This is a life-long dream of mine to build a cabin in one of the prettiest places in Colorado!
Marble is a very historic town located 60 miles from Aspen in the Crystal River Valley. It is a beautiful 1 hour and 15 minute drive from Aspen to the cabin.
It is a place that offers skiing, fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, etc. and the best panoramic mountain views Colorado has to offer!
I own a fly fishing guide service in Aspen and have brought hundreds of my clients to my cabin over the years.
Most people really enjoy the quiet nature of of the valley and how relaxing it is to spend time in the mountains. This spring I had Mark Sevilla of Sevilla Brothers Hardwood Flooring (651)-436-2450 come out from his home office of St. Paul and install a American Walnut hardwood floor that is 'off the charts' gorgeous!
There is not a bad season to visit although the winter adds another step in the process with the wood stove and adding wood to it.
My wife owns Bonnie's Restaurant and is a private chef.
We often take our fishing/ horse back riding guests to the cabin and she will prepare meals for the outing.
My permit in the White River National Forest allows me to take clients to some high lakes where we do overnight camping trips.
My favorite is Geneva Lake which is a one hour four-wheel drive ride from the cabin along with a hour hike to the lake.
It is fabulous in the summer for people who enjoy hiking for the scenery and looking for wildlife and the flowers are incredible!

The views from the cabin were spectacular. We couldn't have chosen a better time to visit, the fall colors were amazing! The cabin itself was comfortable and a perfect size for our small family. Sitting on the deck in the adirondack chairs, gazing into clear night sky at the stars, and hearing only the sounds of nature was incredible. The wood burning stove, which is the only source of heat, kept us nice and toasty and provided wonderful ambience at night. We used candles at night, rather than relying on the battery/generator powered electricity. It gave that extra touch of relaxation...and I recommend others to pack extra candles when visiting. The cabin was maintained well and equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked adequately. Bed linens, towels, and additional supplies were provided, so there were minimal items we needed to bring/buy. The beds were very comfy and our daughter enjoyed sleeping on the sofa next to the wood stove. The cabin wasn't spotless when we arrived, however it wasn't that big of a deal. It is afterall, a cabin in the woods! We just clean what we felt needed it, and focused on enjoying our stay. We do plan on bringing along some board games with us next time. There is a nice selection of movies & music already provided for you, not to mention the wonderful game room downstairs! The owner gave us all the information that we needed, and we had no problems. Even with short notice, Scott was very thoughtful and ensured that there was split firewood sitting by the door waiting for us and that the electric and gas was turned on upon our arrival. There were a few hiking trails that we saw, one just beyond the end of the driveway. Beaver Lake at the bottom of the mountain is a beautiful place for taking photos or fishing. We saw many people with ATV's and horses, as there are other trails in the area. Marble is an interesting town with plenty of history to take in. We especially enjoyed visiting the town of Redstone. Stopping at the General Store for an ice cream cone to take to the park across the street along the Crystal River is an absolute must! We also visited the historic district of Carbondale. It's a nice place to park and walk. Peppino's Pizza has fantastic pizza and the staff is very friendly. In the end, we are anxiously awaiting our next visit to the cabin. It is the kind of retreat that our family has been searching for and plan to return time and time again! Thank you, Scott, for such a great escapeRecommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

MY Husband and I went in March for a little get away. We were welcomed by the owner who showed us around and also allowed us to use his snow mobile. My husband and I being very busy professionals were a little sckeptical about the place but after our visit we promised ourselves we would be back. Being just the 2 of us, we had fun playing pool in the game room, BBQ, We skiied, snow mobiled and enjoyed the sunset many nights and spent lots of alone time. The cabin is amazing! Its clean, beaituful, well taken care of with breathtaking views, quiet and away from others(Very private). The super markert is not to far with many other things to do in the area as well which we enjoyed. My husband and I had taken many trips and this by far tops many of them. The owner is very friendly and helpful and this is definintely a trip we will take again! I have also recommended a few friends of ours.Thank you Scott for making "your" home "ours" for a week! You made this a memorable trip! See you soon!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.
