My husband and I just returned from spending a week (Sept 29 - Oct 6, 2012) at this condo. Condo is really cute, (whimsical ocean/ beach) , comfortable beds and an awesome view. The pictues are exactly what you are getting. The kitchen is by far the best "stocked" kitchen of any condo we've stayed in, the smokeless indoor grill was a suprise bonus - we grilled steaks our first day there. The electronic door code spoiled us! Not having to keep up with a key the entire stay was wonderful. We definitely recommend this condo - owner is really easy to work with, get in touch with etc... We are already looking forward to returning in 2013!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much Donna! I'm so happy that you had a great time at the beach!

Husband and I had a great stay in this condo September 8-15, 2012. We've stayed at Emerald Skye before, but found this particular unit to be much nicer. Was very clean, comfortable, and the kitchen is very well equipped even for amature foodies as we are. Owner was very helpful before our stay, answering emails and helping with some information on the area. Our visit to the Flora-Bama was a lot of fun too. We will book this one again. Thanks Amy, really enjoyed the week!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks Terri! I'm glad you had a great time and were comfortable at our condo. I'll look forward to y'all staying again. :-)

The condo was great! It was nice and quiet, and we really enjoyed being a smaller building so that the beach and the pool were less crowded. The pool is a bit on the small side, but it was never an issue for us and sometimes we even had it all to ourselves. The best part about the condo to me was the balcony. The chairs were comfortable and I could sit out there all day! It's pretty close to the beach, so the sound of the waves was really loud and relaxing. Inside the condo was very clean and neat. And when the owner says that the kitchen is FULLY stocked, she's not kidding. We used the blender several times over the week and considered using the slow cooker. I've stayed other places that were supposedly fully stocked, but weren't. THIS KITCHEN is the real deal. The only downside to staying at Emerald Skye is that the condo association probably needs to add more routers for the wi-fi. It was extremely slow during peak hours and sometimes paused completely. The signal was weak on the 5th floor, so adding a router or two wouldn't hurt. The upside to this is that it kept my husband from doing too much work during our vacation, and that's probably a good thing!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Tonya!!! I'm so happy you were comfortable!

Pros: In Orange Beach!! A/C works great! Cons: Elevator is absolutely the worst in the world. Many other guests said the same. Driveway is about 6 ft. higher than road, you'll tear up the back of your vehicle pulling in and out. Right next to fishing pier. You will swim with PLENTY of dead fish, fish bait. No canopies left on the beach, NO EXCEPTIONS!! Not convenient. Condo was okay, very very small. Kitchen table is in living room right in front of TV. Pillows and furnishings were very stained/old. Balcony furniture is cheap, not very relaxing. A/C unit blows hot air on you on the balcony, as long as its running. Not Comfortable. Was a cheap place to stay, you get what you pay for.Owner response: Adam - I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your Memorial Day weekend at the beach. I'm sorry but I feel I must respond to your review. The building was having elevator issues for about a week and unfortunately, that happened during your stay. The "driveway" issue you describe is actually 3 parking spots that are located under the building and the grade on the ramp is about 20inches, not 6ft. There is plenty of parking that is on flat ground. The dead fish & fish bait you experienced that weekend was reported on the news as a "natural phenomenon" & only occurs rarely but did occur on your weekend (which was also the start of Red Snapper Season so there were plenty of fishing boats out & about). We do not advertise to be a "luxury" condo and the photos that I post are accurate depictions of the interior and exterior. The condo is a 1 bedroom condo and is right in line with most 1br condos in the area as far as square footage (700sq ft) so we do what we can with furniture placement. The dining table has two drop leafs so it can be pushed against the wall when a guest needs more space. The sofa and rocking reclinder chair were purchased new in September of 2011 and scotchguarded. All pillows were purchased new within the last 12 months. I will be in the unit myself starting 6/24 and will inspect the furnishings for wear/tear & stains. I will certainly have housekeeping address those issues. Again...I apologize that you didn't enjoy your weekend at the beach. I wish you had notified me of these issues so that I could have addressed the situations that were under my control. Unfortunately, neither I nor anyone else in Orange Beach or Gulf Shores had control over the fish situation & the elevator was a maintenance issue that the Board of Directors was addressing. We do have plenty of parking beyond the 3 slots you had an issue with. Quote from Local 15 News on 5/29/12: While it's an unpleasant sight for beachgoers, biologists say this fish kill is natural. It's due in part to the recent soaring temperatures. "Warm weather equals warm water, which equals low oxygen in the water," said biologist Aplin. Aplin was down at Gulf Shores Tuesday studying the fish. She says they're bay anchovies, a species that is particularly sensitive to low oxygen levels. "They can't really tolerate that very well," she says. Aplin said fish kills happen from time to time and pose no health risk.

