What a gem! Kids and adults alike were so comfortable and content in this beautiful, well-appointed, and very clean home. Noni has thought of every detail and then provided extras. She left no stone unturned when she anticipated what her guests would need! We truly had everything we could ask for and especially loved having such a well-equipped kitchen. We also liked having access to the Pine Island Beach Club because the beach was quiet and it also provided shade and a nice pool. This was our first stay in the Outer Banks and we are already looking forward to coming back!

Got kids who don't HAVE to be on the beach all day? This is the place for you and your family! Firstly, Bluebird is CLEAN. It has the best selection of kitchen utensils/dishes I've seen at an OBX rental home (been to 6). This great house is situated on a cul de sac, relatively safe for kids to play, ride bikes, scooters, etc. There are all sorts of "appropriate" DVDs and games for kids. Books galore (kids and adults) also. It is such a comfortable layout...we could put the kids down and enjoy some real adult space/time. Wifi worked great. There were NO bugs, no stinky Sound smell...and the Currituck Club was situated nicely between Corolla and Duck. It was close enough to the beach and Tim Buck II to ride our bikes! A good work out, but absolutely doable! Having Harris Teeter nearby made eating in so easy....which was a great cost savings. The Hammocks Pool is literally across the street from Bluebird and there is a sizable 1 foot area for smaller kids that leads into a 3ft area. It is perfect for families with kids of multiple ages and who have varying swim skills. The only need for improvement was on the trolley service: it was not reliable. It was more sporadic than we anticipated and we spent too much time waiting. It came every hour, if that. It was also crowded sometimes, so even if you had been waiting for 45 minutes, there wasn't enough room for you/your family. We ended up driving or biking, mostly, to get around. Trolley aside, we will definitely be back to Bluebird! Oh -- the owners were very organized, communicative (had a terrific binder of all sorts of OBX recommendations) and although I never met them, seemed lovely, just like their home.
Owner response:Thanks Bluebird Fans for the wonderful review of Bluebird! We just wanted to let readers know that the Currituck Club Board has voted to add a fourth trolley to their fleet of trolleys. Hopefully, this addition will help alleviate some of the waiting time the Bluebird Fans experienced in 2010. In addition, we are pleased to announce that we have joined Pine Island Beach Club. This exclusive amenity was offered to a limited number of Currituck Club residents and allows our guests another excellent beach option.

We are back home and so sad we had to leave the beautiful Outer Banks, Corolla, and this awesome home! Let me tell you, we loved this house! It had everything! Every time we were looking for something, we found it! The kitchen was completely stocked with every utensil and appliance we needed and more. There were spices in the cupboard and things like foil, baggies, laundry detergent - everything you could possibly think of! We were so happy this home had everything we needed for our 2-1/2 year old! All of the toys and beach toys were awesome! The pack and play and booster seat were perfect!!! The decor in this home was beautiful. We truly fell in love with this house and did not want to leave!!! Everything we found on the internet was accurate and the pictures were great, but the house in person was much more beautiful!! What a pleasure it has been working with the owners to rent this home. Every step of the way they were prompt, polite, courteous, and just wonderful to work with. We are so pleased we were able to rent from them, and will certainly recommend this home to our friends. The area, we thought was the best around. Corolla is just beautiful! It wasn't touristy or tacky in any way. It was very lush and understated. There was alot to do - loved that the trolley took us to the beach and back - what a great amenity! The golf course was great - our husbands really enjoyed golfing on such a nice course. Being by the grocery store was a big help as we cooked mostly all our meals at home. It was a wonderful trip and we are so glad we found this home to stay in.

Wow! What a place. This was our fifth trip down to the Outer Banks, and each year we like to change spots for variety. But honesty speaking, we found our dream home away from home and will be staying here from now on. This house has everything you'd want. In fact, there were times when we'd say 'wouldn't this place be perfect if it had this our that', only to find that it in fact had it, with top of the line equipment and easy to follow instructions. Detail, detail , detail and very clean! Ahead of our arrival, Noni was quite thorough in providing clear instruction and a guide with tips and recommendations to venues throughout the OBX, a true pleasure to with whom to work. We have already recommended this property for our family and friends. A no brainer given our experience.

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and it was a wonderful experience. Bluebird is a very beautiful home and looked just like the photos online. The house is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. It had every ammenity we needed for the week, plus much more. Noni and Bill were very helpful and provided a lot of information about the home and the Outer Banks, so it was very easy to plan our trip. I would highly recommend this property.

