This place was excellent! We booked a last minute trip to this property. Not only was the owner very easy to deal with the cottage was great. Usually when you get to the house it doesn't look quite as good as the picture. This house is better than advertised. I almost hate giving it a rave review, because I want to keep it somewhat a secret. The house was clean and the view was perfect! Bay to the left, Beach and Lake Superior straight ahead. Due to the weather we spent alot of time inside. The comfort level was high and the kitchen comes with alot of extras you don't find in most rentals. The owner paid attention to detail with furnishings and appliances and utensils. We had a great experience with this property. Thank you for sharing it with us.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

It was glorious, exactly what we were looking for. The place was great and the directions worked perfectly. There wasn't much more we could have asked for. With the location we were able to have almost all of our meals on the newly remodeled/added sun porch. We did a sunset bonfire on the beach, grilled two of our dinners in the yard, hit up the brewing company, and just thoroughly enjoyed relaxing. The dunes was one of our favorite spots and we bought a few pieces of art from artisans in the village. It was great. Thanks again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

When we arrived I was amazed at how nice this cabin was and very clean with all the comforts that you could ask for. It was totally furnished and beautiful. The views of Lake Superior were great and a nice sandy beach that you can walk into town. I would and have recommended this place to my friends. We were married there on Lake Superior and will be coming back to stay next year Great location.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Arrived on a Friday evening for the weekend. Cottage location was even better than described. Situated on the south shore of Lake Superior, it was everything we hoped. Spectacular views, secluded, romantic, quiet and furnished with all the amenities of home. Pleasantly surprised by the many upgrades. Found the cottage clean and well maintained. All new leather furniture was a cozy place to sit and read. Enjoyed coffee each morning on the sun porch that is completely enclosed. Cookware, linens, cable tv, etc, even a washer and dryer is provided. Loft has two beds and there's also a pullout sofa on the sun porch. This cottage was the perfect setting for a romantic getaway and the little village is equally charming. Something similar to Northern Exposure. Very peaceful place to be. Considering a return visit for Memorial Day and our girls get-a-way weekend. We understand the annual Music & Arts festival in August is a must attend. We will be back. Thank you.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Arrived to find the cabin, unclean, food debris on carpet under kitchen sink, mouse feces on bathroom counter, in sink and toilet. Mouse feces on kitchen counter and dishes. Peculiar odor in the home. Shredded paper towels on counter. Mouse pantry in the paper towels on the bakers rack. (Coffee beans etc...) The shower had dirty wash rags strewn about, as well as someones half used toothpaste tube. The bathroom carpets had dirty boot prints on them. I am not certain if the linens were clean or dirty, as the beds where made haphazardly. I have pictures of the cabin's condition upon my arrival, and I have yet to hear from the owner with the refund of my deposit. Was not a pleasant experience. The last thing you want to do after driving 7 hours is clean someones house before you can unpack, eat or sleep in it.Owner response: Very odd indeed. I rented this cottage out between May and October of last year. I keep a book where people may post their comments. Every single response was positive. Granted,I usually do not rent the property out in the winter and had construction going on the interim, and did not see the interior since the last renters left in September. However I feel this review was unjustified. Further, I had the carpenter check on the interior AFTER these people had been there and heard a completely different story. I would be happy to provide references of individuals who have stayed at the cottage and detailed pictures of the interior. Again, an example of people changing their mind at the last minute.