My husband and I really enjoyed our 5 night stay at this cozy, brightly decorated unit. We wanted a quiet vacation for rest and relaxation and we were not disappointed. The beach was not over crowded and there were plenty of eating places close by where we didn't have to wait in long lines for a good meal. The unit was well supplied with everything we needed so that we felt right at home. We will definitely go back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks Marsha! I'm happy to know you were comfortable and had a nice get-away to the beach. I hope you come back soon!

Wonderful! Our family had a wonderful time staying in your condo! The condo and the views from the condo are even better in person. From the time we reserved this unit, until the time we left to return home, we did not experience any problems. The reservation process was easy and everything in the unit worked to perfection. We found ourselves quickly bonding with fellow guests in other units at Emerald Skye and just had a wonderful stay. This was our first visit to Orange Beach (we have previously traveled a couple hours east of here) and we must say that this is where we will be staying from now on when we visit the Gulf Region. We went parasailing with ABC parasail (highly recommend) and found Bubba's Seafood just down the street from the unit to be good food at a reasonable price. We look forward to coming back to Orange Beach and Emeral Skye unit #52 again soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Brother Russ! I'd love to have y'all stay again!

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay Thursady, April 5 through Sunday, April 8 in this unit. The gulf view was totally amazing! The photos were a accurately reflection of of the unit and the property. The unit was very clean and well kept. The only problem we encountered was with the a/c unit in the living area. I will recommend the property to friends and relatives that are looking for accomadations in Orange Beach. The "Shrimp Basket" in Orange Beach and The "Mellow Mushroom" in Foley are two great places to eat. The zoo in Guld Shores is a great place to visit! Although we did not go to many attractions on this stay there are so many activities, attractions, and restuarants to visits. We enjoyed just walking and sitting on the beach. We enjoyed our stay and will return again soon. Thanks!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Loretta! I'm glad you had a nice weekend at the beach. Thanks for bringing the a/c issue to our attention. We've had it repaired and it works like a charm again! We'd love to have you stay at our condo at Emerald Skye again! Amy

This was a great place to be. It was right on the beach, the balcony overlooking the Gulf and I watched the dolphins swim by in the morning while I enjoyed my coffee. We will be back later this year and I hope to stay in the same place again. I HIGHLY recommend Emerald Skye, it's one of the best kept secrets in Orange Beach.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Karen! I'm so glad you had a nice time. Please do check with me again on your next trip to the beach! I love it when my guests return! Amy

My family and I stayed at Emerald Skye #357482 during a recent trip to the beach. We loved that it was a small building and that we had lots of privacy. The condo was exactly as it was advertised in the listing and the owner was prompt in responding to our inquiries and the price was very reasonable. The direct front beach access was great and though we couldn't go out on the pier shown in the picture it was beautiful to look at especially at night. This is for sure a place we would stay again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My girlfriend and I had a great time and everything we needed was right there. The view is awesome, and the condo is much quieter than the huge mega condos we stayed at before. If you go to the beach you may have want to bring your own lounge chairs or purchase them at Walmart of DG Store when you get there. The chair rentals on the beach in front of the condo are steep (25 bucks for the first day, 15 bucks each addt'l day). The balcony is great, the view is incredible, the chairs are perfect, and a considerable amount of privacy compared to others I've stayed in. Will definitely stay there again.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Benjamin! I'm so glad you were comfortable and had a relaxing stay. Amy
