This beautiful unit is ocean front, beach front upgraded, and ready for fun and relaxation. Linens, towels, beach chairs, umbrella all provided! No renting linen or excess packing or lugging! Incredible views up and down the beach, sunrises that will shake your senses, and the easiest beach access and pool relaxation you will find. Check calendar for availability.
Brand NEW tile floor, NEW HD TV's, NEW kitchen and laundry appliances. Brand new carpet for 2013.
Let all the worries slip away as you watch the sun slowly rise out of the sea, listen to the slow roll of the breakers and stroll down to the water. The night ocean has washed up treasures You're right on the beach so you are the first to see them. The flight of the sea birds, osprey and pelican, and the soft clean sand complete the relaxation.
Sea Colony's Edgewater House building is the hub of activity. Compared to other 2 bedroom units in the oceanfront buildings, Edgewater's units are much larger and the balconies are almost twice the size. Balconies, exterior, and common areas all recently renovated. Sea Colony's oceanside amenities are centrally located in the Edgewater House building - indoor pool with Hot Tub, NEW large fitness exercise room, store/deli/ice cream shoppe, kiddie camp, bingo, aerobics, and convenience desk.
We have been coming here for many many years and can share lots of helpful information to help you fully take advantage of Sea Colony and the Atlantic Shore.
As the family awakes, prepare a meal in your fully stocked kitchen, or go downstairs to the beach store at the foot of the elevators for some freshly made donuts or cinnamon rolls hot out of their oven. Edgewater is the center of Sea Colony east so everything is conveniently close, pools, fitness center, hot tub, etc.
Sip coffee on the balcony as the family gathers towels and beach chairs from the stocked closets, maybe a boogie board and umbrella and you are off for a day of swimming, volleyball, beach jogging, or more likely, beach napping.
Your kids play safely as you doze under the watchful eyes of the trained and experienced beach guards.
Count the number of dolphins you see migrating up the beach.
Lunch is easy in your unit, or on the promenade and the beach deli is only a few steps away. The pizza place across the street delivers to the beach or one of the tables with umbrellas on the promenade.
Edgewater House has the only promenade deli and beach store on oceanside of Sea Colony so it is super convenient. To cool off, you dip into one of the outdoor pools, or the indoor pool, which is also in Edgewater House.
Why not try the NEW exercise workout room before supper, and finish it off with a soak in the Hot Tub. They are also right there. You can easily design your own spa retreat. The massage/ bodywork center across the street comes in handy, while the kids get their hair braided or face painted a few steps away.
Edgewater House is in the middle of the Sea Colony oceanfront and was designed to be the central location. It has the indoor pool, sauna and hot tub, as well as retail in the 8 building complex. The large deck has free concerts occasionally and lots of tables with shade. Security is top notch, it is a private community gated and guarded, and there is lots to do.
For dinner, walk into Bethany, try one of the excellent restaurants, recommendations posted in the unit, walk the boardwalk and stop into the arcade and after that a custard. The independent bookstore in town has great mysteries and lots of local authors.
Bethany has a lively artist community and lots of it is on display in town and along the boardwalk. Make plans to return to the boardwalk the next morning for a drop in yoga class. A trip to the arcade or mini golf course in town, or the local TIKI BAR restaurant overlooking the ocean, and you are ready for a stroll back to your unit.
Watch a movie, sip a wine on the balcony, or just fall asleep listening to the waves wash up against the sand while the moon leaves a path on the water. Its been a good day!

The condo was very clean and well stocked with all the necessities. Our view was exceptional of the ocean and beach area. Air conditioning very comfortable. I loved having a waher and dryer in the condo! Bethany Boardwalk was in walking distance and very clean and family friendly. I thought the $35 fee for the recreation pass was overpriced (per person) For a party of 6 people is was very costly for the use of the pools. That was the only thing I could really complain about. The front desk people at the security office were not very imformative or helpful at all. After a 5 hour drive it was a very frustrating and tiring experience. Jon, the owner was very helpful and well spoken on the phone. I got a really good feeling from him. I would stay again if the recreation prices were reduced.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you for your review! You are welcome anytime. Glad you were pleased with the unit! The tile floor and kitchen appliances and hallway paint are all brand new, and we upgrade each year. We have an exceptional cleaning person-not a service-and she only does us on the "switch days" not a whole string of units. Yes the washer and dryer are new and really helpful, and Bethany has often been rated in travel magazines as one of the hidden jewels of beach resorts because it is family oriented and clean. As you mentioned Sea Colony charges a recreation fee to all users, owners and renters, to cover the costs of the private beach, Life Guards, pools, spa, fitness center, gated security, etc. They keep the facilities in really good condition and the fees go toward that. It is not one we can control, but we list it on our rate page. The owners pay most of the recreation charges but they do charge 35.00 to renters in high season. They reduce it to $10-15 per week during the off seasons. The security people are usually really helpful so I'll contact you directly about your experience for more detail. Thank you for your comments! Enjoy the rest of your summer, Jon

