If you are looking to find a truly sacred spot on the river, look no further than the Neafie Lodge. The Neafie Lodge is located on the largest part of the Big Creek just a stone’s throw from the fabled North branch of the AuSable river. The Neafie is strategically located where all three branches of the Big Creek converge creating a very unique and private fishing experience.
The Neafie Lodge boasts 1500 feet of story-book, gravel-bottom, easily wadeable frontage with no canoe traffic or public access nearby. It’s just you and the river!
Even if you aren’t a fishing enthusiast, the Neafie Lodge is the perfect family and family reunion getaway! Although you may find you never tire of traversing 11 acres of woods, stream and open fields, you can find the gorgeous Garland Golf Resort and the incredibly scenic Hartwick Pines State Park is just around the corner. State trails abound all around the property for hiking, snowmobiling, ATVing and mountain biking.
The Neafie, according to our bird watching enthusiastic guests, is a bird watching mecca. As one guest put it and we quote: "And I really think you ought to consider promoting it as a Midwestern wildlife destination. I know an awful lot of people who would come for the Kirtland warbler tours and the nesting loons/ swans, minks beavers, etc. We saw a pilated woodpecker on your property. It was fabulous!!!"
Located in northern Michigan NE of Grayling, the Neafie Lodge is 1500 square feet with the following amenities: Full kitchen with all the amenities of home. Great room with gorgeous fieldstone fireplace. Private sunroom that can be used as a bedroom if desired. Full bath with tiled floors and shower. The rustic feel of a true log cabin with open beams, hardwood floors and all the comforts of home.
