This is a wonderfully rustic cottage just outside of Lassen Volcanic Park (which is amazing for hiking , lake swimming, cycling, walking , sight-seeing...). It was really well-stocked, quirkily decorated and there were so many DVDs we could have spent all our time watching films! We only spent three days here but would have happily spent all summer in this lovely, spacious cottage and all the surrounding nature. We would most definitely come again!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at the lucky pinecone. The owners are very detail-oriented. Not only was the cabin beautifully and comfortable furnished, it was very well stocked with everything we needed to have a memorable cabin experience. They even had graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows for us to roast smores over their firepit. The location was perfect. It is a type of place made just for relaxing and exploring the area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+.

What a gem in the woods! Really clean, stocked with BBQ, Firepit and everything you need to make your meals. I would really recommend this cabin to other families. I think August would be the ideal time to go visit Lassen Park and enjoy some wine on the patio. Families with small children should be aware a rapid water drain is near the cabin and should watch them closely. Overall we can't wait to come back and visit!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

What a cute, cozy cabin in the mountains. We had the most awesome weekend exploring snowy Lassen Park. My boyfriend loved fishing Lake McCumber. The cabin was very comfortable and private. The sound of water from a waterfall behind the cabin was a nice surprise. We can hardly wait to retrun for another stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: We were born and raised in northern California and have two grown sons. We love the outdoors and nature. Our favorite destinations are the mountains and the coast. We love hiking, fly fishing, hunting, snowshoeing, exploring the back roads and of course relaxing at the cabin with something cold to drink.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Being only 7 miles from Lassen Park, our rental is the closest and it is the perfect location for anyone wanting to visit and explore this unique area. Getting away from the crowds and enjoying clean mountain air are two great reasons to visit our cabin. This is a true mountain cabin, uniquely decorated, but with all the comforts of home. The cabin is surrounded by forestland ready to be hiked and explored. You can also relax on the front deck or BBQ out back and watch the wildlife while listening to the sounds of rushing water. On most star filled nights you can look for the big dipper or other constellations or watch for satellites and falling stars. There are streams and lakes to be fished just a short distance from the cabin.
