My husband & I celebrated our 50th anniversary in Playa, along with our friends, who celebrated their 51st. Included in this reunion was our daughter & son-in-law and another daughter. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in your condo. It was absolutely perfect for everyone of us! My most precious moments were getting up early and with my coffee sitting on the balcony enjoying the sunrise and hearing the roar of the ocean. The furnishings, the ambience and the comfort, not to mention the location, which was absolutely ideal, made our celebrations the most fantastic ever. I would not hesitate to return to this condo for another wonderful vacation. My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in April 2012. The place was huge and gorgeous! Great location in the complex with a great view of the ocean. You're also able to walk pretty much everywhere, so you don't even need a car! We laid by the pool most days and also on the beach. The restaurant is really good, however you're so close to the main road with so many restaurants so you have lots of options within walking distance! We would like to come back and stay again with some friends.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Our family stayed here for 7 nights in mid-March - 2 adults and 3 kids (10-, 7- & 2-yr olds). Perfect location - right on a flat, white sand beach; directly behind the complex is the heart of 5th Ave; and a easy 5 minute stroll to Wal-Mart if you need any groceries. Of all the hotels/condos on the beach strip, El Faro has the largest and most kid friendly pool (plus, it is super clean!). Definitely do the $45 per hr poolside massage and there is free underground parking if you rented a car from the airport. The condo is very clean, well-maintained and spacious. Matter of fact, we didn’t even need the downstairs 3rd bedroom because the upstairs 2 king en-suites are very roomy. The condo had everything we needed and this particular unit has wi-fi and a private hot tub. The only thing that caused us concern is that the upstairs railings, that overlook the family room, are spaced wide and a baby/toddler can conceivably fall through. So, we always had to closely supervise the 2-yr old when he was on the 2nd floor. We thought the beach restaurants right near El Faro offered much better food/atmosphere than any of the places on 5th Ave. We particularly liked Zenzi and Fusion, as well as the restaurant attached to El Faro, Wicky's (which will also deliver right to your pool chaise). We did 3 day outings while we were there. We all enjoyed the ¾ day trip to the Coba ruins and a visit to one of the nearby centotes. We also went to Xplor (which was great for the older 2 kids but the baby couldn’t participate in most of the activities) and Xcaret (which we all thought was boring, including the dinner show where the food was inedible). Working with Marissa on the booking was very easy and smooth. The front desk staff at El Faro was also super friendly and helpful. We will definitely return!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to post a review. It is always great pleasure when people have enjoyed the property we also enjoy so much. Based on your feedback we will be exploring solutions to the upstairs railing as it was an oversight of ours as our children are somewhat older. We look forward to you visiting again.

You will be sold on this condo the minute you walk in the door. It is not only spacious and luxurious but it gives you the feeling of just wanting to move in and live there. The view off of the balcony at night of the lights from cruise ships and the lights from Cozumel in the distance and the sunset are almost as good as the breathtaking view of the sunrise on the white sandy beach and all the activities going on on the ocean. Each bedroom has it's own air conditioner and full bathroom which was very convienient. The appliances are all new and the sitting area and bar are very spacious which don't seem to have a problem gathering a lot of people around. I didn't think the jacuzzi would be used much but surprisingly it had several takers. The staff were always friendly and accommodating with anything from bringing water to giving directions and advise of where to go and what to eat and even printed out our boarding pass to save us time at the airport. Wickies always seem to have live music on the beach in the afternoons which was very good and they seem to host a lot of wedding ceremonies which add a little excitement. The closeness to all the restaurants and shops on 5th avenue is a true bonus as it is such a popular place at night it is a real adventure to check out the atmosphere and festivities of all of the different cultures. There are plenty of good restaurants the hard part is choosing one, There were taxis just up the street pretty much any time you wanted to go somewhere. The only down side is that time doesn't slow down for you so you can get everything done that you would like to do but I guess that's all part of the reason that you just want to come back againRecommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

We stayed in this beautiful 3 bedroom, two story El Faro condo in February 2011 and enjoyed everything it had to offer. It has an exceptional view overlooking the resort complex, pool and the exhilarating blue water of the Carribean Sea. It is has very convenient and quick access to both the beach and to 5th Avenue. The condo was very clean and comfortable with all the ammenties of home. We spent most of our days on the beach right in front of the complex and especially ejoyed the beach food/beverage service from the wondeful staff from Wiki's restaurant (which is located within the condo complex). The food at Wiki's was excellent and very reasonably priced. Enjoyed so much, we've already booked again for next year! Highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: We are owners of a manufacturers representative company for HVAC products in Saskatchewan Canada. We enjoy holidaying and spending time with family and friends especially in Playa which seems like a second home to us and our three children.
Why the Owner Chose El Faro:
After our first visit to the Mayan Riviera in 2000 we fell in love with the area and kept returning we then decided to purchase our first property at Paseo del Sol in 2004. We enjoy the many great aspects of Playa from the diverse cultures, ease of walking to all restaurants and shops. We find we can enjoy something different every visit and still go back to do our favourite things. The ease of getting to the Mayan Riviera is just another bonus for us and our friends.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
El Faro is one of a kind in Playa as it is 1/2 a block from the entertainment district and one block from the famous 5th ave the unique parts of this as you step inside the complex you feel like you stepped into seclusion as the sounds of the action around the complex just seem to disappear. With the onsite 24 hour security your whole family feels completely comfortable day and night. The huge infinity pool with integrated kids pool and the multiple lounging areas around the pool offers a uncrowded feel. The first class Wickys restaurant make this complex totally unique with its beach club feel by day and high end steak house by night.
