La Tierra house description
Let the stunning views of the Jemez and Sangre de Cristo mountains be the backdrop of your next tennis match or special get-together with friends. Every window has a view, every attention to high-end detail has been made.
Come play a few sets on Casa del Coyote's beautiful tennis court (some call it 'the best court in New Mexico') with it's wonderful views and comfortable seating for spectators.
Perfect for a golf, tennis or bookclub getaway, as well as family vacations, this spacious adobe style house invites you to gather by the pinon-burning kiva fireplaces in the living room, take your morning coffee under the covered portal outside looking east towards the Sangre de Cristo mountains, or watch the sun set over the Jemez mountains in the west while dining al fresco on the kitchen patio.
The centrally-located eat-in gourmet kitchen, with its granite counters and island and SubZero, Wolf, and Asko appliances, is well-stocked with the essentials for making a great meal, and roomy enough for your entire group to hang out in. You can eat your meals at the pounded copper 6 person dining table (easily expanded to seat 12) inside, or at the oval outdoor dining table on the kitchen patio.
Why stay at an inn or hotel, when you can enjoy all this space?
Four separate sleeping areas allow you to comfortably spread out (see description), and three full baths help keep everyone happy.
Numerous tennis racquets are available if you don't want to bring your own, and a can of tennis balls is provided.
The house's 2.5 acres has extensive landscaping, and is fully fenced for your privacy and containment of your dogs.
Our caretakers live on site in a cabana that is well separated from the main house. They are eager to take care of any of your needs or concerns.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my mother's 90th birthday at this great house. The house has great indoor and outdoor spaces and the kitchen was large enough to accommodate all of the many cooks in my family. The location is perfect - quiet, not too far from the sights and restaurants of Santa Fe, and the night sky was amazing, especially for those in my family from the East Coast who rarely see stars because of humidity and urban light interference. We have added this house to our list of places to come back to!

Beautiful home; wonderful area; all amenities
Beautiful home; wonderful area; all amenities
We stayed in this lovely gated home the last two weeks of August 2013. I hardly know where to begin because we were so impressed with the layout of the house, the friendliness and service oriented caretaker and his wife, and our overall experience. We have come to Santa Fe for years but have always stayed closer to town but this year wanted to try something different. We got a different view (literally and figuratively) of Santa Fe and Santa Fe county and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The views are amazing and you are very close to 599 as well as 84/285 making anywhere convenient. The kitchen was very well equipped and I really liked the Wolf 6 burner gas stove - gas not being a feature I can have in our FL home. And the walk-in closets in every bedroom! Loved that as both of us are kind of fashionistas and travel with LOTS of clothes. Several days we went on hikes around the area - getting lost at least twice - but it was an adventure and we survived - we survived!! :-) and it gave us many memories to laugh about for years. There was only the two of us except for one night when my daughter and grandson came down, and we luxuriated in all the space after being in a Denver hotel room for most of the summer. My daughter LOVED the kitchen with its huge island with bar stools and large sit down table although neither of us cooked much - Santa Fe 's world class restaurants were too alluring. We would go back to Jambo's definitely and of course, the Shed, and El Farol and of course, even if you don't care for opera, it's worth driving up there just to see the magnificent opera house and fabulous vistas. And you can always go home and say that when you were in Santa Fe you went to the world famous Santa Fe Opera..:-). I must add the owner is impeccably honest and tries to be as accurate and thorough in her description of the home as possible. I guess if we had any inconvenience it was because we have AT & T and cell phone service was almost nonexistent. But the owner provides a landline with free long distance so it really didn't impact us much. Our GPS didn't find the house at first but later seemed to "get it". The wireless Internet service is a little slow but for most people it wouldn't be a problem at all. Summed up - lovely home accurately presented on VRBO. Sherrie and Chris

Awesome awesome stay!!
Awesome awesome stay!!
We had rented the house for hosting two dinner parties featuring our Chef Freddie Bitsoie. This was for a show we are doing entitled " Rezervations Not Required." The house was incredible and featured a dream kitchen that our Chef loved. Everyone was amazingly helpful and all our dinner guests loved the house and the location. It was a shame to leave but we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!!

I had a fantastic stay with some friends here in March 2013! The house is stunning with amazing views of Santa Fe, incredible artwork inside and plenty of room for us to spread out. The tennis court was a great added bonus! The whole area felt very private and we enjoyed the peacefulness of the home and surrounding neighborhood. Really appreciated the great upkeep of this wonderful getaway home--thank you!