This is our second time staying at Bluebird and once again, have nothing but the highest praise for the home and the owners - Noni & Bill. The home is immaculate, very spacious, and clearly well cared for. It is fully loaded for all ages and interests (toys & amenities for the kids to all the latest electronic and entertainment gadgets to a stocked kitchen ready to cook/bake any gourmet meal). You will not want/need for anything more. There is a nice, clean pool in the backyard as well as a hot tub. If you want something a little bigger - a great community pool is about a 30 second walk away. The beach is also very easily accessed by trolley (stop if about a minute walk away) or car. The Currituck Club is a great community to have on hand - newly resurfaced tennis courts, golf, fitness center and new playscape for the kids. We never had to leave the neighborhood but when we did - shops, restaurants and other activities were within minutes! Noni and Bill are welcoming, responsive, helpful and organized. They supplied us with a plethora of information prior to our arrival and were sure to check in on us once we had arrived. I would recommend this residence to everyone and we are already talking about our next trip to Bluebird! We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

This was one of our family's best vacations so far. Our first time renting a vacation home (The Bluebird)and to the Outer Banks and both FAR exceeded our expectations! Our 8 yr old loved the bunk beds, game room, video games and pool. Our 8 mos old loved the toys, the pool and all the room. The whole home was beautiful and so well organized and equipped that we spent very little time settling in and got right to our vacation. Our busy little family enjoyed the time to reconnect and relax. We were sad to leave and can't wait to return to The Bluebird...

Our family could not have asked for a more perfect vacation! Bluebird far exceeded our expectations! Bluebird is so comfortable, cozy and well provisioned that we all felt like we were staying at our favorite Aunt’s vacation home instead of a rental!. The kids (ages 5 and 9) loved the toys, games, Wii System, PlayStation 3 and beach toys that were provided for them! The adults appreciated the fact that we didn’t have to pack beach chairs or coolers and we all loved the Bose surround sound and DVR! Thanks for thinking of so many things that made our stay so enjoyable!

We absolutely loved our stay at Bluebird OBX. We stayed at the Currituck Club two years prior, but this house was better, by far. Noni was such a pleasure to deal with and was very diligent and organized regarding returning emails, answering questions, mailing a packet of brochures, maps, etc. The house had every amenity you could think of. We really did not need to bring a thing! I loved the blender (frozen drinks), the under the cabinet ice maker and the king size bed (feather bed made it sooooo comfortable!). I would definitely recommend Bluebird to anyone considering a trip to Corolla and enjoyed working w/ Noni (and Bill) as homeowners. They made vacation a simple thing to arrange, a pleasure to be at their wonderful home, and overall a terrific, relaxing vacation. We even had a welcome package that had cheese, crackers, dips, candy, etc awaiting our arrival. It is those special touches that really make a wonderful impression...We look forward to staying at Bluebird again in the future!

Our stay at the Bluebird was outstanding! We have rented many summer homes over the years and this was by far, the best home we've stayed in. It is clean as a whistle. We happened to arrive early and met the carpet cleaners (could be coincidental that the carpets were cleaned on our arrival day) The Bluebird has EVERYTHING you could possibly need to feel at home. It is so well appointed, we felt like we were at our own home. My husband likes to cook and often complains about the pots and pans in the rental homes so this time we brought our own, but we never used it! The Bluebird has terrific pots and pans and everything a gourmet cook could want. It even has an egg poacher and griddle for pancakes! The beds were comfy, and the kids loved the bunk beds! The Wii and Playstation were a hit with both the little kids and the "big kids" :) The pool was great to have -- the kids would jump in after a long morning at the beach while the toddler in our group took a nap. Noni was a pleasure to deal with and so organized and thoughtful to send us brochures and local information before our trip. She answered all our questions before the trip and gave us the codes to the house/community gates when she said she would. We will rent the Bluebird again next time we are in OBX. Noni and Bill, thanks for letting us stay at your home. It is truly lovely and so comfortable, we all thought we could use another week!
Owner response:Thanks for the fabulous comment! For the readers information, our carpets are cleaned prior to the summer rental season, mid-season and at the end of season. We want to provide our guests with a clean, comfortable and cozy vacation home!

Noni and Bill obviously know what families need on vacation, as Bluebird’s amenities were outstanding. From beach toys to gourmet kitchen equipment every little detail is well thought out! We loved our stay at Bluebird! Noni made the rental process a breeze and she answered every one of my questions in a timely manner. We love to cook and were so impressed by the quality and quantity of kitchenware. In many rental homes it is hard to find one decent serving spoon, but Noni and Bill have thought of everything! You will not be disappointed in Bluebird’s kitchen as you will find little things like quality paring knives to big things like a Kitchen Aid mixer, a Cuisinart food processor and All Clad pots and pans. It was a pleasure to vacation at Bluebird! We’ll be back!

Bluebird is a beautiful home! We were impressed the moment we pulled in the driveway, actually from the time we entered The Currituck Club community. Before we even arrived Noni provided us with directions, information on the area, recommendations for restaurants and activities, etc. She thought of everything we'd need. That carries over to the home as well. It is equipped with all of the amenities. The home is beautifully decorated but it is also child-friendly and comfortable. There is also plenty of table seating for large groups to dine together in the open living area. We had the perfect vacation at the Bluebird and look forward to our next stay!

