Poolside Mt Retreat is a luxury lodge that has it's very own private in ground swimming pool! Now with a salt system for a more enjoyable swimming experience! This makes it one of the most sought after vacation homes in Ellijay Georgia! This cabin sleeps up to 21 people in 4 large bedrooms, dens, loft, and even has an observation tower! Main floor and lower level bedrooms have king size beds and the two upper level bedrooms have queen size beds. The loft is one of the most relaxing places to hang out and even has a twin size 'tent' bed for some extra fun at bedtime!
There are 3 1/2 bathrooms so everyone can feel at home and enjoy their privacy during their vacation time!

The high cathedral ceilings made of tongue and groove logs and open floor plan allows for plenty of space for everyone to spread out during their stay at Poolside Mt Retreat! Lounge in the oversized leather wrap around sofas with recliners and you are all set to enjoy 'the game' or a great movie! The wood burning fireplace provides warmth and a cozy romantic atmosphere on those cold winter nights!
The mountain views are breathtaking from inside as well as from the many large decks. Take a walk up to the observation tower for a 360 degree view of the North Georgia Mountains!

You asked for it! The game room or 'Fun Center' has just about everything you can imagine! This is the 2nd time that we stayed here and loved it. We created many memories here. The dollar game was fun. It is now hidden in the open living + dining room. "We had such a great time at your amazing cabin! This is one of the best cabins we've rented in the N. Georgia Mountains. We loved the basement, fire pit, porch swings & hot tub! The kitchen was also very well stocked! We loved all the extra special touches this cabin had. We will be back in the summer so we can enjoy the pool. This was the most amazing house for our family reunion. We spent hours searching the internet for the right place and God provided this one for us. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your cabin. It was a great place to stay for my husbands R & R from Iraq. Our whole family (all 13 of us) agree this was the perfect place. We had plenty of room and more than enough to do to keep everyone entertained. Some of our favorite things were roasting marshmallows and wienies at the fire pit, having pin ball tournaments (my mom scored 2 million something) watching movies from the DVD collection, and playing games around the large dining room table. We even celebrated our daughters 11th b'day at the cabin. I almost forgot to mention how much the kids enjoyed sleeping in the tower! Thank you so much for helping make this time together so special. About the owner: Hi everyone! We are a family of 3+3. Mom and Dad in our 40-50's; a 10 year old daughter; two rescued cats and a rescued dog. Dad works for National Defense as a Physicist. Mom also works for National Defense as an Engineer. We have spent a fair amount of our lives in the South and love the mountain area!
Why the Owner Chose Carters Lake:
Why Ellijay: We fell in love with the area when visiting a couple of years ago and ended up buying a home we loved it so much. We have visited Gatlinburg often but find that this area provides a more immersive experience and enjoy it more. It is also closer for us than Gatlinburg! Ellijay provides a low key small town feel and the area really lets you unwind and feel connected with nature.
Why this home: We chose this home because 1) it has an in ground pool!; 2) it has a great flow and feel; 3) is new and well built ; 4) the subdivision is controlled and is gated. Homes are spread out and we rarely make contact with anyone when we visit. We certainly never see other houses from this one. This makes for a very private and relaxing break. The house has an open floor-plan with 20+ foot ceilings and lots of pine tongue-and-groove. Everything was built well to include the professional fire pit and outdoor pool.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
My daughter would have to say the number one benefit is the in ground pool and Hot Tub. She spends most of her time in either one! For Mom and Dad, it is the peacefulness of the area and the openness of the house. When you look out from most living areas there are wonderful long range views of the Georgia Mountains, views of mature Hickory, Hemlock, Oak, and Cedar. To me, the house feels integrated into the mountain area. Views of the North Georgia Mountains are everywhere, Even the fire pit has a view!
We all love the game room. Lots of tournaments to be had and family fun. This is a massive room with full sized air hockey, pool table, multicade arcade game, restored Sorcerer pinball machine, Foosball, electronic darts, and PS2. My daughter is pretty good with the old arcade games - she beats me all the time! Her favorite is Time Pilot. My wife is a die hard Centipede fan. Although I never played it in the 80's, I like Gyrus. There are 48+ arcade games to choose from; built into an original 80's MS. Pac-man game cabinet! My favorite in the game area has to be the Sorcerer pinball machine. I took the game apart, refurbished it, put it back together, and it plays great! Reminds me of playing pinball in the 80's - lots of fun.
There are fishing ponds within a 5 minute walk and walking trails that start at the backyard of this house. With one of the best stream and Lake fishing in Georgia within 20 minutes as well as tubing and canoeing, the options are endless.
The perfect evening for us is to take a dip in the pool and Hot Tub after a long day while Dad grills steaks. Dad: the Grill is in line of sight of the pool/Hot Tub and in talking range. You wont be relegated to an isolated spot. We eat the steaks by the pool then take a dip in the hot tub while a fire is starting in the fire pit. On a clear night we see shooting stars from the hot tub every couple of minutes! Then we sit around the fire and enjoy stories while roasting marshmallows.