We stayed 4 nights and loved it! The home is beautiful and well stocked with everything we needed. Rooms are large, especially the kitchen area. The decks have wonderful views of the sunsets, etc. The property manager Larry made sure that we felt welcome and had everything we needed. I can't think of one negative; the home exceeded our expectations in every way. Thank you to the owners and manager for making our weekend so memorable!

World Class Ahhh!
World Class Ahhh!
We (a couple) stayed for a week this August, and cannot praise this home nor the hosts highly enough. The photos don't do the place justice. It's a huge, quiet, tasteful, modern place. Summer heat but the evaporative cooling system made the inside a joy to come home to. Much more comfortable than any air-condioning system we've ever experienced. We have done a lot of VRBO'ing and this was by far the most thoughtfully well-stocked home we've ever stayed in. Anything you think you need, they've stocked it, in spades. We arrived a day early, and they went out of their way to do a quick turnaround and accomodate us. Homes like this make you understand why people want to live in Santa Fe.

What a great VRBO home! Very clean, beautifully decorated, lots of room. The kitchen area & living room were great areas to hang out but we all had our own private space in the large bedrooms. Perfect for our family with us on one end of the house and our adult kids in the other 2 bedrooms on the other side. Great outdoor patios on both sides of the house. Loved being out in the near desert but easy to get to Santa Fe. Had fun hiking, river rafting, and visiting Bandelier Nat'l Park; all easy to get to. Larry was very attentive, meeting us the first day and showing us over the house. Owner very quickly responded to all emails. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Fabulous Place for Tennis Ladies
Fabulous Place for Tennis Ladies
We had such an amazing time at this beautiful house. Every morning we woke up and played tennis. (Beware of the extra bounce from the altitude – the caretakers kindly provided high altitude balls.) When we were down one person, Nancy, one of the caretakers jumped in. She is a lovely tennis player and great company to boot. What a spectacular way to start the day. The views from the court are fabulous. We did Santa Fe –The Shed, the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, the beer pub at the Plaza and a couple of our crew tried out Ten Thousand Waves and raved about it. We went to Bandelier and hiked the Frijoles Canyon Trail as well as the Tsankawi Mesa. On our last day we drove up to Taos via the High Rd stopping at Estrella del Norte Vineyard for a tasting, Sugar Nymph restaurant for a great lunch, a little shopping at the artist cooperative and then on to Taos. In Taos we hiked the Devisadero Loop which is apparently a mountain biking trail, but also a great afternoon hike. A quick beer at the Taos Ale House and we were on our way home. We even had time before our flight the next morning to head into Santa Fe one last time and have breakfast at the French Pastry Shop. Everything was extremely accessible. We loved the area, the food and the stunning views. The house was the perfect home base. It is considerably larger than the four of us needed which allowed each of us to have our own space. Plenty of room for families to spread out. The kitchen is huge and a great place to hang out. The roof deck is the most amazing place to sip tequila and watch the sun set. Everything is new and clean – exactly as represented on this site - and the caretakers are extremely attentive. I highly recommend this area for a vacation and this house is the perfect place for a group of just about any size.

About the owner: Though we live on the East Coast now, we look forward to having more time to spend in sunny Santa Fe now that we have bought a second home there. We love tennis, golf, hiking, biking, eating out, art and opera, and Santa Fe is just the place to indulge in all our passions.
Why the Owner Chose La Tierra:
I grew up in Santa Fe close to the Plaza, and knew I wanted a Santa Fe home on the north side of town without the noise and congestion you get right in downtown. The land northwest of Santa Fe is known for its rolling hills, sweeping views and quiet, so our house located in the residential community of La Tierra, is perfect. A short ride to downtown Santa Fe, on a quiet cul-de-sac with beautiful views and a tennis court - - what could be better? The ride to and from the house to Santa Fe is actually a plus, the views of the mountains each way are spectacular. Santa Fe is the perfect vacation destination with something for everyone - - art, culture, restaurants, history, golf, tennis, hiking, skiing, biking, rafting. Our home is a great place to gather with friends, play some tennis, read by the fire or get away from the heat under the covered portal. Come enjoy it!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We are located just over fifteen minutes from downtown Santa Fe and close to the many activities available in northern New Mexico.
