The villa is my fantasy house, open to nature and the breezes of the ricefields. The staff is excellent and trustworthy. Ubud is one of the most peaceful, healing places I've been in and the Balinese people are one of the finest in the world. We felt so safe and so well taken care of by Angel, who prepared breakfast with love every morning. We learned so much of the local culture through Angel. The location is convenient--walking distance to he center of Ubud. Run, don't walk, to Ubud and this villa! Pleasant surprises await.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

All the reviews are dead on. I based my selection of this villa strictly from the reviews before me, and they did not steer me wrong. My friend and I were thoroughly impressed and happy with our choice. The location, service, quality for what you pay were superb. The staff was amazingly helpful and made our stay extremely pleasant. Would not only stay here again next time i'm in Ubud/Penestanan, but will recommend to all my friends visiting.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I stayed at the villa with 2 girl friends for a week and we felt like the staff was family by the time we left. The property is spacious, clean and airy with beautiful views from the 2nd floor deck of the rice paddies complete with tinkling cowbells and farmers tending their crops. The peace and serenity of the location belies the easy access to the main street and the short 15 minute walk to the hustle and bustle of down town Ubud and the most attractive Starbucks I have seen anywhere in the world. Entering through the charming gate and crossing the bridge over the lotus pond, I was immediately struck by the fact that the photos of the property do not do it justice. It is so much prettier than it looked in the pictures. Oh, and did I mention that a 2 minute walk out the back door takes you to a wonderful spa with excellent massage therapists, bath tubs with tons of hot water and laden with flowers and ginger tea to complete the experience. All in all, we could not have asked for more. I will definitely go back and my only hesitation with writing such a glowing review is that if this property is "discovered" I may have a more difficult time securing a booking in the future. Thanks Trudy for sharing your wonderful space with us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My fiancé and I stay at Villa Dewi Nammu for five nights before our wedding in Ubud. Staying in Penestanan is a much better idea than staying in Ubud. It’s close enough to walk (20 mins) to Ubud central or just stay in Penestanan to enjoy little Warung’s and shops. Trudy was a wonderful person to work with! She answered our initial emails quickly and helped arrange transportation from the airport (Gede) who was absolutely wonderful! Once we arrived at the Villa we were greeted by Angel (Made) who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Each day she made a wonderful breakfast, and as noted below, even taught us a little Indonesian that helped us get around. Kadet and Wayan were also very nice and had a blast practicing our Indonesian with them. We wish we would have booked more time at the villa and will definitely come back. If you are concerned there is no pool, don’t worry. For a few thousand rupiah you can use the pool at Cendana in Ubud which we did one day. Thank you again for allowing us to say at your wonderful home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We enjoyed an absolutely delightful 9 days at Villa Dewi Namnu. We enjoyed the staff just as much as we enjoyed the spacious villa and its peaceful surroundings. Angel is an absolute joy and we cannot praise her enough!! We were 3 women celebrating our 40th birthdays and the sanctuary the villa created for us, during a very busy peak season was perfect. Its close enough to central Ubud to be handy but far enough away you can get a break and a reprieve from the bustle of Ubud's streets. Large spacious rooms with sliding doors that open to to be able to sit back and what the rice grow. Thank you again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed for 2 weeks in this villa and really enjoyed our time. I'd like to give special credits to Angel the housekeeper who is very kind, always helpful, and gives great advice for you to get the most out of your trip in Ubud and its neighborhood. I had been 2 times already in Ubud and Bali in general and this was one of the most enjoyable time I had. One (small) regret : no private swimming pool :) The villa is 2min away from the center of Penestanan which is the true cultural and artistic center of this region. This location is a great compromise between calm, rice field view, and being close to Ubud center activity.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Villa Dewi Nammu for ~3 weeks. Our stay at the Villa was superior. Made (Ma day) "Angel" served us amazing breakfast daily even treating us on many occasions to a Balinese favorite of Black Rice Pudding. We felt like royalty as she made sure the house was always adorned with flowers and very clean. Best of all- she was kind enough to teach us Balinese/Indonesian daily and went out of her way to make sure our stay was excellent- the rest of the staff did the same and after seeing them daily for so long we all became quite fond of each other. The Villa is more than charming. I enjoyed the top floor which I nicknamed the marble tree house- from this vantage point you get a clear sight of Mt. Agung. The entire property is amazing - my husband found a great workspace in the veranda in between the main house and the guest house. Feeding the fish and photographing all of the beautiful flowers and interesting architecture filled many of my hours. I was able to bird watch and caught many glimpses of the ever so stunning Java Kingfisher. The roosters, cows and goats were also great to hear on a daily basis. This "rumah" is exceptional.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Our staff had a wonderful time during your stay and were delighted with your interest in their language, food, village and cermonies. So glad you enjoyed the beauty of the property and the grace of our well trained staff. Come back again.

I recently stayed at this charming villa. After entering the front doors, crossing over a bridge of awesome white lilies - I was welcomed by a friendly Hello from Made. Made is the house manager, cook and soon to be your best friend. My room was lovely with fresh flowers, an assortment of snacks and beautiful bed linens. Each morning Made greeted me with a hot coffee, fresh fruit and eggs. Afterwards, I took a hot shower and sat outside to think about my day. This is a special place with all the luxury of a hotel but in a home setting. I could not ask for more. Thanks so much! I will be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
