Wake each morning to the smell of the sea air in this fantastic beach get-away with views of the Centerville River AND the ocean. Located only 200 yards from the warm sandy waters of Nantucket Sound at the entrance to Craigville Beach, your friends & family will be transported to an authentic old-fashioned Cape Cod vacation experience in the heart of this historic beach community.
This property has everything you need for a care-free vacation – enjoy your morning coffee from adjoining deck of the second floor Master Bedroom, the full, open kitchen for lunchtime breaks from the beach (Craigville beach is an easy barefoot walk to and from the house), and be your own grill-master in the ample backyard stocked with outdoor furniture for dining & lounging. While you’re out there, you will be amazed by the breathtaking views of the Centerville River and the wild life habitating in the surrounding marsh lands – literally, right in your own backyard. And speaking of yard, there is plenty of room for children to play safely in both the front, side & rear yards of the property. It’s even fenced-in.
With three bedrooms and two and a half baths, there is plenty of room for friends and family to gather and enjoy all Cape Cod has to offer in this centrally located beach house. Of course, there’s the world-famous Craigville Beach just a three driveways away, but you will also find yourself a convenient distance from such other attractions as The Cape Cod Melody Tent, taking a short stroll to the best homemade ice cream on the planet at Four Seas Ice Cream Shop, and exploring Downtown Hyannis’ John F. Kennedy Museum, boutiques, fine dining, casual pubs, the hilarious Joke Shop, and art galleries.
Hyannis Harbor is less than 3 and half miles away. Here you can catch a ferry boat to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket Island for a day of exploring or bike riding. Cycling enthusiasts won’t want to miss a day cycling the peaceful and quaint Nantucket Island. Just grab your lunch in a day pack and cycle through the lovely streets of Hyannis Port to Hyannis Harbor to board you and your bike on the Nantucket Ferry. And don’t forget that Cape Cod offers the quintessential mini-golf experience. We’ve played all over The Cape, and our favorites are Pirates Cove and Skull Island, both located a short distance away on Rt. 28. But please don’t feel like you need to remember any of this. As your hosts, we provide plenty of advice before your trip as to our favorite places to buy the freshest seafood, whale watch, deep sea fish, or just enjoy a nice seafood dinner like a local.

We wanted a house with 3 bedrooms and at least two bathrooms that was close to the beach and this home filled the bill. It is within easy walking distance of Craigville Beach and also backs up to a river. The listing was accurate and the property was very clean and well maintained, both inside and out. Lots of extra sheets and towels as well as beach equipment and a kayak we could use. A deck off of one of the second floor bedrooms was a lovely place to relax after our days at the beach. The backyard is fully fenced in so it was safe for our your granddaughter. It is less than half a mile to Four Seas Ice Cream (so delicious) and an easy, quick drive to Hyannis for restaurants and shops. The owner was very responsive to our questions and gave some good tips for places to eat. We definitely hope to stay there again next summer!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We loved the cottage! It was adorable, as well as clean, very comfortable and accomodating. The location was ideal. An easy stroll to the beach or to the 4 Seas ice cream stand. The backyard was so picturesque that several days we didn't even make it to the beach. We had an absolutely lovely week at this cottage in Centerville!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

I was very pleased with this rental. The owners’ communication both before and during our rental period was ideal and gave the family great peace of mind that we were in for a relaxing vacation and that all attention to detail was already taken care of. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the home and the neatness of the property. It is much as described in the vrbo ad and the photographs in the ad seem to be recent and represent the property well. The house is on the Craigville River and has just a lovely view of the water. From the deck off of the second floor queen bedroom, we observed beautiful white swans on the water every morning of our stay. The kitchen is ample, with a nice gas stove, full sized refrigerator, dish washer, and seating for 8 at the dining table and another 2 at the breakfast bar. We cooked a few meals here, but mostly prepared and ate our meals on the back patio enjoying the view of the river and the larger, seemingly new gas grill. We enjoyed the privacy of the back yard quite a bit when not at the beach. And speaking of the beach, it really is a barefoot walk away, and it was especially nice having the luxury of going to and fro without the hindrance of having to load the car and drive. The garden shed is packed with beach chairs, toys and various sundry that our hosts made clear were at our disposal to use. Grown children and grandchild vacationed with us, so we wound up doing laundry a couple of times during our stay. The in-house laundry facilities made this task relatively easy both the washer and dryer were large capacity units allowing for everyone’s laundry to be completed in one load. We would rent this house again, as the owners are pleasant people that show an attention to detail and seem to honestly care about the enjoyment of their guests. The kids all want to come back, as the property was practically right on one of our favorite Cape Cod beaches. All in all, one of our better family vacations.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners.

We are very excited to have secured this home again for this coming summer! The family stayed here last year and we could not have had a more perfect vacation. The property description is accurate and we were so happy to have the beach across the street and the river, literally, in our back yard. For our family with 2 smaller children, we could not have had a more convenient location to the water, beach snack bars, the best homemade ice cream we've ever experienced, and that wonderful penny candy store! The home is peaceful, lovely and spotless. The owners are professional and accommodating. We look forward to returning year after year.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We had a great weekend in a lovely freshly painted and decorated house, in company of a pair of nesting warblers who charmed us with their courtship a few yards from our breakfast table. The back yard of this house is a nature sanctuary, and we were able to observe a red tail hawk harassed by a flock of black birds, a family of swans coasting down the canal, and pelegrin falcons diving for fish at sunset. My room on the top floor had a private deck, and if it had not been for the chilly night, I would have slept there all night. I recommend this rental with great enthusiasm.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This house is charming and was perfect for our family getaway. It is nicely furnished and the bathrooms and kitchen are like new. It was very handy to have a washer and dryer for towels and kids clothes. Our bedroom had a large balcony overlooking an inlet with a beautiful view...there were even swans! We walked to the beach in about 2 minutes. The owner has thought of everything to make it easy to relax and enjoy the vacation--lots of outdoor furniture, a new grill, a kayak/canoe, wi-fi, a book of local recommendations, kitchen and beach supplies. We will definitely return.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, pet owners, sightseeing.

Spanky's Clam Shack
"Located right in Hyannis Harbor and always crowed during the summer season, parking can be tricky, but even if you have to pay in the adjacent public lot, it's really a nice spot to eat outside and watch the ferries and fishing boats come in. The seafood is very fresh and a great choice for families since prices are moderate. "

Prices are reasonable and there are plenty of choices that will be pleasing to children. Meals come with a homemade bread basket that is always exceptional."