My group really enjoyed staying at this condo. There was a great view and it's very easy to get to the beach and to the pools. We were close to restaurants but not so close that it was noisy. This was very relaxing place to stay. Everything we needed for cooking was available in the kitchen. With 2 bedrooms and a pull out couch and convertible beds, we had plenty of comfortable sleeping space and still didn't feel crowded even with all of our stuff. The floor plan was larger than I expected. We had good weather but there is room for games, puzzles, watching movies etc if you have to stay indoors. Everything was very clean which is important to me! Bethany Beach is a safe place but this condo does have a good security system so we felt extra good about leaving our laptops, etc when we weren't there. There are large carts to help carry your stuff from car to condo which made moving in and moving out very easy. We recommend going to the shipwreck museum which is a short drive away. For our next trip to the beach, I will be checking to see if this condo is available!! We'd love to stay there again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We have upgraded some things since your last stay..new appliances, new flat screen 46 " Hi Def TV, new wifi and cable modem, and new linens and towels that are provided. Come back anytime! Thanks for sharing your review. The Ustun's, 704 S Edgewater

Great view overlooking the ocean and beach. There is easy access to the beach and the pools. Ample parking. The property was very clean and well equipped, including wi-fi, cable TV, stereo system. Spacious condo with comfortable beds. Kitchen is clean and well-equipped with modern appliances. The beaches are clean and well-staffed with life guards. Just across the street there are some shops and restaurants. Downtown Bethany is just a stroll up the beach where there are great restaurants, shops, miniature golf, and other fun things to do. By car, there are nice places to hike and historical landmarks within just a few miles. In all, a great place to stay to relax and enjoy the beach!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I had a wonderful time staying at the Oceanfront Sea Colony with an exclusive view of the ocean from the balcony and just a few minutes walk to the beach. The condo was clean , comfortable and very well maintained. Although I always went to the beach to swim, I passed the pool daily and it looked like an inviting place. There were numerous restaurants close by if one didn't feel like cooking as well as the Rehobeth Beach boardwalk with many attractions nearby. We cooked most of our meals and enjoyed having our own kitchen and dining space and then relaxed in the living room and played games or had music jams. I would definitely return for another relaxing time at the beach.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

With two bedrooms, a large living area with pull-out couch, well-stocked kitchen and two bathrooms, this unit can host a crowd comfortably. The beach is literally 2 minutes away where the water and waves are splendid. Sleeping with the door open allows for wonderful ocean breezes to lull you to sleep. Bethany Beach village is about a 10-15 minute walk up the beach or by road, where there are lots of places to eat and play putt-putt golf. A perfect spot for families!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: My wife, kids and I have loved having this unit in the family, and love the idea of others enjoying it. We have been coming to Sea Colony for years and this unit has been in our family for many years. We have had LOT of fun here. We like to walk and swim. Did you know that if you float on your back out past the breakers, you can usually hear the dolphins talking to each other? We play beach volleyball, throw the football, and swim for hours. We like to alternate between beach, pool and hot tub, and walk in to town. The kids are safe and can be free to roam.
Why the Owner Chose Sea Colony:
Sea Colony is perfect for ease of use, relaxation with family, or a private get away. It is not a party destination, but has plenty of fun. The town boardwalk activities are excellent. Great for families, or somebody wanting a private retreat. One of the best restaurants in town is across the street from Edgewater House. Sea Colony is rated as one of the best tennis resorts in the east, and golf is close.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We love the quick easy beach access and pools. The beach is easy for swimming. Our kids can be independent for much of the day. The indoor pool, hot tub and new fitness room right downstairs are real benefits of staying in Edgewater House.
Sometimes we rent bikes for an afternoon or take a kayak cruise on the bay or ocean.
I like fishing on one of the boats out of Indian River Inlet, a 10 minute drive to the north. Beach Bonfires, KIDDIE CAMP and craft camp are fun for the kids.
