comfy, cozy, well equipped - right down to the white terry robes which were great for wearing to the hot tub convenient to Kenton - walk to in 10 mins for great breakfasts short walk to MAX on Interstate for trip downtownRecommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

This year's Mother's Day weekend was very special thanks to the Portland Sanctuary. My daughter and her roommate moved to Portland last year from Southern California. I decided to come up to see her on Mother's Day weekend. Rather than stay at some hotel, we decided to make it a vacation for her also. Her roommate's mother also came up so the 4 of us made it a Mother's Day weekend retreat. We were not disappointed. The adorable cottage was even better than the pictures showed. It was decorated so cute and homey, just perfect. But that's not all, we also got to enjoy the serenity of the backyard with the Koi pond and the jacuzzi. We spent the weekend enjoying the sights of Portland. It was very close to downtown and freeway accessible. I definitely will return to the Portland Sanctuary.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

I have rented this little gem of a home on more then one occasion, when ever I am visiting friends and family in Portland. It is fairly easy to get to and not TOO far from the highway (but far enough that it is in a quaint neighborhood). The back yard is like a secret garden and feels very romantic for nights in the hot tub or just lounging around with a book. If you have kids, there are great gold fish in the pond for feeding and space to bounce around. Inside is charming and cozy and feels just like you are in a relatives home. All the basic needs are met. For someone who is local and just needs a weekend getaway, whether to write in peace, have a yard to lounge in or just a change of scenery, there isn't a better place to feel right at home when staying away from your own abode. Also it is very convenient to the highway, major grocery stores and parks as well as good backs streets for cycling and running. I enjoy visiting my friends and family in Portland, but prefer to have my own space to retreat privately. This darling cottage provided me with 2 weeks of heaven, filled with peace and quiet to nurture my spirit. The gardens are a joy to view from the jacuzzi spa, watching the birds abong the trees in the blissful grove. I slept SO well there no doubt because of my AM/PM soaks in the spa. From the moment we pulled into the driveway of this darling house, we were both impressed and in love. It is located in North Portland. We treated ourselves to a 3 day getaway. I did not want to stay downtown, I wanted something out a little ways, where we could relax outside, but still drive to the city if we wanted to. We were so thrilled with our stay here! From the beautiful.stocked kitchen, to the very cool "hidden" 2nd bedroom,to the large privacy fence that encloses the property, the whole place is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The best part, the back yard. It has a totally private hot tub overlooking the beautifully landscaped back yard. There are walkways wondering around with a Coi pond and fire pit and little lights that come on, all over when the sun goes down. I cannot wait to go back, this was a wonderful place to stay! Thank you so much!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+.
