minutes. These pleasant old-style vehicles, which are open in the back, travel between Coquina Beach to the South and the Village of Anna Maria to the North. There are many stops along the way including one near the house. This service is presently free and provides connections to the regular bus service to Bradenton.

About the owner: We are biologists currently living and working in Maryland. We love Florida, nature photography, clean environment, animals and adventure.
Why the Owner Chose Bradenton Beach:
We always wanted to own a house in Florida. We traveled all over the state from Panhandle to Key West and from the Atlantic to the Gulf of Mexico. Anna Maria Island won our hearts with its white pristine uncrowded beaches, clear calm water of the Gulf, abundance of birds and marine creatures and absence of high risers and strip malls. We became owners of this house in late 2011. We fell in love with its airy light atmosphere and generous floor plan. From the flat roof, one can overlook long stretches of the island and observe sunrises over Sarasota bay and sunsets over the Gulf. We have made lots of renovations, including new roof and porches, to make sure our guests feel as comfortable as possible both during short vacations, and long monthly rentals.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We like that the house does not stay right on the beach front. This creates a more common home-like atmosphere, as if you would live in the city, yet know that you can walk 200 steps and find yourself in a completely different world of the beach, with bright sun over deep and warm white sands. As an extra bonus, it is attractive for people who would like to vacation on the budget, yet be ridiculously close to the beach and the bay.
