My husband and I, along with our 6 year old, stayed here in August 2011. We could not have asked for anything better! The biggest thing for me when choosing a rental is the quality of the home and cleanliness and I can confirm that everything was new and meticulously CLEAN. This cozy beach cottage is in a perfect location with a great view of the Wright Brothers Memorial (beautifully lit at night) and a short walk to the beach. The kitchen is fully loaded with everything you can think of and the Keurig was a special touch. It is evident that the owner has put everything in to remodeling this home, as everything is new, and there is not anything that he hasn't thought of in order to make guests feel right at home. Things we loved the best were the dependable wi-fi, the dvd player for our son, the outdoor shower, the charcoal grill, the air conditioners, the washer and dryer, and the proximity from the beach and the great restaurants. This place is perfect for the small family and is great when you have little ones and prefer to walk home from the beach to get an afternoon nap or lunch before hitting the boogie boards again. This house was not filled with the amenities of the larger homes on the Outer Banks (pool, hot tub, game rooms, video games) but is perfect if you want to have a vacation that focuses on quality time with your family the old-fashioned way. We can't wait to stay again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

About: We are here if you need us. I'm Jim, and My wife is Lyn. We live and work on the OBX. She's from the Philippines and I'm from Raleigh. We were married right here on the beach.
Why Kill Devil Hills:
I grew up going to the Outer Banks, my wife is from the Philippine Islands so we both feel at home here. Plus, I like flying and this is the home of the first flight. Our beach home is just across the street from where it all happened.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
This is our little getaway place that I put my heart and soul into. It has a unique balance of hominess and beachiness. I remodeled it from an original Outer Banks style beach box, into a fresh, modern (inside) studio apartment. The open floor plan gives it a roomy feel and it has a cozy ambiance. Being on the east side of the main road, there is no problem getting to the ocean quickly.