We were Noni and Bill's first guest of the summer 2007! It was our first trip to the Outer Banks and our experience could not have been more wonderful. Noni and Bill were a pleasure to book the rental with and could not have been more accommodating. The Bluebird itself was absolutely perfect and we could not have wished for a more perfect 'home away from home'. Everything that we could have needed or wanted was there and even our 2 and 1 year old were taken care of with toys, videos, and beach toys. My aunt and uncle from Pittsburgh, PA , brother and sister-in-law from Charleston, SC and cousins from Harrisburg, PA all said that the Bluebird was our favorite rental we have ever had. The men had a great time golfing, and the kids loved the trolley to the beach. The Currituck Club is a perfect place for families with a wide range of interest. We are already looking forward to next year. Thank you for everything!

Our comment is way overdue only because life has been so hectic since getting back from our flawless vacation at the Bluebird. Our group cosisted of my parents, mother in law, husband and 2 year old daughter and amazingly a wonderful, relaxing, stress free time was had by all. Paul and Valerie have paid so much attention to detail including reservations & information supplied all the way to furnishing and ammenities provided in the Bluebird. The home was so beatifully decorated and totally confortable that even the worst of the sceptics in our group had nothing but glowing remarks. This area of the Outer Banks was, in itself, a pure delight compared to the more southern areas...we will be returning next year and no doubt will be as fully impressed with our experience.

We had a wonderful week at your place, the weather was perfect despite the storm brewing just off the coast. The house was well equiped as promised and we only ate out once during the entire week (the Harris Teeter is fabulous!!!). The collection of novels you have was great too - we all found something interesting to read. The boys went golfing Monday and Wednesday and really enjoyed themselves. Thanks again!

Tom and I and our friends and children had ANOTHER memorable spring vacation at "Bluebird". Our husbands golfed every day in the morning while we slept in on your most comfortable bedding. The kids went on the go-carts and putt-putting and shopping. They got in the hot-tub and played foozball. It's nice to have tv's in the other rooms so the parents can enjoy the greatroom sometimes by ourselves. Your home is kept so nice and is just perfect in so many ways. As you know, we have stayed in Corolla for 5 years now, and your place has become penciled in each year. Thanks for always being accommodating. Eileen, Tom, Abby,John Luke and Thomas

Is this heaven?? No, its the Bluebird house in Corolla, NC, but its damn close. This house, community, and town provided everything needed for you to enjoy life in the Outer Banks. We vacationed here for a week with 7 kids under 6 years old and had a blast. From the foosball table, to the pool, and the hottub there was always something for everyone to do even when it rained(once). The trolley to the beach is perfect or you can take your car. The beach is beautiful, clean, and relatively uncrowded. The house is immaculate. It was like I was living in my own home. Stop reading already, book this place, and look like a hero to your friends like I did.

We thoroughly enjoyed two weeks of family beach vacation while staying at the Bluebird. The house was very nicely furnished, thoughtfully equipped, and overall, very comfortable. The multiple decks, porches and private pool made for a variety of pleasant spots to relax. The additional neighborhood amenities of the Currituck Club made our experience top notch. We plan to return to the Bluebird.

From the first time we spoke with the owners regarding this property for a mini-family reunion, we were impressed. They were wonderful to work with, giving much useful information on the area, the community, and the home. The home was comfortable, clean, and family friendly. We didn't have the feeling that we were staying in an overused rental property--much more like we were at the home of a friend (with good taste!). The pool and hot-tub and foosball table and the large kitchen and open floor plan were big hits; the proximity to the beach and the nice golf course was more than we could have asked for.

You will be guaranteed a great time if you rent the "bluebird"! The house is relaxing and comfortable. It has many great ammenities:(to name a few) hot tub, pool, separate ice making machine, excellent sound system and plasma tv in the family room and foozball! Their furniture and beds are also very comfortable and tasteful.and the decking provides nice views of the golf course. We had a very nice experience renting the property in feb 2005, so it's also good in the "off season" Thanks to Paul and Valerie for our wonderful stay in the Outer Banks!

the Bluebird is a beautiful spacious place to stay with all the comforts of home. it's location is close to many activities, the ocean and many fine restaurants. paul and valerie, the owners are wonderful to deal with. if you want to relax, the pool and hot tub, overlooking the golf course is the place to do it. if it rains, there are movies and games, such as the fooseball table, as well as the satelite, plasma tv gives you more than enough to do. the kitchen allows you the luxery of entertaining and the open floor plan allows conversation and interaction. having a washer and dryer allowed us to pack less. the hot tub at night is especially enjoyable, looking at the many stars. a place you will never forget.
