If you're in the mood, there's always shopping in Carmel, mesmerizing beauty at the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, or peaceful sunsets at the nearby Big Sur or Point Lobos trail sites. Monterey Bay Aquarium is a meandearing drive alongside the ocean, or you can go past the aquarium to catch a band playing along Cannery row or a movie at the Lighthouse Cinemas. The week we spent in this home was all we had hoped it would be. The minute we stepped into the house we felt at home and it was just as pictured. The sunroom became our family gathering place and is what our seven-year old grandson mentioned when he was writing a story about his spring break. The yard and patio were delightful. I just can't say enough good about the house. It became a sanctuary for us after our big days of sight-seeing and prowling the beaches at PG and Point Lobos. We would absolutely recommend it to friends and we will be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We loved the location of this home. We were pleasantly surprised of how close it was to the beach and what a good surf spot Asilomar was. The home was much larger and lovelier than expected and had everything we needed. Our toddler girls loved exploring the backyard. We could have easily invited another family to join in the relaxation and beach fun. This nature vacation was much better for us than staying in the more congested neighboring town of Monterey although it's super nearby.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This house has it all, a quiet street, a wonderful backyard and gardens, and lots of attention to detail. Our family with 2 5 yo boys stayed here for 3 nights and could not have been happier. Very clean, soft, comfy, (and yet upscale!) fully stocked kitchen, a great sunroom, fireplace, etc. A well maintained property a few minutes from Asilomar tide pools and beach area. Highly recommend!!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We rented this house recently for a long weekend and it was great. It is spacious and well-equipped and has a wonderful back deck. It also came with 2 passes to the aquarium which saved us about $70 (regular adult entry is $35 each) and allowed us to skip the lines and enter through the members-only entrance. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is a lovely, comfortable home in Pacific Grove. We enjoyed the house, the surroundings, and were able to walk to the beach (a bit far, but worth it). The sun room was a favorite, as was the garden. Convenient to town and Monterey. The owner was very nice and helpful.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Thanks for a lovely weekend. Such a peaceful location. Close to the beach yet sheltered from the wind and the traffic. The best features of this house: for the kids: 1/2 mile from beach with sand, fish, crabs, tide pools, big rocks to climb, otters, seals, and deer cul-de-sac with basketball hoop enclosed yard with butterflies and birds for the adults: steps from the trail for daily runs sunroom for reading Thanks again! This immaculate, quiet home was a perfect place for our family to welcome in the New Year. With so many comfortable places to relax...the living room, the beautiful sun porch, and all the bonus deck areas in the beautifully landscaped yard, it was a perfect setting for together time, yet still provided enough space for anyone who wanted a little quiet reading time. The well appointed kitchen had everything we needed to cook family meals and the spacious bedrooms made for a comfortable night's sleep. A short walk to the butterfly grove and beach provided time in nature, and the quick hike into PG was enjoyed by all. This little gem is a sure bet for a perfect getaway for couples, families or friends. The owners were so accommodating and delivered everything they promised, including welcoming bottles of wine. They were prompt in arranging paperwork and refunded security deposit in a flash. Even four days was not enough to do everything we wanted, so we will definitely stay here again!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

...That's how we felt during our stay at this wonderfully relaxing home. It felt like we were visiting someone's home rather than staying in a vacation rental. It was a short walk to Asilomar beach and its big waves and you can keeping going along the coastline and take the "long way" to downtown PG, or simply walk through the neighborhood and be there in about 15 minutes. About the owner: I moved to CA 1978 and my wife in 1973. Faith brought us together 24 years ago just down the street from our house in 1989 and a year later we bought this house. For the first 10 years it was a work in progress then we started to enjoy the house and everything the area has to offer. The best of our memories have been made with our friends and family here. Having a picnic down the street by the beach, BBQ in the backyard and intimate dinners next to the fireplace with lots of local wines and I mean LOTS of wine!. We know that your visit will be a memorable one.

you have the best of both worlds. close to the ocean and also a few minutes drive will take you to breathtaking hikes . two things we love to do. Bike paths from the house by the beach to lover's point and cannery row.
