Our family, mom, dad, grown daughter and boyfriend and our 16 and 19 year old had a fabulous time at this cabin/house. We loved the peace and quiet and the sweet mountain air. Saw moose several times in the yard! That was a treat! A female and her calf, mellow and and no issues. We went jet skiing on Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake. Cabin is well equipped with nearly everything you could want in the kitchen. Furniture and beds extremely comfortable! We felt right at home! Kay was wonderful to work with. We were there 3 days but would love to go for a week soon!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We have stayed at the Dream Catcher cabin several times. Each time we appreciate the beautiful setting and comfortable accommodations more! The cabin is set in an idealic mountain setting. The large deck allows us to enjoy the outdoors even when it rains. The grandchildren love to play on the deck. We enjoy a short drive or walk to the town of Grand Lake to take in the shops, coffee shops and restaurants. One weekend we saw 16 Moose! I think that's a record! The cabin provides everything you need for a wonderful mountain getaway. It is very clean and has a fully equipped kitchen. We would highly recommend staying there.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you Donna for your positive review! Every bit helps. Wow!!!! 16 moose??? A new record! I hope you all returned and regrouped OK and Adam's truck made it. We should get together soon for a QUIET dinner! Kay

My husband and children and I visit every year and it is by far the highlight of our year! The cabin is clean and super comfortable- we feel at home right away. My favorite thing to do when I wake up in the morning is to take my cup of coffee out to the patio and drink it on the porch swing while I listen to trees and other peaceful sounds. With three kids under 5 I really appreciate that all the conveniences of home are readily available, yet adventures unlike any we can experience in Texas are everywhere! Columbine Lake is close enough to walk to with little ones in tow. We can fish, kayak, and the kids can even swim without even leaving the neighborhood! When bigger outings are needed, my husband can just hop over to the golf course, and the kids and I head into town where we check out the cute local shops, the beach at Grand Lake, and lots of yummy food options. We look forward to our visit every year at Dreamcatcher Cabin! Thank you for your amazing cabin and the memories you are helping our family make there!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you for your generous review! We look forward to your return! Kay

Owner info

About the owner: We are Coloradoans who know how to appreciate the great mountain outdoors. We feel visitors will get a satisfying experience when visiting, whether you are an active outdoorsman/woman or just up to enjoy the quiet mountain air and sun. We had our first blind date in Grand Lake over 40 years ago and have enjoyed it ever since.
Why the Owner Chose Grand Lake:
We bought this home because so many activities are readily accessed from this location.
There is lake access to: Columbine Lake, Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Resevoir, and Lake Granby, all within a short walking or driving distance.
Also the Village of Grand Lake is a short drive away and provides strolling through town shopping, or watching the sail boats float and the speed boats fly across Grand Lake, or play in the water at the swim beach. Rent a boat or paddle boat, fish, kayak, or water ski; or you might just cruze the lake sightseeing the mountains that encircle the lakes.
Hikes of all sorts are available including many along the Colorado River, even up to its headwaters!
Drive over Trail Ridge Road, the US's highest continuous paved road, to Estes Park for more shopping and sight seeing.
Stop at the top visitor center for amazing mountain top views from above timberline at 12,000 feet, a quick lunch, and souvenirs. Hike out to various points along the way for breathtaking views of the region's valleys, glaciers, and mountains.
Do NOT forget your best camera and extra batteries! There is nothing in the US like this!
Also dress for ANY weather in the mountains, from warm weather to winter type weather even in the summer. Take a picnic but be prepared to take shelter if weather rolls in.
Bring your backpack and wet weather gear. Don't forget sunscreen and chapstick - Mountain musts!
Horse rentals available for an equestrian experience or hay ride at nearby Winding River Resort.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The lot backs up to the golf course, and with a vacant lot next door it feels nicely private. The Golf Course Clubhouse is only 1/2 mi. away. The lower bedroom has its own electric heater/stove. Our favorite space is the east facing outside covered deck large enough to accomodate many and includes a patio table + 6 chairs, additional seating wicker couch, a swinging bench, and BBQ. The cabin is simple but efficient. Rooms are generous with lots of windows. Ceiling fans keep the air moving if needed, and a woodburning stove makes the great room very cozy. Satelite TV is available.
When there are no fire restrictions you can enjoy a fire in the firepit out back. Please be EXTREMELY CAREFUL as fire danger can be great.
