This new, light and airy lake front home looks at Sarah Palin's 'Alaska'. The Palin Home can easily be viewed from the front deck-as is the spectacular Matanuska Glacier. Lake Lucille offers the peace and beauty of remote Alaska, but the convenience of being within the city limits of Wasilla. It is accessible to many of the great wonders of Alaska and suitable day trips to glaciers, waterfalls, fishing, and hiking.
Although secluded it is only five minutes from downtown Wasilla.
The kitchen living room has a large sliding door which opens to the front deck. There are three bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen bed and overlooks the lake. The lovely private bath has a window to the woods. The larger 2nd bedroom has a king size bed and overlooks the lake. This room shares a family bath with tub or shower with a third bedroom that has twin beds and a toddler crib. It overlooks the woods.
The single car garage has a medium size upright freezer, and some recreation equipment available for use.
Nights on the Lake are quiet and calm.

House is basically brand new. This is our second summer staying at Bob’s Bungalow & we plan to come back next year. The renter is very pleasant to work with & has gone above & beyond to see that the rental is fully stocked with everything you may need. Lake frontage is awesome & there is a rowboat that my 3 daughters learned to row in. Last summer was funny watching them go in circles. This summer was awesome watching them row around the lake with confidence. Thank you Vicki for the awesome memories & awesome lodging.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We couldn't have been happier with our decision to use Bob's Bungalow for the jumping off point for our 4th of July adventures. The house is brand new and nicely appointed. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean and stocked with everything we needed. We did an amazing Hatcher's Pass hike that included meeting "Prospector Buck" along the way... Our last day we canoed the Nancy Lake trail system- It was nice to be able to drive back to Bob's Bungalow after our challenging adventures. Thanks for renting your place Vicki- we'll be sure to tell our friends and family!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I really appreciated staying at Bob's Bungalow. The view was amazing and the beds were so comfortable to sleep in. There is a great open living area so that people can be in the kitchen, enjoy the view AND still interact with those relaxing in the living room. The visit to Lake Lucille and Bob's Bungalow was one i will always remember. Thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

From the moment we parked in the driveway we could see that this was a special place. At first I could barely tear myself away from the view from the garden... the grass going down to the water's edge with the mountains looming in the background, the bird-life, the sheer serenity. But once I went inside the environment was if possible even better, a lovely, spaceous, light-filled house, tastefully and comfortable furnished. During our stay there, we lacked for nothing. Highly recommended.Owner response: Hi Josie, Thank you for the review. I moved another bed to the twin room upstairs and new bedspreads with the green quilts below. We got more glasses, and a bunch of other stuff I thought we needed. Some really nice towels. etc.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: Vicki Malone was born and raised in Alaska. As a girl she came to the 'cabin' on Lake Lucille with her family to enjoy the wonderful summers full of water skiing, swimming, site seeing and hiking. She lives in Bethel, Alaska and enjoys time at Lake Lucille with her four granddaughters. In 2009, she tore down the old cabin and built a 3 bedroom home on the Lake. She named the new house 'Bob's Bungalow' after her dad.
Why the Owner Chose Wasilla:
I want to retire on Lake Lucile. The Matanuska Valley is the heart land of south central Alaska. You experience the wild beauty of Alaska within minutes of all the conveniences of shopping and within an hour of the big City.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This is a great home to enjoy Alaska. The day trips from here are great. I am especially fond of Hatcher Pass, the Matanuska Glacier. I love spending the day in Talkeetna and taking the train to Hurricaine Gulch. I love coming home and watching the sunset on the lake. I have the morning sun on the deck. There are days when I dont leave the Lake. It is too beautiful and relaxing.
